We signed a contract in March of 2021 and he did not finish the project until April of 2022, a single bathroom remodel. In the course of demo for remodel, his crew cut through pipes and live wires. His crew attempted to conceal the issues by wrapping painters tape around water pipes, which resulted in flooding my downstairs. His crew left expose live wires with painters tape on them as a their fix and left my house in a potentially dangerous situation. Upon me expressing my concerns, he threaten to walk away and drop the contract. I was forced to continue the project, due to the fact he had caused more damage, than he made improvements at that point. He would constantly attempt to cut ever corner he could in rectifying it. Other than some unqualified laborers, he has no one on his payroll, he is simply calling contractors you could call yourself, with little to no planning and scheduling. This resulted in large delays between each phase and most sub contractor were so frustrated with him, they did not want to work for him. If it wasn't for constant calling and emailing him and his sub contractors directly, managing the project on our own, it would have never got done. What work him and his actual crew, of unqualified laborers did, was sub par and leaves us questioning what I did not see. I have not even finished expressing how bad every aspect of this project was, do not believe a word he says. I wish I could give negative stars. The owner Chris and all his employees that I met were nice and good to work with. The first problem is that he did not give me a realistic start date. I contacted him in early June, he said he would start in early July, but he didn't start until August 29. The second problem was the price. The final price was almost double the initial estimate. He did revise his initial estimate before he started work, but he also went significantly over the revised estimate. There were no surprises on the job so it was just not a realistic estimate. I also feel that I paid too much after comparing the price to paint my porch against the price my parent's paid to get their whole house painted.

He really helped us plan and basically hand hold and walk us through the entire process from conceptualizing our options, where to buy materials, even color and design recommendations. He gave us an aggressive time window for job completion which was important to us with the Holidays looming; and he nailed it - finishing with time to spare. The work was absolutely meticulous, and the attention to details and small nuances make such a huge difference! He even went around to touch up and improve other details around the area not in the scope of the job; just because he thought it would improve the aesthetic and he takes so much pride in his work. We had just finished a kitchen remodel in January 2019 (replaced all the cabinets, countertops, and…read morelights), but the floorman we'd contracted with had left us high and dry. We had subfloor and while we could have installed the new laminate floor we had, we'd have done a horrible job at it. Lou Gagne was highly recommended to us by a local business, many of whose employees had used his services. We gave him a call that evening. He came out to see us a couple days later and we discussed what had to be done. Install the laminate floor throughout the kitchen, dining room, and attached hallway, install baseboard everywhere but the kitchen, and install threshold where required. He said it would take two days and gave us a reasonable price. OK, so that's the background. Here's what we got. We got a perfectly installed floor, perfectly installed baseboard, someone who really enjoys his work (he sings to his boom box while on the job!), and he fixed some things that a previous contractor hadn't done right because it bugged him and only took a few minutes. The join between the living and dining rooms is perfect. My wife and I did the living room, and not particularly well. He matched the grout lines in the laminate perfectly. In the kitchen he got the laminate floor so close to the cabinets it looks like the floor goes under the cabinets. His idea of using gray grout was perfect as it matches the grout lines in the floor. These walls in our house are not square, but you'd never know it when you look at the baseboard corners. It didn't matter whether it was an inside or outside corner, in close quarters or not, Lou did it perfectly. He also screwed our subfloor down as it wasn't correctly nailed into the joists during construction in 1986. Can you say "squeak"? Not anymore! Lou also gave us some ideas of how we're going to do the backsplash in our kitchen and behind the stove, which we're going to take him up on as soon as possible. My wife and I trust Lou completely. When he says he can do something, he can really do it. Fair price, great work, and it really gives us pride of ownership in our home again. And at some point, we're going to find a figurine that represents what he can do and how well he does it, even if we need to design it ourselves.

He quoted a reasonable price for the work being done and let me know the workers would be at my house within the next 3 days. The following day, I received a call from Braden, letting me know they would be at my house in the next 20 minutes, which they were. Braden, along with 2 other workers, worked quickly and efficiently! Within 1.5 hours, they removed my old plastic gutter guards, which were stuck under the shingles, and had my many overflowing gutters running smoothly again. They cleaned up any debris and left my hose in great condition. Braden was very professional and answered all of my questions.
