Food: The taste of the wings were 4.5/5! Fantastic BBQ but the wings were like chicken jerky. I was snapping Chicken off the bones. Wife thoroughly enjoyed the boneless wings and said they tasted better than Buffalo Wild Wings boneless wings. Kid loves the strips. Everyone agreed that the fries were 5/5! The best regular style French fries we have every had - so crispy, hot, and flavorful. Drink situation: The soda fountain was broken and they only offered sweet tea, fruit punch, and lemonade. Ambiance: Terrible. It looks like the place hasn't been wiped down or swept for a couple years. The plants in the front windows were literally rotting and could be smelled when walking in. Luckily we had baby wipes, so my wife had to scrub BBQ sauce off the table, since all tables were filthy. The front door was atrocious as it had grime and BBQ hand prints smeared all over the glass. The place was seemingly run by a single man who had no customer service skills. He wasn't mean, but not friendly. We paid $50 for three baskets of food and three drinks. It was as expensive as a sit down restaurant, with the atmosphere of a gas station bathroom. Two TVs were on, one of which was blaring local news through my skull. I'll definitely order food for pickup, but I'll never eat there again. 3 stars as the food saved the disgusting restaurant. read more

Went by their store off Jeff Rd the owner wasn't there. Got in touch with him... extremely rude blaming it all on the driver and Grubhub... also got very upset for the review I posted on GrubHub's site... bottom line is their protein cuts don't even look like anything they have advertised on their menu pics... altogether a different protein... Btw big red flags when walking in to the Jeff Rd store... less than desirable place to order food from... I can't imagine their kitchen... Health Department should checked it out... read more

Thought we'd try this place since it was close to our house and other places to buy wings were packed on Saturday. I'll give it a C+. There was one customer when we arrived and a couple more came in during our stay. It appeared to be only one person working the whole place. The wait time for food was acceptable. No drinks until food arrived. Hubby wanted unlimited unsweat tea but only 2 sweet options (got peach tea) since the soda machine was broken. One refill allowed. The wings were small and hard. Napkins were torn-off hard hand towels. Should have a paper towel roll on each table. TVs on to watch college football so that was good. Bathroom was large and semi-clean. All the floors were sticky. Convenient location but not going to go there often. read more

Finally a decent wing place in NW Huntsville! Rookiez is conveniently located in Monrovia across from the elementary school. The wings and fries were both served hot and fresh. There are several sauces to choose from for the wings as well as many different topping options for the fries. We got the ranch and cheese on the fries and it did not disappoint! I definitely recommend calling your order in ahead of time and checking it for accuracy before leaving. The prep time was a good 20-30 minutes. There is some seating inside. This place just has no consistency. Sometimes the ranch tastes different. I would ask for extra crispy and I get burnt wings. They give you like 5 fries depending on who's there. When everything food wise is correct it's a nice meal, if not you won't like the experience. Just do pick up orders, no point in going inside and sitting down I promise. read more

This place don't even deserve a star. Going inside the restaurant the place looked dead and run down after ordering we didn't receive our drinks and waited about 20 min for our food after food was ready we then get told there out of drinks and ice so we just asked for a refund the worker then opened the register and only had 4 dollars in the register that was it no more money so settling with less money than the drinks costs we left. When we sat down to eat the ranch was molded and was hit like it's been sitting out for weeks and it was not blue cheese. I'm scared to even eat this food because of how aweful this place is i hope they shut this place down soon or someone is gonna get sick. read more

Ok so there is not anything wrong with the food but the service and information on the menu is very terrible. I ordered two combos and he said that I had to buy a drink separately. The combo that is a 12 piece it's already $15 so why wouldn't it come with a drink so you're roughly spending about $18-$20 for a combo and a drink that you would have to order separately. They will not tell you that the drink come separately until after you have paid and have your order. They also do not ask how would you like your fries or your wings? I would've gave this place at least a four but just because I am a young black man and I go to establishment with my elders and they are rude to me and don't give me information Rookiez wings receives a one. read more

I patronize Rookiez Wings quite frequently, particularly the one on University when it was open. Always receiving amazing customer service and the food being ready when I arrived. Yesterday, I decided I wanted Rookiez for dinner and decided to call the Jeff Rd location. I should've have known what was in store when I had to call the location SEVEN times prior to receiving an answer. Not only did I call seven times but somewhere in between the calls, I called the Hazel Green location to affirm I had the correct number. The lady that answered was kind, confirmed that I was calling the correct number and told me to call again and if I didn't receive an answer for me to call her back and she would see what she could do. I attempted to call the Jeff Rd location and finally received an answered. A man answered, I completed my ordered and he responded with "Come get it" I was taken back, but replied "Ok, thank you" and sent my husband. Upon arrival, the food was not ready but he waited patiently. When the food was ready, my husband asked the man about the drinks, to where the man responded saying "they don't come with drinks". As I stated in the very beginning, I frequent Rookiez often and have always gotta a drink with my 12 piece wing combo just as it states on their online menu. My husband felt as if the man had a bad attitude and kept mumbling things under his breath so he decided to count our losses and let the drinks go. While the food was good and hot, I have never experience such lack luster customer service at this business before. It was very saddening. I don't wanna give up on Rookiez but I certainly know I won't be back anytime soon. read more

Very conflicted review here. The wings were probably a 7/10. Had good flavor and great size for wings. The Cajun fries were pretty good as well. The service was horrible though. The person at the counter was wearing a shirt that said, Not Interested, which described this person's attitude perfectly. I understand it's tough to hire right now, but there were only two employees on site and I'm sure they were overwhelmed. This would have been a 4 or even possibly a 5 star review but the customer service and the food just being good, just above meh kept it from being a 4 or 5 star review. Will try again in the future once the hiring workers issue improves. read more

Ordered a mix of hot and mild wings and Parmesan garlic fries to go. All were fantastic and definitely recommend the fries! The hot flavor wings were perfect--spicy but not burn your eyes out hot. The two men working were very nice and helpful. I'll definitely return to this local wing spot. read more
