This is a gorgeous hotel .. very clean and love the decor and art. The bed was super firm which we didn't prefer. plus alot about travel experience is location location location and not a fan of this location. We stayed 2 night at the Renaissance hotel and the beds were far more comfortable .. the staff the most helpful of our whole trip and the location was perfect. Then we met up with our Globus tour here .. and compared to the other hotel the room mate would not be somewhere we would return to our recommend. Had a dinner a breakfast here .. and not a fan of the food either. I see from the pics here that some the rooms were really pretty .. our was rather plain. the AC didn't get cool enough for us but luckily it was early May but in the summer it would have been very uncomfortable. The door to get to our room was super heavy ..not a problem for us but elderly or mobility issues would have had trouble. But my real issue with this hotel is i like to be in walking distance from the action and this was way out from everything. We had to spend a ton on UBER to get back and forth which was annoying.

The hotel reception and lounge are well designed and stylishly decorated.

My wife and I love to now and then stay in a cool hotel in our own beloved Amsterdam. It's what people call a staycation I guess. We don't just see a hotel as a means to only spend the night during a city trip, we see it as a way to get pampered, to relax and unwind too, so the complete experience and service experience is important to us. And let's face it: that's exactly how hotels can differentiate themselves from AirBnB. We arrived in this relatively new hotel on a Friday and left the following Monday. It is situated not far from Amsterdam central station and the city centre, at a tiny little harbour for luxury boats and yachts which serve as a nice decor for the hotel's restaurant and cocktail bar. Nice. And also the ferries to the hip up and coming Amsterdam north, across river IJ, are only a walk away. I would advice people visiting this hotel for a city trip, to hire bikes, because a huge, nice, free, modern and save bike garage is just opposite the hotel. The hotel itself is very modern and stylishly decorated. Awesome furniture everywhere. Especially in the cocktail bar it's nice to relax in the über comfy chairs and sofas. Because they not yet finished preparing our room, we were treated a wine on the house there, lovely gesture. Everything looks impeccably clean and very well maintained, as if the hotel just opened doors a day ago. That new. Also our room was impeccably clean and stylish... and the view! Oh, the view! Room 1102 is on the 11th floor and happens to be one of the rooms at a corner of the hotel, which offers AMAZING views over Amsterdam AND river IJ! So cool and totally worth the little wait! Awesome! Go for those! The bed was really very comfy, the shower really very nice -a huge one hanging from the ceiling- and the minibar was filled up with anything one could wish for, plus: on top of it a watercooker for tea AND a Nespresso machine plus coffee cups for free coffee. Furthermore our room was really quiet. Not the slightest noise from the outside world nor noises from other guests managed to pass through the thick walks and windows. And: enough wall sockets to charge all your phones, Bluetooth speakers and whatevers. So, yes. A very very pleasant stay. Also breakfast is great! And is served until 12! Finally a hotel that understands. The restaurant again stylish and cosy and the food fresh and very tasty. Nice to gaze at the boats in the little harbour from your breakfast table. But: the best this hotel has to offer: the people working here. Always so friendly, helping, understanding, kind, attentive, smiling genuine smiles! Staff is awesome here! The people of this hotel make you feel very welcome and special, fantastic hosts! Check-out was till 12, so no need to set the alarmclock too early. I guess you'll understand by now this hotel comes highly recommended by me and my wife. Topnotch in its category. You won't be disappointed.

That's the hotel, to the right.

Ugh... I hate having to write negative reviews... and you can tell by my stats that I don't do it too often. But... after being woken up 2 times this morning by some kind of drilling/banging noise, coming from the roof, I can't say I'm very happy with Room Mate Aitana. Yup, the 1st time was at 8am and the 2nd time was just before 9:30am... absolutely unacceptable. Yes, it's a beautiful hotel. Yes, I got fairly 'decent' prices with an early bird special on Agoda.com. But no, those facts aren't soothing me right now. This hotel is visually pleasing and brand new so the rooms are clean and more spacious than what you'll typically find in Amsterdam. I was very excited about the find when I was planning the trip. Unfortunately, there are too many things they need to work-out to make it a great experience. Most importantly, the water in the shower runs hot, then cold, then hot, almost at a regular tempo. This does not make for a nice shower, though their shower heads are nice. Also, the hot water in the sink tap is extremely hot, burn your hands hot... so beware. You can see the pressure changes if you turn on the sink tap and let it go for a couple of minutes. We changed rooms, hoping to solve the hot/cold shower issue but it didn't help. Luckily, I requested a room with a bathtub on our 2nd room so at least I could run a bath and have the water mix before I got in. Other annoyances include room keys that rarely work. I had to go downstairs to have them reprogrammed multiple times and once they had to send someone up with me to open the door. Of course, we had to go downstairs if we needed something because we couldn't get them to answer via phone. Anyway, the staff at Aitana, from the reception to the room cleaning, were all very pleasant and nice. And again, the decor and rooms were great, though not well lit... too bad about all the little kinks. I hope they have them worked out soon (the hotel has been open less than 2 months right now). It's a bit of a walk to the central areas, about 20 min, which would have been fine, had it not been raining, cold and windy all 3 days we were here. There are no taxis right outside so they'll have to call one for you (plan in advance) or you'll have to walk to Central Train station, which is only about a 10 min walk. From there, it's easy and much cheaper to take the track trains that go around the city, anyway. Would I stay here again? At this time, probably not. Paying $600 for 3 nights isn't something I do often so when I do, I expect to be able to wake up when I want and have a shower that doesn't play tricks with water temperature. Won't see ya there.

Good location in Jordaan neighborhood but a little nestled away. Very close about 5-7m walk from Amsterdam centraal station which was a huge advantage for tourism. Good views are available upon request or upgrades. Late checkout also available at a reasonable price. Staff was friendly , helping and courteous. Didn't try the hotel breakfast. But the hotel has three nice cafes right opposite that have nice vegetarian, vegan and healthy options like juices etc. among others like coffee, bagel etc. at a great price. Room was nice, clean, about 4* quality. Big TV, free internet (strong) and coffee maker, locker and iron. Lobby is pretty, they also have a nice business center which is free for prints and Internet surfing. Evening ambiance in lobby was nice with drinks and good music. No complaints. I'd come back here.

Hotel is located on the dock and within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. We arrived at the hotel in the morning and we were able to check in which was much needed after long flights from California. The hotel is very modern, classy and gorgeously decorated. Room was very spacious with floor to ceiling windows allowing for a lot of natural lighting and great views. The bathroom toiletries were very unique, bed very comfortable, ample amount of closet space and a safe in the room. Staff was very friendly. They have two bars and a large lounge area with a lot of seating. Loved everything about this hotel!!

Extremely happy with my stay here (May 2014). The staff were all very friendly and attentive. I had a great spacious and modern room, complete with not-so-bad toiletries. Bed and pillows were all comfy, well stocked mini bar, and the room service was ok - could do with more of a selection on their menus, as well as in the restaurant & bar. The decor throughout the hotel is modern and trendy, I personally liked the bar area overlooking the small marina. The location of the hotel is great as it's not far from the train station, but if you don't want to eat in the hotel it is a but of a hike to find somewhere else. Pleased to say taxis are now on standby outside the hotel, and I had no issues with the shower/bathroom. Hotel offers free wifi!!! All in all I'd recommend and def stay here again.

Oustanding experience! The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The room was nice and cleaned very well every day. We also called to ask for a place to purchase a US to European power adapter and they brought one to the room (within 3 minutes) to use for our entire stay, free of charge! Midway through our stay, our sink clogged up a bit... The staff promptly took care of the problem, wrote a nice apology letter, and even gave us a coupon to the bar for 2 free drinks for "our trouble." Top notch customer service and a wonderful place!

The view from the main conference room.

Good venue to host company meetings and events. Did not stay in the rooms, but the hotel is centrally located. The lounge bar is really nice and the cocktails are good. It is pricey so be aware of it.

The hotel is also located very close to the docks where our Viking Rhine River cruise boat docked, although it is very difficult to walk there due to busy roadways in the area. The back of the hotel overlooks a dozen railway lines, with the docks in the background. The front of the hotel overlooks the river, and center of the city. We used Hilton honors points for our May 26-May 28, 2024 stay, and got upgraded to a fourth-floor suite, on the corner. Got the usual fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies. Place is shaped like a triangle due to sharp angles of the building. Our unit had a spacious bathroom with separate tube and shower, a separate bedroom, and separate living room with a mini bar. Floor to ceiling windows in bedroom and living room. The living room had a sofa, desk, multiple sitting tables and view of the river. Closet without doors, as is common in Europe. One of the quirks of having a corner room is that the unit was shaped like a triangle. Opening the bathroom door would block the main door from opening. Very quiet, as we faced away from the railway tracks, and no vehicle traffic on the combination bike/pedestrian walkway in front of the river. We are Hilton Diamond members and had access to the top floor Executive Lounge, but didn't eat there. Ate downstairs at the free breakfast buffet for Hilton Gold and Diamond members, and free happy hour appetizers/snacks at the bar. The airport is accessible by surface train from the nearby Centraal Station, although if you have check-in luggage, you should take a taxi, as the train cars have very limited room to store oversized luggage, and no overhead storage compartments like airlines. They also make a large number of stops. Rated 100/100 on the walkability scale by Tripadvisor, with 174 restaurants and 67 attractions within 0.3 miles.

The hotel is located at the ship terminal and as a result it's a very convenient for travelers who are either planning to embark or disembark. However, it's also a wonderful hotel for anyone who wants to be located near the Amsterdam Central bus and train station. When we first arrived, we thought we were far away from the museums and restaurants but once we took a few minutes to study the tram schedules, the Number 26 stops at the Muziekgebouw ( their huge music concert hall) , which is next to the hotel. We were especially grateful to the wonderful concierge staff and Tina Maddaloni, who was the Manager on Duty and who helped provide us with such personalized service, you might have thought we we're returning guests! Our room was spacious and had a beautiful view of the water and parts of the city. When making your reservations, you should definitely ask to have their breakfast buffet included! I found the selection of breakfast items to be spectacular with everything from an omelette chef to vegetable smoothies. There were more stations of meats, salmon, cheeses as well as the largest honeycomb I'd ever seen! The dining area comprises over three large rooms with a large staff constantly cleaning up dishes and offering assistance. We also had dinner at the hotel one evening and we were surprised by how delicious our meals were. The hotel also brags about their homemade ice cream and we have to agree, it was spectacular! Before writing my review, I read some of the other Yelp comments. I'm always curious of the ones that are very negative and I guess it's impossible for a big hotel to make everyone ( always) happy. However, my wife and I were especially fortunate, since we hadn't done the research in advance but were very fortunate to have landed at such a classy hotel! The hotel also has an excellent 24 hour self service mart in the lobby with a great selection of beers, sandwiches and other treats.

Location is walking distance to many things. Very touristy area, though, so that kept us walking right past most of the shops and restaurants that were nearest to the hotel. Much of the art on display throughout the hotel and in the guest room is quirky and a bit racy. Staff were very friendly and helpful, both at the check-in and concierge counters. They even helped us book tickets for a canal boat tour. Our room was very spacious and clean. We even had a bit of a view from the window (mostly street view, but also a bit of the canal). Like so many modern hotels, the bathroom area was a bit atypical, with the sink and (ample) counter space mostly in the open, while toilet and showers are contained within their own separate stalls. There is actually a switch on the wall that let's you frost or unfrost the glass walls of the bathroom, according to your preferences... definitely don't share a room with someone you won't trust with that power! The hand lotion and soap smelled very nice, FYI. A few quirks. They apparently have to manually unlock the fridge/mini bar from the front desk when you check in. We learned this when we found our fridge was locked upon our arrival. Our room didn't have a remote control for the TV, which didn't really matter since we weren't going to use it, but we wanted to turn the TV off since it displays a room directory by default. Finally, it seems like someone (another guest?) stole the "Do Not Disturb" sign from our door and our neighbors' doors at some point? The front desk helped us with all this stuff, but just some weird things to share. Amsterdam hotels (and particularly in the city center) are wildly expensive. Credit card points helped us stay at this conveniently located, pleasant property.
