We have been very pleased with Roosevelt Care. If you have unfortunately had to visit a loved one in a care facility or hospital recently, you know how short-staffed places are and how difficult it is to keep good nurses. So yes, things are not perfect, but we have had very good experiences with Roosevelt Care in Old Bridge, and the care has been more attentive and responsive than in any facility we have been in so far- and this for a patient with an extremely challenging injury situation. We have also found the P/T outstanding-- much better than another facility actually known for their physical therapy. The building itself is also extremely clean and bright, also unusual. read more

I would not recommend this place. Some of the aides manhandled my father when he had a brain injury.

Horrible place. This rehab center further injured my husband's back during rehab. Nurses were nasty and not knowledgeable. Food was inedible. Horrible experience. read more

I recently had the opportunity to attend the Community Day that Roosevelt Rehab posted. This event was great for the community and I could tell by the way the staff interacted with the residents and families that they are caring. what a great way to bring people together ! read more

I love roosevelt a second time there for my husband, and they do a really good job they checked his nails, both feet and hands, and do a guick manicured. I Know they are busy, and I know they can't get to them right away but they do try very hard,and they are very nice. read more

What a disgrace this place is. They give you a number to the nurses station and they never answer. So I call the front desk and this lady tells me they might be busy. I explain me and my brothers have been calling for 3 days, over 100 phone calls and not once did they answer. Her amazing, professional response, " Oh, they don't be at that phone lots" What the f**k kind of hellhole is this? My mother has been neglected, they won't heat up any food, they are so lazy they just avoid patients. Hospital administrators hide from you and keep shifting the blame instead of acknowledging the obvious problem with this pathetic staff. read more

HORRIBLE PLACE. They Left my Mother in severe pain for three days. Was not allowed to visit as she tested positive for Covid. Difficult to get the staff on phone and when you do they are not very helpful at all. One nurse actually had the nerve to tell me to get your mother out of here to another place if you are not happy. I take into consideration that All this occurred during Labor day weekend with limited staff and no Doctor. That is no excuse to leave someone in pain for 3 days straight. NOT AT ALL ACCEPTABLE TO BE RUDE EITHER. Keep your Family out of this terrible place. Getting her out of there Immediately. read more

I usually don't write reviews but my mom was recently in rehab at this facility. I wish there were negative ratings. I never experienced a group of workers that were so cold and uncaring towards their patients. If you rang for them they would not answer. My mother sat in her own feces for one half hour before anyone strolled in. The aides spent more time at the desk than with patients. I could go on but you hopefully get my point. If you care about your loved ones stay away! read more

A family member was at this facility for 1 1/2 months. The staff are basically nice and helpful. Most of the staff really care about their patients. Facility is clean and kept clean on a daily basis. The food is descent although occasionally not the best of temperature. Like any similar facility, at times they seem a little under staffed. Parking is not adequate in the front of the building as often you have to park in the rear of the building and walk a good distance to the front door. The five handicapped parking spaces are nearly always taken. If you need to speak to a doctor about your family member, lots of luck with that. It is difficult to get any sort of medical update on your family member. The doctors don't seem to have a regular schedule for visits so you never know when to be there when they do rounds. The front desk has no idea when the doctor will come. I've left numerous messages asking the doctor to call me at home, but in 1 1/2 months, not a single phone call. No one seems to be inclined to keep the family updated on the patient's condition. As for therapy, you have to make appointments with therapy in advance; you can not otherwise ask questions or be in the therapy room. My family member deteriorated greatly during the stay and I could not get anyone to show any concern. I indicated a couple of times that perhaps the patient should go to ER. The response was, "for what?". I'm not a medical professional but I knew that something was very wrong. The patient's condition changed a lot but no one would recognize the downward change. They claimed the patient was refusing to do therapy or to assist in transfer from wheelchair to bed. No one questioned if there might be a medical reason for the downward function even though verbally the patient was not communicating very much either. There were aids that were very caring and others were abusive. A couple of the aids basically pick the patient up and slam them down on the bed causing my patient pain. One left the patient with head on one side of the bed and feet on the other, did not see to the patient's comfort and just laugh when leaving the room. A second aid was a witness and did nothing but stand at doorway. One aid said that she was not a maid during a time that my patient was not able to do hardly anything for herself! I finally stopped being nice and told them that my patient needs to go to ER ASAP. If they were not going to take action, I would call 911 myself. They finally agreed and did a non-emergency transport after a few hours. Upon getting to ER, it was determined that the patient was suffering from at least 3 mini-strokes. Not one of the staff questioned as to why a patient would stop communicating in more than one word at a time or be unable to move arms/legs as they had been earlier during their stay at the facility. The doctors, rehab staff and nurses failed to recognize that something was wrong and did not take the situation seriously! If you might ask why a complaint wasn't made while my patient was there, two complains were made and it seemed that doing so seemed to cause certain staff to take revenge upon my patient. So we learned to not file complaints while staying there. Some staff were even more abusive from that point forward. read more

If I could leave a negative star I would. This facility was pathetic. They wouldn't even brush my mother's teeth after repeated request. My poor sister had to take care of her. She was not taken out of bed unless my sister was there!!!! She was not walked to the bathroom and ended up with rashes due to their negligence. If you want your loved one cared for and taken care of with dignity do not go to this facility! read more

DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS FACILITY!!! Our Mother was in for under 2 months and it was a nightmare right up to her death. I was in the process of obtaining a hidden camera through the state as there were strong allegations of abuse from certain aides and we needed to know what was really going on until we could move her. I never was able to get the camera as my Mother passed away there a day before i was to get it. The worst part was that there was a DNR order (do not resuscitate) and they lost it. My Mother was dead for 3 minutes and was brought back resulting in a horrifying experience for her and our family. We had to remove her off of life support and she had to die again. That is certainly the worst mistake a facility could make on top of all of their other missteps. I can't tell you how many times i went there and she had no water and her meals were not of the proper dietary guidelines that should have been followed for her conditions.The horrible memories of the 24 hours in the hospital prior to taking her off of life support will live with us forever- and should NEVER have occurred. The suffering we all endured, especially my Mom was all due to their incompetence. I'm praying that all the authorities we will be contacting will shut their doors- they have no business being in business. STAY AWAY!!! And the only reason i gave them one star was because i had to to post this- i give them infinite negative stars- that is what they earned. read more

I don't believe that I have unrealistic expectations when it comes to sub-acute rehab, however, even with those standards Roosevelt Care Center GREATLY disappointed me and my family. I had my 91 year-old grandmother go there and could not believe the impatience, incompetence and attitude of the staff. On more than a handful of occasions we were left waiting 30-35 minutes for someone to come and toilet her, several times I would get a phone call from her crying (this was not usual for her) that they forgot about her so I myself would call the nurses station explaining that she needed to use the bathroom and they would STILL take an additional 30 minutes to go and help her. Aside from that the staff (not all, but enough in my opinion) were rude and seemed to consider med pass the only part of their job that mattered. The issue with response time and sheer rudeness of some of the staff were not the only issues we faced during her time there; they didn't consider her 10 lb weight loss to be concerning and when I asked for the doctor to be contacted because we found it concerning I was told by the nurse, " you have to call yourself since that is a family concern." How her weight loss does not concerning to her medical team really baffled me. Aside from several apologies during our stay nothing was actually addressed or made better. read more
