The moment we walked in the door, two warm and reassuring faces welcomed us from the reception desk with beaming smiles, letting us know that everything was going to be okay. I assumed that this was typical protocol for first time visitors--akin to the welcoming committee at death row--and that the grim reality of weekly occupational therapy would quickly set in. My assumption was soon proven wrong after his initial observations with Brittany, a compassionate, smiley therapist who greets our son by name and, after only a few weeks of therapy, knows his strengths, weaknesses, and predilections fluently. With a waiting room fully stocked with developmentally appropriate toys and books and a whole slew of awesome therapy equipment inside, our son can't wait for Tuesdays at OTAP. The only challenge I would mention is access to the office.
