There aren't enough reviews about the wonderful massage services offered at Roosevelt Chiropractic. I began seeing Massage Therapist Georgia as an adjunct to my chiropractic treatment. The chiropractic need is gone, but realizing the dramatic impact on my mood (I'm far calmer than I used to be and more receptive to my clients) I began receiving massage once a week. Georgia provides the right touch whether it's deep tissue or lighter relaxation massage. She is very perceptive when finding points of stress --providing the right amount of pressure without being painful. She is also good at focusing on areas of concern while still addressing the body as a whole. The "Spa`ah" club is offered at Roosevelt Chiropractic, where for different monthly fees the client can receive a set number of massages a month and in the process save a great deal of money. I'm allergic, and I found it quite off putting, not coming back. I thought it was maybe just a weird mishap but the second visit was just as bad. Mediocre care and not really that enticing enough to return. This is legit one of the best chiropractic offices I have ever been too! Both Dr. Stuck and Dr. Rooks are really wonderful! I mostly stick work with Dr. Stuck as he is familiar with my injury history (my preference) but in a pinch Dr. Rooks is very good at adjusting your back. I suffer from SI joint dysfunction and have had random flare ups in the morning many times, either Dr. Stuck or Dr. Rooks can really alleviate the pain. Let me start out with this: I work at a local fast food place... Don't get me wrong, the job is good, but it takes a lot out on the body sometimes... I haven't injured myself until now (2.5 years in...) so I must've been doing something right until now... Until last week. I hurt my back so badly, if I hiccuped, it sent shooting pain all over my back and right side. Laughing a little too hard? Pain. Turn slightly? PAIN. You get my point. I came in with my boyfriend and I decided to do something about my pain. I scheduled an appointment for an adjustment and immediately I felt the pain relief. I scheduled an appointment for a massage for the day after, and so far, dramatically less pain. Another adjustment the day after that? It has improved. This was even between shifts at work where I now (temporarily) robotically shuffle around. Now, my back feels so much better... you don't know how bad it can be until you go and hurt your body. I'm still in the process of treatment, but out of the few sessions I've had plus a massage, there are no complaints from me! What I also like that I didn't like with my other chiropractors is that the whole process is very straightforward and I have not felt like I was told too little or too much... perfect amount of explanations! ALSO: There are two massage therapists (that I know of...) in the same office space with the chiropractors. I have seen both of them and they have helped me along with adjustments. but I really want to emphasize that all the sessions that I've had so far have been so helpful in working out the pain that I've been experiencing... I've been going to Dr. J for about four years. After being told for years by friends that I should try chiropractic (I thought they were witch doctors) I went in to give Dr. J a try. After that first appointment I walked out feeling better than I had in years...and a true believer. I had a spinal injury years ago which effects the alignment quite a bit. Throw on top of that a lot of bike racing and running, and my back can get quite messed up at times. Dr. J keeps me in alignment, which means better posture, much less back problems and better performance. After being reassured by a kind receptionist that requesting chiropractic treatment two months after a car accident does not make me A Bad Person, I settled on Roosevelt Chiropractic because they were close to my apartment. Dr. Hobbs did a fantastic job with letting me know where I was at in terms of the injury, how the process of fixing it would go, and what to expect along the way. I also got the chance to meet Dr. Jyringi for one of my sessions; both of the doctors are extremely good at what they do. My treatment plan also included massages from Susan Werkema whose office is conveniently located on the other side of the office -- she practices neuromuscular therapy, which resulted in some of the best massages I've ever gotten. There was never any pushiness; the treatment schedule was based entirely on how I was progressing with my injury. *Everyone* was so nice and pleasant, even when I forgot my appointment times or arrived late. Plus, all of the treatment rooms have bowls of candy! All in all, I feel the treatment I received at Roosevelt Chiropractic went above and beyond all my expectations, and while I hope to never be in another situation where I need chiropractic care again (*knocks on wood*), I wouldn't hesitate to entrust my care to them. read more

I see Dr.Stuck and he changed my life! I have a long history of back/sciatica pain since I was about 12, at 15 I had back surgery on the left side to fix that. It helped but then I was having pain on the left side, I didn't want surgery and was just living with the pain. You can never get enough 5-star ratings. Positive reinforcement can only do good. I have a terrible back, I need regular adjustments or very bad things happen at very inconvenient moments. Dr. Jyringi starts each visit with 15 minutes of traction, which I like sometimes, but if I'm in pain I end up breathing through. His adjustment technique is very thoughtful and personalized. He's great at finding my sore spots before I even tell him they're there. Always incredibly friendly - it's so nice to be around positive people. Speaking of, the office staff is so great. I found this place in May of 2007 when my arm hurt so badly when moved away from my body that I could barely do anything. And as a student with a job, this was A.Bad.Thing. As a student with a job, I kept weird hours. Hours that most normal places don't abide by. A doctor's appointment after 5:00? Yeah, right. Nice try. Luckily, this place was open until 7:00pm and was able to fit me in same day. Never having been to a chiropractor before I didn't know what to expect. What I found was wonderful. Dr. Jyringi is a super nice man and very good at what he does. He took care of my shoulder/arm problem in no time and also made my back feel better. (And here I thought it was impossible while hauling around textbooks!) This place was been wonderful to me and I've recommended it to several people in need of chiropractic clinics. Every time I go in, they remember my name and the events going on in my life. The receptionist even remembered me when I happened to run into her when I was out on Halloween. This clinic is absolutely fantastic! Let's start with the basics: great location right off of the freeway and major bus routes... and the miracle that is free parking! The office is clean, warm, and inviting. (And decorated every holiday - one of my favorite things!) The front desk staff really take the time to get to know you and treat you like family. You can tell just from being in the waiting area for a few minutes that many folk have been going here for years! And the doctors are wonderful! At one point in time, my neck was thrown out so badly that I was crying from the pain. Dr. J was gentle and understanding and took great care of me. I highly recommend this place for anyone in need of a chiropractor. I've went to chiropractors before and never found any luck finding improvements in some of the back pain I've accumulated over the years. I visited this place due to a recent car accident and instantly found long-term relief in some of the painful areas after only a couple of visits. Dr. Stuck seems very knowledgable in the field and always provides reasonings on why each part is causing pain and gives at home tips to help improve it. I also found the massage therapist, Nicole, to be very amazing. After a couple of adjustments, Dr. Stuck recommended me to visit Nicole to help with the recovery process. Nicole provides great thorough deep tissue massages. After experiencing lower-back pain from doing daily activities and extracurricular for the past 3 years I wanted to check out a chiropractor because this pain was halting my overall way of living. Luckily, I found this place because it was the nearest chiropractic facility by my house, not only that they seemed to be the most affordable. I was very fortunate. I highly recommend this place. They provide a calm yet profession space for clients, and the practice is legit. After the sessions you can definitely tell the difference. I went through a long process of healing, but it's safe to say that my lower-back pain was reduced tremendously to the point that I don't even notice it anymore, and that's big for me. I came in for adjustments during the three years I lived in Seattle, mostly with Dr. Stuck, but I did occasionally see Dr. Tibbetts and Dr. Jyringi. 10 years ago, I was in an accident that left my back so out of sorts that I couldn't pick up more than one pound with my left arm. My right was also bad, but not nearly as bad as my left. Within six months of starting treatment, I was cured. Literally. I didn't have to go back to the doc until 2010, when I was injured again (in another car accident). And again, a few cracks and yanks here and there, and I am all fixed up. It's nice to have a chiropractor that actually fixes you so that you DON'T have to come back. I am thoroughly impressed!!! Short Version: This review is long overdue. I first visited Dr. J at Roosevelt Chiropractic three years ago. At the time, I was experiencing an extraordinarily severe flare-up of a chronic neck problem I've been dealing with for several years. I tried all my usual tricks like ice, heat, and OTCs to no avail. It was so painful I couldn't sleep. I called a friend and she suggested I find a local Chiro. Dr. J at Roosevelt totally relieved my pain. Long Version: My previous experience with Chiro had me pretty turned-off to it. A few years prior I had seen a guy who, to treat my neck, instead of doing assertive adjustments, used a 1970s-looking "laser" gun on my neck, sorta touched my neck a little, put me on a traction machine, and gave me oral supplements to take home. Voodoo. I was turned off. Then I met Dr. J. The first time I went to Roosevelt, Dr. J was extremely concerned about my pain. I was a relatively young, fairly in shape kinda guy. He took the time to listen and went straight to work. I was hurting so bad that I was frankly concerned about letting anyone touch my neck, let alone someone I didn't know. He delicately assessed the location of the pain and explained to me the adjustments he wanted to attempt. He was sure to take the time to answer all of my questions. One physical maneuver he did, which he let me know would be a more assertive type of adjustment, completely relieved my pain (except for some tenderness etc afterward.) He was very patient as I frankly was being a baby about my neck, but he put me in a position, set me up, and when he did the adjustment there was a loud crack and I shrieked like an adolescent girl. (To this day we joke about this.) The crack wasn't like a back-crack sound, it was a deeper more internal sound in my neck, if that makes sense. There was immediately a split-second of extreme pain exactly where the pain seemed to be coming from in my neck. I laid there for a few seconds afraid to move, but when I did, the pain was gone. All the way gone. At the time, I was a UW student, former military, former cop, late 20s. I'm presently a few years older and in law school. Pretty straightforward kind of guy. I was nothing less than blown away by what had happened. I kid you not, I went home and called friends and family and told them that some random Chiro literally cured my neck pain. I then saw Dr. J for several months for therapeutic treatment. Of course, that one adjustment did not and could not magically make the underlying injuries to my neck disappear. The more I saw him though the more I noticed sustained improvement. I saw another Dr. in the office and they are awesome too, but after my experience I frankly will not see anyone other than Dr. J. I'm a no-BS kinda guy, and it's pretty meaningful to me that this guy was able to relieve pain that was making my eyes water. Unfortunately, I moved to the other side of Seattle, so I don't get to see him as often. Because his office doesn't take Tri-West (hoping they reconsider at some point), after I moved I tried seeing a Chiro who does, who's closer to where I live. He was ok, but he lacked the extensive experience and abilities of Dr. J, and was unable to replicate the adjustment that Dr. J used for me. Thus, a couple months ago, when my neck was acting up, I called Roosevelt. Dr. J is extremely good at what he does. It frankly takes a lot for me to praise someone like this. The rest of the staff there is very awesome as well. I do PT and rehab for my neck etc. I wish I could see Dr. J more as part of that, but when it's acting up and I need relief, I feel like I'm calling in the big guns when I call Dr. J. read more

I emailed the office earlier this week about insurance and received a prompt reply from Charmaine. I called today and she fit me in today which was amazing because my back pain was unbearable and my old chiropractor wasn't doing it for me. I saw Dr. J and he was the kindest man and didn't give up on my back when it wouldn't adjust, he just tried another way. In the past I have had other chiros just give up if they couldn't get my upper back to adjust. He was thorough and understanding and I think I would have given him a hug if I could have! He even told me that if I didn't feel like he was a good fit for me that I could see the other doctors in his office. Talk about an ego-less man. You can sense from him and his office staff right away they really care and want to help and support their patients. Charmaine was so kind and helpful through the whole process.
