Dr. Dan is a true master. My work requires that I sit for long durations, although I try to stand at my standing desk when I remember to. This, coupled with still being quite active as I age, has inevitably led to some new injuries like a slipped SI joint and external hip rotation with knee pain-both of which scared the heck out of me. However, Dr. Dan was able to fix both issues using his gentle and effective chiropractic touch. It only took one visit for each injury-although I try to visit about once a month to get adjusted. He also gives excellent aftercare advice so that the healing process continues smoothly. If you are a somewhat sedentary desk worker who is also very active once you remove yourself from the glowing screen and have back, hip, knee, or other joint pain, my advice would be to see Dr. Dan at Core Chiropractic. I had a doozy of a fall years ago and sustained several injuries. I've been to all kinds of providers and done more than two years of physical therapy to help regain strength, balance and symmetry. I was afraid to try chiropractic due to an unfortunate experience I had 20 years ago with a chiropractic adjustment ( the cracking kind). I got a personal recommendation from someone I trust to see Dr. Dan at core chiropractic and wellness. The recommendation was so strong that I got past my anxiety and made an appointment. My appointment was on a Saturday morning. He listened to my background story and did an assessment of my current alignment and multiple residual issues. The treatment was very gentle. Nothing cracked and I felt comfortable the entire time... yet I could feel things changing. When I left the office that day I felt more balanced in my legs already! Over the next couple of days I could feel things shifting favorably throughout my rib cage and my neck. (all issues from the accident). What blew my mind was for the first time in eight months I had energy!!!! I never mentioned my fatigue nor expected help with it... but holy guacamole I was like my " old" self in the very best way! Over the next few days I followed my normal routine and swore my vision had improved. I wear glasses for driving and distance. I found I was heading off to work and would be down my driveway before realizing I wasn't wearing my glasses-this happened several times, it was not a fluke. Another day I was sitting on the couch with my dog having coffee in the morning like we often do. I realized I could see further down the street( clearly) then I had in years. As a bodyworker myself, I'm pretty particular about receiving work. I have seen Dr Dan for years and he is absolutely amazing. I love that his work is precise, but gentle - no thrusting or yanking your head. He is definitely is NOT one of these "must come 4 times a week" kinda guy either. I always feel I have control of my body, and in charge of my care - definitely a partner in care vs authoritarian. He also has a pretty fair cash rate if you don't have insurance - I have Group Health and I pay cash to see him instead. Plus he is super cool. How can you beat that? Here's how: I suffered a debilitating fall 6 years ago. Not only am I walking, I work 25-30 hours a week as a massage therapist. Dan helped me get through those tough times to a complete recovery! He is funny, personable, great with kids, gives awesome self-care tips and explains things so you'll understand. He doesn't do x-rays, he does very thorough postural and range-of-motion assessments. He saw my son after a hard fall, predicted he'd only need 6 adjustments, ended up only needing to be 4. He is not one to insist on continual care, though it does benefit. He mainly uses a powered adjusting tool which is so subtle, like a little nudge. He has the manual one but he demonstrates that the power one is less forceful yet just as effective. No cracking or popping from this guy! The ambiance is soothing, dim lighting, asian decor, plants, and an array of music. Have referred others here and they have thanked me! After last minute cancellations and not actually being put into the schedule for an appointment after making one on the phone, I finally saw Dr. Dan. It cost 150 dollars for a ten minute adjustment, the benefit of which I do not feel. The real reason I am writing this negative review though is because the receptionist that booked my appointment actively misled me about their billing practices. I was put in an extremely embarrassing situation--after confirming they would accept my insurance when I made the appointment, as well as confirming it again in person before I went through with the appointment, they presented me with a bill right after my session that they demanded I pay immediately. It was the exact same person that I had discussed payment with earlier who did this. I ended up overdrawing my checking in a frantic effort to pay a bill I did not even anticipate. read more

This review is specifically for Dr. Christy Lee-Engel (Naturopath and Acupuncturist). I went to her for help with migraines and a few other health issues. I had tried acupuncture and homeopathy several times in the past without success but was at my wits end and thought, it'd been several years and so, why not try again? To be honest, the treatments, again, did not alleviate my symptoms. So why the 5 stars? Because I've been to lots of doctors before - all different kinds - and I've seriously never had someone give me the quality of attention and focus that Dr. Christy gave to me. She is amazingly present, listens to every word, remembers, thinks about what could possibly be going on even when she is not in the room with me. Often, she'll come into a session with thoughts from the previous one. Once, she called me at home and pointed out to me that a serious symptom I was having could be a result of a side effect from a medication another doctor had prescribed - she had scoured my medical records looking for some explanation as to why.... and came up with a hypothesis that made sense. She gives my opinions weight but sets me straight if I'm wrong. She educates so that her patients can use information to become independent and make good choices. And, outside of the fact that she is an outstanding professional, she is simply a delightful, warm, and compassionate being - that, in and of itself, is quite healing. I have decided to discontinue my treatments because, ultimately the migraines were not being affected, but I highly recommend Dr. Lee-Engel and will not hesitate to see her again for other health conditions that might arise. I haven't gone here for chiropractic work, but I've seen Dr. Josh for acupuncture and Ruth for massage and both were WONDERFUL! I started coming here due to a hip flexor injury at the beginning of a marathon training cycle. Dr. Josh helped get it in check right away, and Ruth has been amazing at maintaining its happy status. She has also helped nip other potential injuries in the bud as I've ramped up the miles (calf pain, hamstring pain, etc).
