However, I did not want a fade (we used to call them "white walls"). Jacob listened to the kind of cut I wanted and did exactly as I requested. For 20 years, every place I've been to in the RGV, the barber wants to used clippers and zip up the sides. Jacob knows how to use clippers, but he took his time and did the job with scissors, and I love the results. All the while, great conversation, a positive and professional atmosphere, clean shop, friendly people... AND very affordable. Highly recommended. The Upper Room Barbershop is located on the south side of the little strip mall on the corner of North 23rd and W. Ivy St. Facing the building from 23rd St., go around the left side where the parking lot is, and in the rear you will see the back entrance with the barber's pole sign. There are multiple suites through the door, and The Upper Room Barbershop is the first one on the left.
