Making an appointment was quite easy after I'd described what I was looking for. When I arrived for my appointment, I was offered my choice of assorted coffees, teas & freshly baked goods. My jacket was hung & I was given a tour. The salon is quite lovely. Each time I've been there, the staff has always been friendly, thoughtful, patient, & helpful. They're a real team of skilled pros. After I've spoken w/Kelly or Elizabeth at length, they asked questions & made recommendations based on the shape of my head, texture of my hair, preferences, & other factors. They really took their time working w/me & /(the other clients, I noticed, many of whom I know). Then they brought me back to the soothingly dimly lit shampoo room. They played soft music & explained the products they were using before they began shampooing, thoughtfully checking my comfort level w/the water temp, etc. The bonus is that they give you a Wonderful head & neck massage while they're shampooing & conditioning! Next come the warm towels on the neck--ahhh! How luxurious! They cut & styled my hair, making light conversation w/me and the others in the salon. They gave me tips & guided me through every step of the way. I loved my hair & have gotten many compliments & inquiries. And, to boot, the prices were so reasonable. The stylist explained to me that their notes go directly into the computer, "so we can keep track of what we did step-by-step & the results. Then next time, we can either duplicate that or make adjustments." And, they all work together as a team, so if my regular stylist isn't available & I'm in a pinch, one of the others can pick up from there. They also help each other throughout the day. It's "A Paul Mitchell Focus Salon" & the owner, Catherine is also a National Educator for Paul Mitchell. All the stylists have ongoing education which translates into the latest techniques & styles! It's been quite a pleasant, satisfying experience each & every time, & they have a wide range of services that I'll be trying. I am so happy w/that I wish I'd come here sooner!! I had heard a lot of wonderful things about this salon, and Kiley specifically, so I was SO happy to be able to book an appointment with her. She really listened to me when I described to her what I was looking for in a hair style and we agreed on a layered, angled bob. She did an amazing job. I LOVE it. The salon is beautiful. Kiley gave me a little tour of the place before I sat down to get my cut and I loved the design. It was very warm and comforting to be there. The staff all seem really happy to be working there and working with each other. It really instilled confidence in me as a client knowing that the stylists are happy to be working there. After Christmas I went back for color and again, Kiley did a fantastic job. I was so happy with the results. It was exactly what I wanted. I think that if you're looking for a new salon, I definitely recommend The Hair and Color Studio. They're a very busy salon, so definitely call for an appointment first. I wanted the results of a Keratin but didn't have $350 to spend!!! I went to see Savenia, who was warm, funny, welcoming, and a great hairdresser! She just closed down her own business for commuting reasons and her experience shows. She gave me the express Keratin treatment (I think they called it a Keratin Blowout) - for about $120 - which has made my thick, frizzy hair SO much more manageable and smooth during this horrible heat and humidity. She also gave me a nice haircut, taking out a lot of the weight in my thick, thick hair and giving me some nice layers. The salon is a little hard to find (on the second floor above the Indian restaurant) but is stylish and comfortable. The prices were really reasonable. I'll definitely be going back and would highly recommend Savenia to anyone!

I don't know how Nikki does it, but she has brought me to a pale blonde, not yellowish, that I was always looking for. Nikki is an expert in fantasy color, but she's exceeded my expectation in my blonde color. I haven't written a review in a while, but I had to write after our appointment last week. Not only did Nikki knock it out of the park once again with the color, but she also cut my hair. She did as I asked and gave me long layers. No, not the point. the point was the rudeness and condescending tone.

I drove by the salon on my way home each day and it always looked cheery and clean so I gave it a try. I got an appointment and hour after I called with no wait at all. Sherma immediately made me feel comfortable and gave me an amazing cut. My Afro hasn't looked this good in years!
