Office experience is great the Dr.(s)and staff were pleasant to work with. However after learning that I required multi visits and I had to take care of my Dental INS on my own (or they would kindly send out the invoice(s) I had to pause my procedure the day I showed up for my appt. and was informed I had to pay over 3K for that visit to begin. I'm not sure why I didn't catch this after my initial exam but I didnt. Thankfully the pain was manageable and eventually I was ready to reschedule my "Dental Project" only to be told they elected NOT to do my work and to take a hike. (maybe not in those exact words) I was flabbergasted. I have never had this type of experience ever in my life w/ a Dr./Practice. It was hard enough to get used to the fact that it seemed I had to go to 3 Dentistry firms to get my work done. Al-la carte? Each of these had their own initial visit appt. and of course they were spread out among the capitol region. Needless to say, thanks for wasting MY time and money with the false hopes of having my problems resolved. Referred by dentist. Made appt 10/10 for 10/14 at 3:30. Asked a bunch of intake questions by office manager including if I would use sedation. Advised absolutely not. Completed online intake. Called at 2:28 day of to come at 3. Advised I was 30 minutes away. Not happy and will tell Dr, fear in voice. Called at 2:48 asked where I was, that it was 2:50 and I was required to be there at 2:45 for my 3:00 appt. Get there and staff is overwhelmed huffing and puffing, clearly unhappy. Training multiple people- never a good sign in a very small office. Dr. Francisco A. Banchs comes in criticizes my previous root canal and endodontist. States hole drilled is huge, it's not centered, he destroyed to wide of my tooth surface. Then comes the sales pitch of his perfect technique and equipment. He *thinks* I may have another root due to how the previous root canal was not centered, but cannot guarantee and cannot show me proof of this or infection on my images. He then tells me how he'll fix it and tells me about sedation. He states he requires as it is 2.5 hours and I cannot move. It would not be safe without. I said absolutely not. He tried to convince me otherwise. I refused. I have had 4 wisdom teeth removed, 3 regular teeth removed, 3 implants drilled and placed into my bone, 2 root canals both needing a second treatment, a crown lengthening procedure all without sedation and just with local. I absolutely will not have dental work with sedation in an office setting without an anesthesiologist. He acted like an angry child and told his assistant we'll just send the notes over then. I then went to the receptionist, who happened to be the office manager Lisa that booked my appt. I asked her why I was even allowed to schedule after being asked if I will use sedation and adamantly refusing(she was able to verify I told her this on my intake and she documented it). I advised this was a waste of my time and money, and felt very scam like. You could tell she agreed and was afraid to say anything. Her response was some people change their minds. I advised I should have been provided this information on the phone, so I could make that decision and decide who to see. I requested my records including his note and my intake paperwork, which still have not been provided to me as of December. I was told by office manager and provider they would be mailed to me. I was then offered to see the other doctor- his wife, as she will do without. I asked why it is safe for her to do and not him? I was told she drills bigger holes. So I just sat through this Dr criticizing the prior work, but his own wife does subpar work in his opinion. I wouldn't want to be his wife. I've discussed with my dentist and another endodontist that sedation is never needed in this case and is patient choice. I was also told I do not have another root and this provider just chose to show an odd cut of a ct to back up his findings. So he was trying to do thousands of dollars in work for no reason. His technique also is not supported by major endodontist programs. I've asked for my $395 consult fee to be refunded and they've refused. They should've given me the choice of who to see knowing prior to appointment I advised I would not do sedation. Had a very unfortunate and uncomfortable experience for what should have been a mostly comfortable, routine procedure at the Albany practice yesterday. Dr. Banchs was very dismissive when I tried to report pain/sensation during the procedure, which was disappointing because he knew in advance that I typically require more anesthetic from my both primary dentist's referral and my initial consult/intake information. He was quick to dismiss my discomfort as anxiety rather than pain (maybe because I'm a woman), and was frustrated by physical cues that indicated discomfort, which I resorted to because I was unable to communicate verbally during the procedure. I would not recommend Root Canal Experts or Francisco Banchs. read more

Simply the BEST!! My dentist gave me a couple of names saying that if it was his wife he would use Root Canal Experts and if I couldn't get in with them this other office is less expensive but a little subpar equipment. He also said do not go to anyone else in the area unless I check with him first.... . I was so happy with Dr Banchs he was able to save my front teeth ( due to an accident 35 years ago) I was told by several dentist that they would have to be replaced with implants. His office was amazing !!! The Dr actually called to check on me and gave me his personal cell phone number in case I had any questions or concerns. I cannot say enough good things!!! read more

Highly disappointed with this practice. I chose them for my Root Canal based on a conversation with their staff. She emphasized how their root canals never fail. I fell for it. Their prices are so high. I am sure to help pay for their fancy Saratoga Office. I could live with the high price if they lived up to their promise. They did not. I have had nerve type pain from that tooth ever since. I told them that. Dr. Banchs dismissed me saying it was normal. My dentist referred me back after 10 months as I still had the nerve pain. Dr. Banchs followed up by asking the dentist to adjust my bite. My dentist thought my bite was fine but made the minor adjustment. I still had pain. Dr. Banchs said it was due to inflammation. Three years later I still have pain. My dentist referred me back as this has not resolved on its own. They want to charge me hundreds of dollars for a consultation and Xray. I now know why their staff thinks they don't fail - it is just they will not admit it. They finished by telling me that root canals can have a mind of their own. Save you money and find someone better. read more

If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would. Dr Banchs and his staff went faaaaar above and beyond to alleviate my pain. I had been having severe tooth pain which turned into jaw pain while I went from dentist to oral surgeon back to dentist. When I finally found Dr. Banchs, they were able to get me for a consultation within a couple of days because of a (fortunate) cancellation. By that time, the pain was also in my ear! His staff did a 3D x-ray scan of my mouth, then he showed me what was going on - he found the problem that the dentists and oral surgeons hadn't. He said I definitely needed a root canal. As I was scheduling my return on Friday for the procedure (it was now Tuesday, at 3:15pm), Dr Banchs said something to the scheduler on the side. Then she asked if I could get to a pharmacy and back by 4:00 - they were going to do the procedure that day! We raced down the road to Market 32 pick up the prescription she had called in, got the meds, popped a pill and raced back to the office (my wife drove....). As we were entering, Dr. Banchs told my wife that he asked his staff to stay late - IN A BLIZZARD - to help me out because he didn't think I'd be able to stand the next 2 days. AMAZING!!! The procedure went as easily as it possibly could. They put on a movie (of my choice) and gave me headphones to keep me entertained during the 1 1/2 hour procedure. The Dr was incredibly thoughtful, letting me know what he was going to do each step of the way, what I was going to feel, asking me if I was ok, adding more novocaine where and when necessary. It was pretty much painless. By the time we left, at least 6" of snow had fallen. Those wonderful people stayed late instead of heading home at 4 so I could be comfortable 2 days earlier than I expected. Now I'm sure that this is very unusual - I know how lucky I was. I'm not saying that they'll be able to do that for you, just that that's the type of people they are. They TRULY care about their patients. Today is Friday. I've been pain free since Wednesday morning, and I couldn't be happier. I'm actually looking forward to my follow up visit in a few weeks. Initial visit $ 400. To talk about a root canal and take a picture of the tooth. Had to sign a number of release forms, so they were not responsible for anything after the procedure. Cost of the root canal $2995. Searched for more information and other endodontic's around. The majority were at least $1,400 less. Insurance does not cover root canals. Be sure to shop around. I would never recommend this place. Allison is the rudest, most obnoxious "doctor" I've ever experienced. Her front worker Yelena is completely clueless and has no clue how to do her job. She thinks she is a doctor herself and will give you very incorrect information. I paid $400 for 5 minutes of Allison's rude attitude to get no help at all. I went to another endodontist only to find that I was in fact correct and Allison was so rude and unhelpful and completely blew me off. They didn't even prescribe me the proper medication or dosage and even the pharmacist said that was extremely unprofessional. DO NOT waste your time and money here. Find a specialist that doesn't overcharge because they know people are in pain and desperate. What horrible ethics and morals these "specialists" must have. Again, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND! read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. Required payment upfront, took our insurance card and submitted claims to insurance. I find out through our insurance that they overcharged us by $2,200!!!! And they will not refund my money nor communicate with the insurance and they were a preferred provider (signed contract with insurance in April of this year) so they are bound by the insurance contract to accept the insurance prices......scam, rip off, stay away from this place! read more

If I could give them zero stars I would, these individuals are no better than common crooks. Once they have your money they will disregard your health completely, I lost a permanent tooth due to negligence and dishonesty from these so called health care professionals. This practice should be ashamed of the scare tactics used to trick individuals into spending unnecessary money. I was lied to for 8 weeks a told there was nothing wrong with me, I ended up at a different practice with proof that I was lied to and they still would not rectify the issue, all of this after I paid for the services in full. It's a bit off putting to have your initial contact with a health care provider include an announcement that they don't accept any insurance, but will send paperwork to your carrier and their fee for the consult is $395! The bulk of that fee is panoramic x-rays. Odd that you put a patient through additional exposure to x-rays when their referring dentist just did the same set two weeks prior? Pretty sure with those new-fangled computers, those digital records could be shared. It seem as if the recommendation was decided before I even opened my mouth regardless of my dentist request to be contacted before any treatment. Nope - even though the consulting dentist was looking at films which were identical to those my primary dentist did and I could tell just by her face that there was no definitive diagnosis, I definitely need procedure X....total cost? About $3,400! A little more research tells me this procedure runs $900 - $1700. Are they good at what they do? Can't tell. Can tell that those sky-high fees are how they can afford the lux digs and all the tech bells and whistles. *Oh - if your appointnent is at 9:00am, you need to get there by 8:30am to sit a Surface tablet to complete "paperwork". **The check out is equally fun. They've decided you are having the procedure so you must sign all the pre-surgical docs before you get out the door. read more

I was referred to the Root Canal Experts by my dentist (whom I no longer see mainly do to this referral and because he botched my root canal) after I had an infection appear in a tooth he performed a root canal on. They do not take insurance, but they will submit on your behalf (big whoop). There is a $400 consult fee for the first visit hat was not covered by my insurance. According to the receptionist I dealt with, they submit the claim to insurance providers but she rarely if ever has heard that anyone receives payment for it. The first thing I noticed about their facility in Saratoga Springs was that it was located in a very expense building. Also, there was technology everywhere. TVs in front of you, on the ceiling with Bose noise cancelling headphones and Apple TVs. It was very luxurious, however, I began to see where that $400 consult fee was going. I was prepared to receive that absolute best care. After all, this office was incredibly expensive and the consult fee was about four times as much as other places. Dr. Francisco Banchs entered the room wearing Gucci from head to toe in a hurry. It seemed as though I was disrupting other plans he had for that day. He explained to me that my only course of action was to have surgery. He hurried through the explanation of the apicoectomy and seemed annoyed when I had questions. After all, I was there as the result of an unsuccessful root canal. At $3,800 out of cost expense, I wanted to be knowledgeable. He explained to me that the situation was dire and that infections can spread to the heart resulting in a person becoming incredible sick or result in death. As I sat at the receptionist she told me they needed payment to schedule the surgery. She also disclosed to me that if the Dr. opened me up and determine he could not preform the surgery, I would be entitled to only a 50% refund. Instead of scheduling the surgery I told them that I was going to seek out a second opinion. I got a second opinion and after a quick x-ray it was determined that my dentist only cleared out 3 roots and there was a 4th one that had been missed and causing my infection. He also explained me how an apiconectomy would not have fixed my solution! The consult was $125 of which $100 was covered by my insurance and the retreat was $1400 of which $1100 was covered by insurance. DO NOT GO HERE, they have a fancy and state of the art machine that takes pictures of you. They justify their purchase of this machine by charging an extreme price for their services and try to distract you with bells and whistles. However, that fancy machine somehow missed that all I needed was the last canal that needed to be treated. Dr. Francisco Banchs was rude and egotistical. This was after a 5 minute interaction... The service / dental work I received was excellent. However, their fees are WAY out of line. Root Canal Experts charged me $2,950.00 for the procedure, my insurance company says the normal and customary fee for the procedure is $1,345.00. When I spoke to Root Canal Experts, they would not discount at all. Then to add insult to injury, they told if I could do a 6 month no interest payment plan. Except they didn't tell me that in the beginning, they told me I need to pay 100% at the time of the procedure. read more

I cannot speak highly enough of the Root Canal Experts. They are only slightly more expensive than your average root canal and the service is PHENOMENAL. I've only had Dr. Allison as I think her husband is at the other office sometimes. (Dr.) Allison is a highly skilled, kind, warm, and professional endodontist. Just a small example to highlight how much they go above and beyond - when I went in for my second procedure today, they had stored in my medical chart the film I was watching on AppleTV at the exact minute/second I stopped watching at the last visit. I was again outfitted with noise cancelling headphones, continued the film, and had a pain-free, high-quality procedure. Cannot recommend this office enough. read more

My Dentist arranged an appointment for me to have a root canal at the Saratoga office. My appointment was scheduled for 12:20PM. That morning the office called me to remind me to complete the on-line patient info in their portal. At 11:10AM, the office called acain to tell me Dr. Byrne had to leave the office at 12:30PM and asked if I could I come in at 4:50PM to see Dr, Banch's. I replied, "I could". I then rearranged my schedule for the day. Ten minutes later, I received a call from the office again telling me Dr. Banchs could not see me at 4:50PM because the office closed at 5PM and that time was arranged for emergencies. She then told me if I came in immediately they could see me. I told her I could not come in right then as I was about to shave and shower when she called me ten minutes ago and had been on the phone rearranging my schedule. She told me I either came in within 10 minutes or they would not be able to see me today and I would have to reschedule for the next week. I told her I was leaving town for several weeks on Sunday (my appointment was Friday) and that I needed to see the Dr. that day. She told me they could not accommodate me. I told her that I would find another Endodondist, one that cared more about their patients and the pain they might be in. I would never recommend this office to anyone!!!
