I walked out with Michelle Obama's book in mint condition for $5. Unreal. Inside is full of wall to wall coverage of books and vinyls. Heaven. It's very tidy and everything is organized by genre for both the books and the vinyls. The friendliest man works here - I believe he's the store owner. Very welcoming, softspoken, and extremely knowledgeable. Anytime I have a question, he knows where to point me. Not to mention he's always turning the tunes for a cozy and welcoming feel as you browse. Couldn't recommend this place more. Go check em out!

The first time I stopped by, it was closed, but I called anyway. Eleni answered, and she couldn't have been kinder. She's hard of hearing, but she was incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and genuinely excited to open up and help me find the kinds of records I was looking for. I'm really glad I went back. The selection was great, and what stood out even more was the atmosphere. A couple of other people were there chatting, helping her out, and digging through records of their own. It felt like a true neighborhood record store where people gather because they love music. That's getting harder to find these days. One day I was in this wonderful store,…read moreand I was browsing through the delightful CD selection, when my eyes locked onto a beautiful sight; Crackwhore - Somebody Loves You. This CD is truly a blessing from the heavens and delivered to us via the prophet Robert. This is both the greatest album in history, and the greatest album of today. This is what happens when you search through a vault of precious 24 karat gold, and still manage to leave with the highest quality platinum. This CD ruined all other albums for me, nothing else even holds a candle. The beautiful singing, the masterful guitar work, the majestic drumming, God I can't even accurately describe how exquisite it is. I immediately wished to purchase this masterpiece, but as this work of art was so coveted, as at the time there was zero information easily findable on the internet, the store owner and I reached an agreement. We would do research on how much the CD originally sold for and I would later return to this treasure trove to agree on a price. 1 week later I made my return, and after discovering that it originally sold for an affordable 5 U.S dollars, the prophet Robert, in all of his wondrous generosity, let me have it for 10. That is the story of how I obtained the pinnacle of human expression in music form on one, inexpensive, incredible CD. It's always been super-easy to update my subscription and I love discovering all the pop culture gems when I visit: used records, CDs, DVDs, Disneyana, games, toys, and of course comic books! All at reasonable prices. I love the bins of action figures; you never know who you'll find! Free handicapped parking can be found in the metered lot behind the shop on Chestnut Street. There are also several handicapped spots on Moody Street. Shop is handicapped accessible, though it is a pinch cramped in the back. I've been able to maneuver with a rollator and cane. The prices are almost insulting to other stores. Seriously, I've paid more for a cup of coffee than I have for some of the books here. They've tracked down what I came in looking for, and then somehow convinced me to walk out with three more titles I didn't even know existed. My shelves at home are groaning under the weight of their recommendations, but sure, suggest me another series. Why not. I've been a regular for about a year now, and as long as I live in Massachusetts, this will be one of the few places I actually look forward to throwing money at. I have found many out-of-print and classic recordings there at the many different booths. The different vendors at these shows even offer some discounts occasionally. The shows are two or three months apart. Sign up for email notice of when they occur. In their Randolph store they stock thousands of records and CDs and you can browse for hours, if you want to--no pressure. For any oldies lover, this is the place to go. They have movies, too.

This is a great place to find collectibles/gifts and not just comics. They carry merch for beloved franchises such as Star Wars, Pokemon, Totoro/Studio Ghibli, Pusheen, Rick and Morty, Harry Potter, Stranger Things, etc. Personally, I like to come here for the Amuse plushies (Amuse is the Japanese company that sells the most adorable alpacasso, hamster, and rabbit plushies). You can find the Amuse plushies online, but there's just something satisfying about knowing how soft/fluffy they are before buying. They also carry San-X plushies (Rilakkuma, Sumikko Gurashi, etc). They also have these giant food shaped cushions that are highly popular in Japan (giant slices of meat, sushi, etc). The icing on top of the cake is the fact that I came with my friend, who is visiting from Europe and likes to collect coins. When we checked out, we paid with cash and asked the staff if they could let us pick out some "newer" coins/state quarters, and not only did they say sure, they actually laid out every single coin from their register. (Don't worry, we made sure we weren't holding up any lines.) Anyway, the fact that they were so accommodating with such an odd request really made my day.
