No one likes septic tank issues and when things go south you need them addressed quickly and professionally. Two years ago our pump failed and backed up. Called two other companies that did not share my urgency to fix the issue. Contacted Rooter-Man and they said they would show up the same day even though it may be late; and the did just what they promised. They diagnosed the problem and pumped the tank so we could shower and clean up the house, then returned the next day and replaced the pump at a reasonable cost. Fast forward to yesterday. Tank alarm again. Fearing the pump failed again I called them late and they promised to come out by 1pm the next day. They called at 12:45 and told me they would be a little late, but still showed up 30 min later. Pulled the pump, cleaned it, diagnosed the problem as the float switch, which they promptly fixed. The plumbers were very personable and polite. Everyone I've interacted with from the company provided outstanding customer service and they are now our go-to for any future plumbing needs. I have gotten very good service from Rooterman in the past, but I kept my pants on for no reason on Friday, July 24, 2023 waiting to have my new toilet (which I purchased on the advice of the plumber who came for our last repair) and bidet installed. Instead of a new toilet or phone call, I listened to my old toilet run all weekend. Very disappointed. Scheduled an estimate to have a septic system serviced and risers installed. Technician arrives and didn't even have a prod to determine where the septic tank was located. We provided a schematic from the health department and he said he "wasn't sure" that is where the unit was. He looked under our deck that is probably 15-20 feet away! He said he couldn't provide an estimate because he would have to dig to find the tank...effectively destroying our yard in the process. Would not recommend at all. read more

I had a mixed experience with these guys. I'd recommend looking at other companies to get a fair deal. My story is I had a back up in my home that wouldn't let anything drain. Called them out and they recommended my septic be pumped. it needed an access to do that which wasn't already installed so they came out the very next day and did the job. I got to the house as soon as they were finishing up but they had me sign real quick so they could pack up and leave before I got to really inspect it. I asked if the drains would work ok now and they said they weren't sure! I could tell they were in a rush and not interested so I let 'em go. Unfortunately it wasn't cleared it was still blocked up on the pipe entering the tank. The install and tank pumping was 1800 which we agreed upon. They came out the next day to snake the main pipe out after I let them know the original problem wasn't resolved And charged another 325. I feel they could have snaked the pipe while they were already down there doing the workin the first place instead of charging an extra fee to come out. It seems they would have been aware it was likely blocked since it was backing up into the house. It turned out it wasn't a blockage much further up, just at the site there were already working at. Seemed like poor service to me. I think another company might have taken care of the original issue the first time while they were already out there before charging me so much extra to come back out. I would have really appreciated if they checked the drainage issue with me first before leaving too, which they didn't. Im not convinced its the way they would have handled the job if it was their own house. read more

I had a horrible experience with this company. Called Mon AM due to blockage. They explained fees if under my house vs outside the house (WWTA). Fine. Problem was both, as I explained. They were very interested and responsive to the more expensive WWTA contract, but left me with an indoor blockage after 6 phone calls. They also raised the price to address my indoor blockage 3 times from Mon-Fri. By Friday, I called another company as I could not go without using my kitchen sink any longer and I refused to cave to their extortion. Unfortunately, they still seem to be the assigned company through WWTA. I have zero trust in them so am doing my best to have that changed. They are the reason I now have to pay someone to come clean sewage out of my basement. If they had addressed it the first time I asked, I would not have had the spillage I now have. read more

I had a horrible experience with this company. They advised me that I need a field line repair on my septic tank, so the gentleman came out and excavated my backyard around the septic tank and dug up a large area and couldn't find my field lines. He then tells me my home is 50 years old and my field lines had probably disintegrated. Then he charges me $950.00 for doing nothing but digging up my backyard. Then this company charged me $100.00 to have a state inspector come out to provide a recommendation. The state inspector comes out and in less than 5 minutes finds my field lines. After the inspector sent Rooterman the report, I was contacted by them to tell me the estimate of repair would be $6,000. I used another company that completed the repair for $1,250. Beware of this company... You've been warned. read more

I have used the company's service several times. The quality of the work is generally professional and good. However it really depends on the technician you get. My most recent service got a technician that was quite skilled. But he left my home a total mess. He tracked mud through the house, moved things around in the bathroom and garage that were just left all over the floor, left debris from drilling on the floor and old piping in the floor of my garage. I know this is not standard because the last person that came out the time before was neat and he cleaned (shop vac) and replaced everywhere he worked. read more

The tech was very rude from the start. He parked at a neighbor property, refused to move truck, refused to identify himself or introduce. Refused to provide any preliminary estimate or information, rude to my tenant, refused to provide any update info while working, no mask was worn, work was not authorized, he requested pymt of over $200 and refused to provide information on repairs, took my credit card info and made me sign 3 blocks with no detail or receipt. He again refused to give me his name, once paid he left without saying a word, no thanks and no goodbye, he left my tenants doors wide open and I had to go over and close. I called the office to find out his name. She stated his name was Jacob and that a supervisor would call me right back which never happened. I assume I was scammed. read more

Don't get me wrong the tech was nice enough. My problem lies in the ridiculous charge of $270 for a total of 30 minutes of being in my house. He used no new parts and only reattached my already existing shower diverter handle. Needless to say I was blown away when told the price at the end. We called rooter man to snake out a clogged drain. After snaking it for 200 dollars and water jetting it for 600 dollars, the issue was still not solved. In addition, they left a foot of standing water in my basement from the water jetting and refused to clean it up. They were great! Our sink was leaking really bad and we called on Saturday. They were out to the house within 2 hours. The next day they came back to install the faucet and it was on a Sunday and they were here within an hour. Very thankful they came so quickly and were able to completely fix the problem. Although the price was a little harsh, we can now wash dishes without the floor flooding and us needing a canoe to get from the kitchen to the back door. read more

They tried to double the cost of purging our septic tank. We called around and got much more honest and better deal. Try somewhere else.

Rooter-Man was contracted to replace a sewage grinder pump for my 4 bedroom 3.5 bath home. This pump is the main unit that expels the sewage waste from my home's plumbing system. Rooter-Man installed a different brand pump than what was currently in my home, and when I questioned the technician as to why he installed a different pump, he told me the pump he installed was better. The repair was made 5/31/2016, and on 2/5/2017 the pump stopped working. I removed the pump and looked up the information on it and found out it was not the right pump for this system. Rooter-Man installed an Effluent or "dewatering" pump instead of a Grinder pump for actual solid sewage waste. The Zoeller 267 pump has a plastic impeller that is not designed to handle the waste content of a 4br home. I contacted Zoeller directly and they told me that the Zoeller 267 could not handle the content from my system. When I contacted Rooter-Man to discuss this, they told me directly that the pump they installed was the right pump, and it was not an Effluent pump. They charged $225 to inspect my current system and tell me that I needed a new sewage pump, and then $1200 to install a $305 pump, that was not capable of doing the job. read more

We came home Friday evening to water all over the laundry room floor and garage. We reach out to several companies and Rooter Man was the first one that could get us a tech out on a Saturday. Sean Willyard was our tech and he came out and right away new that the issue was our grinder pump. He was pretty sure that our pump had gone bad but was unable to check for any clogs with out and extra person and a machine to get it up out of the ground. He said they would need to order parts and come back Tuesday to fix. He went ahead and drained what was already backed up so we could at least have a little water just could not use much. Monday morning I get a call from the office and they are sending a tech out right then BIG BONUS POINTS FOR THIS SINCE WE WERE ON LIMITED WATER USE! Sean and another gentleman came out and started working to fix the issue. The only complaint I have at all is on this is that the tech was pretty sure that the pump had gone bad and did not bring one with him. Techs had to leave and were gone for about 1 1/2 hours and we were charged the hour labor while they were away. It seems to me if you were thinking the pump was bad you should have brought one with you to avoid a customer paying for labor when you were not at the location. read more
