From the door man to the front desk staff member to the man who brought our bags, every single person was super duper accommodating. They checked us into one of the two rooms at 8 am when check in is 3 pm!!!! Subsequently since every single person has been very engaging and seems to go out of their way to make our stay memorable! Can all properties be trained by these individuals?? If not, they should be. The rooms are typical London small, but very clean and cute. My 5 stars goes for the service!!! The breakfast had hard boiled eggs, cold meats, breads, fruits, juice, cheese,coffee, tea, hot cocoa and others in their amazing hot drink machine. The dining room was clean and the dining room staff kept the tables clean and the food coming. Our rooms although small and cramped were clean, and everything worked. There was shower gel and shampoo (no conditioner ) and a blow dryer. Clean towels daily but if you use wash cloths there were none. Europeans don't use them. Just use the hand towel. There is a little lift on the side of the building to use, but it's little only two people with luggage can go up or down at a time and you have to hold the button all the time to keep moving up or down. Only four stars because the rooms were small and the lift was small and weird to use. The price, location, and staff were all great. We would stay there again!

Lyman, the hotel manager, made sure our arrival was seamless, even though we had last minute changes. The room was impeccable: very clean, properly working TV, fresh clean towels, nice smelling room, shower gel and soap in the restroom, and a safe. Only thing missing was a mini fridge. We had solid continental buffet breakfast every morning consisting of: refreshments (coffee, tea, OJ, etc.), toast, croissants, jams, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, milk, meats, and cheeses. I couldn't be happier leaving with a happy and full stomach each morning. The staff were always tidying up after breakfast and would serve your food if you were there nice and early. The water pressure in the shower was awesome BTW. Also, if you have a lot of luggage there is a side entrance with a lift (not sure of the name but it's on the front door). I truly enjoyed staying here and felt very cozy and enjoyed my stay. I'd be back!

Assuming you don't plan to stay holed up in your room, this should not matter. Some of the single rooms are in oddly shaped corners of the building so they can seem snug, and perhaps comically awkward. This adds to the charm. 2) The showers are to die for. We're talking overhead, rain shower kind of things -- loverly. And there are bonus blue lights on the floor. Somehow this gives the bathroom a very funky, "I'm cosmopolitan, so there" kind of vibe. 3) Location is spot on. Just across from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens which means you can walk to some nice places for dinner, entertainment or what have you. Our only problem was that the District and Circle line was out of service (and will be through much of August), so we were not able to use the tube stop at Kensington High Street. Next best option is Gloucester Rd. (about 15 min walk). 4) The hotel has a very narrow entrance that can be hard to miss. Our cab driver didn't know where it was, and if you aren't keen on the look out, you might miss it. Look for a glass door snuggled between the Giraffe and Chez Gerard. 5) Good internet access and free.

The coffee was sort of awful but isn't all coffee in London awful (except for @ Starbucks)? But the room was just right and shockingly QUIET (in the back, did not hear a THING either from inside or outside). Comfortable bed. I recommend!!
