He was very reasssuring and had no idea why I would have received that email. Again, he was very reassuring and gave me his personal phone number for me to contact him with any further concerns. The day of the wedding, the driver was there promptly. He was warm, courtious and professional. I called Yellow Cab and they had a cab at the main gate in 5 minutes. The driver, Mike, was great, getting me to Mystic in time for the meetings I had scheduled. He also kept his cab clean and fresh smelling, which is always a plus. Knowing I'd need to get back to Groton after the meetings he gave me his cell number and stayed in the Mystic area. I know he was looking to get the fare, but I can't picture any of the cabbies I've ever had in NYC or Philly doing that. Story goes,…read moreI was on the sub base and I was told that Groton yellow cab was one of the cab companies locally that had access to get on base to take customers to their destination. I called the dispatcher and sure enough, they were able to, and I was told that their driver would arrive in 20 to 30 minutes. 45 minutes later the driver had not arrived still, and nobody called me with updates on time or arrival estimate. Once the driver did arrive, he was a talkative older man with extensive knowledge of the food scene in the state of Connecticut. He was so engrossed with this topic however, he missed a turn off. While staring perplexedly at his GPS and trying to reroute, he hit a car backing out of a driveway really hard and probably totalled both cars. The cab was so badly damaged it had to be towed including a completely blown tire. I'm not sure if the driver or the driver of the other vehicle sustained any injuries, but I myself did experience some whiplash. After much apologizing to me and the other driver, the cabbie called dispatch and had another cab sent to our location to get me home. This new driver was even worse than the first, going 45- 50 in a 25, almost hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk holding a baby, and running two stop signs. He would not put my address in the GPS, and instead wanted me to tell him where to turn. This was all fine and dandy, but he did not know the difference between left and right and we ended up taking the really long way home. Maybe this was just an exceptionally bad day for Groton yellow cab, or maybe they are just incredibly dangerous, unprofessional, and instead of adding ease to your day, will make your day stressful and injurious. I've never liked cabs, but this experience has made me feel even more trepidations of putting my safety in the hands of a stranger.

They had the address, days and times in writing and someone from our district called them to confirm the schedule and they still sent the driver to the wrong location. Beginning and ending a vacation can be stressful. But it doesn't have to be. Rachel's team is a well oiled machine. They pick you up and drop you off in your driveway. You get communications before you arrive at Logan, where they will pick you up, a picture of the vehicle and driver name. You can't imagine how wonderful it is to get off a plane, grab your luggage and just step outside the terminal to find a member of Rachel's team waiting for you. If you are thinking of doing it yourself here is a reason why you should not. We ran into a family on our vacation that drove to Logan and find the parking garages full. They had to valet their car without knowing where it was going. When they arrive at Logan after their flight, they have to go to the parking garage and find a valet. And then wait for the valet to go and get their car and bring it to them. Is that how you want your vacation to begin or end? You can trust Rachel and her team to take all that worry and stress away.
