To the Management of Rose, Klein & Marias, I am writing to formally express profound dissatisfaction regarding the representation provided to my mother over the past three years. The handling of her workers' compensation case has fallen significantly below professional standards, followed by a failure in communication and administrative instability. Over the three year duration of this case, my mother has been assigned four different attorneys, none of whom were by her choice. Following the passing of her previous attorney, Mrs. Schoenfelder, approximately six months ago, we have been provided with no information regarding her new attorney. To date, we have not been informed of the new attorney's name, nor have we been provided with any direct contact information. The primary point of contact, Paralegal Cindy Moza, has demonstrated a consistent and unacceptable lack of communication. Despite my extensive documentation of inquiries sent via email, fewer than 10% have received a response. Furthermore, numerous telephonic inquiries made by my mother have been met with silence, as voicemails left for Cindy have been ignored. Despite our adherence to standard professional etiquette, including allowing for a three-business-day response window, our patience has been met with total inactivity. Rather than receiving the necessary legal advocacy following severe workplace injuries, my mother has faced significant added stress and administrative barriers that have actively hindered her recovery process. We require an immediate response to discuss the status of the litigation and to establish a reliable communication protocol moving forward. We deserve to feel confident that we have the support we need during such a difficult time. NEGATIVE 1 STAR: Christel was my work comp attorney for about 10 yrs. I have years and years (and years) worth of unanswered emails. Same about phone calls. She took a chunk from my 1st settlement. Then NOTHING. I still have all of those emails I sent to HER. If you are seeking counsel, do research. Don't wait and hope you'll get an answer. Get referrals. She once told me she didn't answer my emails because she was on the committee to help change Work Comp laws. Great ambitions. But at SOME POINT I thought she'd help. She didn't. I called the HEAD attorney at Rose, Klein, and Marais. He didn't help. Told me to take it up with my attorney. WHAT? I'm calling the state Board Assoc next. She got like 10K from my 1st settlement and another 10K from the 2nd. You'd THINK 20K just might be enough for an email reply. NOPE! I lost my Neurosurgeon in 2019 (Esther Kim at LLUMC). She moved. I called. I emailed. I emailed. And....I emailed. I'd had 3 fusions (now fused from C3-T2) and needed a neurosurgeon for a yrly recheck. I FINALLY just got a new one. Turns out leaving SKM gets the job done cuz you CANT DO ANYTHING without your attorney like get a new MD. And if your attorney (I even gave her names of MD's covered under Berkshire Hathaway to make her job easier). I'm owed THOUSANDS in mileage. It's probably in her (or the owners) bank account. My husbands case has been opened since 2017 for a work related injury. in 2021 he passed away from his injuries. Michael was assigned to this case and communicated me regarding the status of the claim. Forward a few months later I contact the office just to find out that Michael is no longer with this law firm and left my husbands case unassigned to anyone. A new attorney contacted me to apologize for the negligence and promised to work on the case from where Michael left off. It has been over a year and the case is still open 7 years later! I contacted the secretary and did not receive a response, only medical records that I did not request. I have contacted another law firm and hopefully we have a better chance of moving forward. read more

I hired this firm to represent me on a Workmans claim of November 2019. It is now January 2024 and I have not had recommended surgery and the orthopedic surgeon gave up on Workmans comp complying to his recommendations two years ago. Therefore I have a 25 pd weight restriction for the rest of my life. In addition, I received a neck and neurological injury at the same time. It took two years for Workmans comp to get me into a neurologist to evaluate the injury. By that time the neurologist said that the damage was done and to much time had past so I would need to take medication to treat the rest of my life. This law firm did nothing to try to get the Workmans comp company to get doctors or needed treatment. They just hang out waiting for their 16 percent. Most of the times the legal assistants never return calls and you can forget talking to the actual attorney because that isn't going to happen after you sign that contract. There have been four legal assistants for my attorney in the four year period so there seems to be a problem holding on to staff too. The assistants probably get tired of dealing with irate clients! At this point, I just want to settle and be done with this nightmare but that isn't happening either. Workmans comp made a settlement offer over six weeks ago which i accepted but the attorney hasn't reviewed it so it is stuck in the process. In six weeks the attorney hasn't been able to review the settlement. I have wasted four years of my life on this case, have injuries that have never been treated or can never be corrected due to the length of time, and cannot get the case settled because the attorney won't do her job. I will be so happy to never deal with this form again and also really upset about having to give them 15% of my settlement for doing nothing for me! STAY AWAKE FROM TOSE, KLEIN AND MARIAS!!!! They just want to take your money not help you!! read more

This is 100% the law firm to go with if your one and only goal is to lose your case. My father had a case with this group of incompetent cold-hearted humans, and not ONCE was he sent to see a doctor on a worker's compensation case. How does that make sense. We had so many experiences during his case that would make us rather fight our case ourselves than hire these clowns. One of those experiences was his attorney, Mike Kuyumjan, showing up to a hearing for a matter that had been resolved and not realizing he shouldn't have been there until after he saw the judge. But that was no surprise because he sounded like he was on a strong sedative 99% of the time. Then after that joke of an attorney was gone from that law firm, the biggest clown came in: Christel Schoenfelder. She had the audacity to tell me that they were not going to file an appeal on behalf of my dad regarding a mistake THEY made because a judge wouldn't find sufficient reason to grant the appeal. My dad and I did the appeal ourselves, we were allowed to appeal, and we WON the appeal. The reason why is because the judge who granted us the appeal has more intelligence in his right toe than this whole law firm has in their brains. Attorneys are meant to help those who trust in them. I'm 2018 my Dad started with this office in Ontario for a workman's comp case. As of today, he has been put through X-ray after X-ray of cancerous radiation has no medication for pain, can't sit comfortably, can't go on a toilet comfortably and can barely drive or walk. My attorney, Calypso Rees is damn near impossible to get ahold of. The only time I've been able to speak to her was when she first took my workmans comp case on. After that, I was dealing with her secretary, whom also doesn't respond to emails or phone calls. It's gotten to the point where I've received letter saying that my job is no longer protected. I've reached out to them multiple times about it, and have not received a response. Maybe she took on more cases than she can actually handle. Idk. It isn't right to leave people in the dark. If you can't do it, then just say so. I don't recommend anyone use this firm for workmans comp cases. I understand completely that these types of cases do take time. However, it is very unprofessional of them to just ignore clients that just want some answers. read more

I wish I could put negative stars but I can't so one star it its. if you come across this company and are looking for a worker's comp attorney, run far away from this one! Ive been a client for the past year and have had the worst experience. Christel is an absolute joke, never able take calls, laughs in my face when I ask questions and her secretary Stephan is no better. no response to emails or voicemails until they deem it necessary to speak with you. The only time they were responsive was when I first hired them on to my case of 6 years after id been trying to handle it on my own. Once settlement was reached they took the first offer and did no negotiations. I believe this was due to the fact they were expecting far less for my case and when was presented with the first big number, they took it and ran. explained to me that was my only option. the settlement was also an umbrella to all my other injuries and not just for the one I hired my attorney for. I was never told this in advance and when asked if this was my best option or if I should pursue more, Christel laughed at me. We are injured people who are in such a vunerable situation, with some of losing income and our jobs, dealing with chronic pain and denials for treatment from insurence and to be treated like just a number, never did I feel like I was being treated dignity. ill say it again RUN from this company if you can. When trying to get in contact with Pam the office manager regarding my experience's, she too never got back to me. I highly discourage anyone from using the legal services of Rose, Klein and Marias. During a yearlong case they sent me to the wrong doctor multiple times; I had to follow up with the office at every step to move my case along or they would ignore it indefinitely; it took multiple emails and phone calls from me to get a response from anyone at the office and when they did respond they were uninformed, confused, and often rude. When, exasperated with not receiving care for my injury, which was the whole point of employing an attorney, I finally told my attorney to simply settle the case, he recommended that I ask for a ridiculously low amount. The only thing my attorney was passionate about was securing the highest rate of compensation for himself once it was all over, and he aggressively threatened to drop my case completely - at the eleventh hour - if I did not agree to the highest fee. Wow. Incompetent, unprofessional, and generally a huge hassle. read more

I met with Mr Vines regarding a workers comp related injury I suffered. I explained every detail about my injury in addition to explaining details about my active life. Throughout the duration of my claim, calls were not returned until I complained, questions were never answered. They benefited from a long deposition (they get paid by insurance for it). Attorney is obviously on his way to retirement, disinterested and unwilling. I wish I had never gone to his office. I would have been better off representing myself. read more

After unwittingly being involved in an unfortunate incident, I hired an attorney who ended up lying to me, stringing me along for extra money, and perpetrating other unethical practices. Feeling horribly taken advantage of, I went to THIS law firm to seek advice and/or counsel. I was told the appropriate personnel was out of the office and would give me a call upon returning. The call never came through. A couple days later, I called and was told again that I would be reached shortly. Again, no word from them. Meanwhile, I am scared and directionless as per my other attorney. I again visited this office to follow-up since I was never contacted. Again, the appropriate personnel was out of the office and I was told I would be contacted. It's now been over a month, and I have never received a call from the firm. I took my business elsewhere to an attorney who immediately took me and treated me as an actual person. This law firm obviously does not care about people or their own business. I find it highly offensive that they would just blatantly ignore someone - it's incredibly rude and off-putting. read more
