My case is far worse than when I started and when my advocate and I inquired about what or how a settlement looked like or worked she sent a 2 sentence response and refused to meet, in any way. I am no longer a client but I cannot move forward and get no treatment because there is now defense council who also will not communicate. I'm extremely hurt and sick from injuries at work and live in purgatory as Ms Shaw goes about her life. I saw her in person a total of 3 times and none of them were at depositions. It is most unfortunate that, after having placed our trust and time in them, my family was abandoned in our most vulnerable time of need. I initially contacted them because my wife had suffered, as a result of medical negligence, cardiac arrest while having a c-section. I was advised by them to not discuss the matter with any other firms, to stay in touch to provide updates on the case, and that, once my wife's medical records were available, further legal action could commence. We decided to kept faith, believing that they had our best interest at heart, and thus we followed all their instructions, diligently provided all requested information. In a reversal to their purported hard-working and tireless advocacy mantra, however, the firm decided to drop us and not take our case. It became evident to us that, because our case would have not provided as much money as they had hoped for, they decided to drop us. I can understand that they reserve the right to take on cases that will provide them an internally predetermined margin--after all, they run a business, not a charity. My problem, however, is with their disingenuous tactic to emotionally string you along, selling themselves as your faithful and indefatigable advocates, just to buy enough time to see how your medical case pans out, all the while consuming YOUR valuable time and betraying your trust. That I will not get the check for 6 to 8 months, which is kind of confusing because one of their lawyers had told me that I was gonna get it as soon as I signed the settlement except for my son that he wasn't gonna get it that his money was gonna go to a blocked account which I understand but now they're trying to keep my money for 6 to 8 more months.
