It wasn't until I lost my mom, who was also my only real friend in this world. That I had to endure the biggest heartache and pain it was beyond any words. The lost of my beloved mother was so harsh, that while I was sleep I would grieve her lost in my dreams. On October 26, 2012 around midnight after I took my mother off live support from stage 4 uterine cancers. I called Rose mortuary funeral home, from Fort Saunders regional Hospital. The young lady who answers the phone in the middle of the night at Rose Mortuary was so kind. She first said that she was sorry for my lost, and that she will have someone come get her and that she will be well taking care of. The service at this location comes with an attitude. On January 31, 2013 at 6:30pm, I asked for some extra embalming fluid for my uncle since he looked a bit deflated at the wake. The rude man at the desk actually threw two packs of it at me as hard as he could and yelled "here you go, sunny!" Then, he laughed like a devil. One of the packs actually came open and made a huge mess all over my Michigan State sweater. I felt as if I had been attacked by this man. When I called the owner after the burial to report this bad behavior, rather than receiving an apology or explanation, I was curtly told that no employee there would do such a thing and that what he thew at me was likely just a box of Sunny Delight. I hope this is true. I love that sweater. But I will not wear it again if it has graveyard Fabreze on it. I love this place! read more

My father had pre-paid his funeral and services here and at Greenwood Cemetery. I am his oldest daughter and knew exactly what my father had paid for and wanted as we lived together for ten years minus the last three. A military service was to be provided. Apparently they don't follow military protocol. The flag draping his coffin was presented to his brother. Wrong. It was to come to me as my dad was divorced from my mother who passed away in 2009. They have offered me another flag via my mother in law, but that's not correct. If I wanted any flag, I could go buy one. The obituary looked like it was written by a 6 year old and my youngest niece could have done a better job. Names weren't in order, people were left out and the powder blue casket was not what dad had chosen. There was no Honor Guard there and someone not related to dad was allowed to place a rose in his hands over where his dog tags were held. The whole event was a huge disappointment and I would only refer this mortuary to no one. They need to learn proper protocol and etiquette. Just because his brother went to make the arrangements did not mean he was the only next of kin. He was not to receive the book and I expect that no one will receive any thank you notes for flowers as everything was handed to the brother at the graveside. In addition, the minister that was appointed did not know anything about my father and the family. His service was adequate but not personal. Stay away from here if you want a nice service. Stevens Mortuary is just a couple miles down the road and much more proper. read more
