When I buried my father, the cemetery and grounds were called Holly Hills. When I buried my mother, the funeral home and grounds were called Highland Memorial South. The experiences in of these two previous services were quite satisfactory, in hindsight, but my memories of them are vague and unremarkable. I say this, not to be trite or critical, but rather to highlight that this new reinvention as Berry Highland South under the direction of Dignity Memorial was 1000% greater The care and services we received from Berry Highland South, under funeral director TC Linton exceeded my friends, church, and families expectations, and in my opinion, raise the bar in standard of excellence one can expect from a funeral home and cemetery. Making the arrangements and preparations were comfortable and stressless. T.C. Linton and his staff were authentic, measured,and uniquely capable to communicate with a variety of personalities. I mention this facet of their characters and demeanors as a compliment. I read a previous review on here from someone else's funeral that specifically contradicts my groups personal-experience and I call bullshit. Dignity Memorial was actually awe inspiring. There were no kinks, no media failures, no surprises. T.C. demonstrated a remarkable ability to navigate and advise, support and facilitate the funeral WE wanted and did so to perfection. He didn't gouge our bill or hard sell us on anything we didn't need. He was supportive and consoling like a trusted friend, well rounded to receive and heighten the milieu when some of us faltered and fostered a calmness that was measured and appropriate. He recommended a menu for their lounge for receiving friends that is STILL trending on our groups media feed as #bestfuneralever. I can't imagine what their top shelf food package would look like, we got the base offering and my family thought we we're in heaven. Nice. It was epic. TC Linton also did an amazing job on my brothers makeup. His artistry was beautiful and impeccable, my brother looked fantastic and was greatly received. Dignity Memorial was trustworthy and discreet, accommodating and flexible. They were perfect. I never expected to be invigorated and renewed in my soul after the death of my only brother. My Grandmother's "package" included a video of family photographs put to music. During the private family visitation the video wasn't put up, they apparently had technical difficulties with the DVD player. They obviously had not checked the video or equipment prior to our arrival. The director kept running back and forth with the remote which was a distraction. They never got the main screen above the casket working and rather than turning it off, kept the logo prompt running through the entire service (very distracting and disrespectful). The put a smaller TV to the side of the casket without the volume (till we asked) where people had to crowd around to see. When asking about the situation, the lady there treated me rudely and had also mentioned a racial slur in front of my husband. Additionally, the online condolences were not accessible for people to express their comments. She had a grandson in Germany who was unable to attend that would have used this service if available. VERY disappointing at such a sad time for the family. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. By the way, the charge to family members for a copy of the dvd is $50!!!!! WOW...

The casket that was paid for was not the same casket as they wanted to place her in. They didn't even have that casket. So there we were trying to pick out a casket. When the contract was done items such as the spray for the casket were to be included as well as digging the grave, etc. Several things ended up costing an addition amount. The staff was very unprofessional. There wasn't anyone who actually directed the funeral. The casket remained open through the entire service, we were asked to take the flowers because they couldn't, there was no procession to the graveyard. It was a chaotic mess. The family had used this funeral home exclusively for years. I would think twice before using this place.

On October 26, 2012 around midnight after I took my mother off live support from stage 4 uterine cancers. I called Rose mortuary funeral home, from Fort Saunders regional Hospital. The young lady who answers the phone in the middle of the night at Rose Mortuary was so kind. She first said that she was sorry for my lost, and that she will have someone come get her and that she will be well taking care of. Rose Mortuary Funeral is the only funeral home on this planet that went above and beyond caring and kindness for my grieving two sons' and me. One of the packs actually came open and made a huge mess all over my Michigan State sweater. I felt as if I had been attacked by this man. When I called the owner after the burial to report this bad behavior, rather than receiving an apology or explanation, I was curtly told that no employee there would do such a thing and that what he thew at me was likely just a box of Sunny Delight. I hope this is true. I love that sweater. But I will not wear it again if it has graveyard Fabreze on it. I love this place!
