I waited to write this review to make sure it was fair. My father entered hospice care about three…read moreyears ago, starting with Bristol Hospice. While his nurse was kind, she did not advocate for him when it mattered most. My dad was in severe pain from prostate cancer, and despite repeatedly telling them his medication wasn't working, Bristol ignored his pleas. Anyone who has watched a loved one die knows that no one in that situation asks for more medication "for fun." About a year into care, Bristol abruptly dropped my dad in the middle of his hospice journey. Before doing so, they told me they weren't taking away his driver's license, yet shortly after we received notice in the mail that they had. When I called to ask about it, they insisted they had told me beforehand--which was untrue. This deception not only stripped my dad of something deeply meaningful to him, it also eroded any trust we had in their care. As a social worker, I know what healthy, dignified care should look like. The way Bristol treated my dad--ignoring his pain, failing to advocate, and being dishonest about critical matters--was borderline abusive. Withholding effective pain management from a dying patient is unacceptable.

My first call to them was with James who instantly made me feel they were the company we wanted and they were willing to get us care within 2 days. Tiffany, the case manager, is both very professional and also very caring and personal. She came the first day with the first caregiver to make sure we were all set. Their policies are generous and they are incredibly flexible and willing to pivot when needed. Our goal was to get my mom to independence. We had 2 very different caregivers and both were wonderful. My mom got to independence earlier than expected and we cut a few days off our original plan. I FULLY recommend this wonderful company!

During my search, I have realized that most of the agencies have dealt with difficult situations from their own pasts, which seems to create a certain familiarity.. I know it will be challenging trying to find the right agency, and finding the right caregiver that will want to help us out on the weekends.. Erika was very helpful, but also very upfront that because of the shortage of workers, it may take some time to find someone. I am glad I called.

I was told I would be called. I was told lies about why communication was lacking. I was then "promised" it would be corrected. Instead, I only received one phone call to update me on my father, during this time of COVID restrictions. Lastly, my father died almost two weeks ago and not even a phone call or anything. This place had to declare my father gone and not even a thought of the family. I hope no one goes through what i experienced from here, and no one should. Overpromised and never delivered. Absolutely pristine private home -from the entrance to the kitchen, living room, bathrooms, bedrooms and backyard. It was located in a lovely upscale neighborhood in Rocklin. There is a huge beautiful backyard with seating under a gazebo. I happened to arrive at mealtime, and the residents were sitting around a family table. The food looked good, the residents well cared for. The owner, Lily was warm and professional. Although we decided upon a larger facility, Agape is worth a visit if you want a home setting. Not for someone on a tight budget- but costs are fairly comparable.

Prescribing doctor difficult - very slow to respond to prescribe meds to help with sundowning, sleep disturbances, and at the end, pain meds - especially liquid morphine when my dad could no longer swallow. Do your research on the doctor your loved one will be assigned to for care. IT IS CRITICAL and could have saved us a lot of heartache on the last day. I regret using this company. Hospice is supposed to be comfort care - but instead I had to advocate even harder for basic care for my dad than I did before he was under hospice care, at a time when he was actively dying and I was most overwhelmed, sad and uncertain.

Every time I come to visit, I have to find her in the game room or any of the other social areas. She is in a wheelchair due to M.S. The staff helps her with everything she needs. It was a challenging decision, but we are now blessed to have made that difficult decision. Over the year and a half, my Mom has been able to make friends, enjoy the many activities and most importantly, gain confidence in the care staff that provides her medications, check in with her on a regular basis and provide for her daily needs. When we often leave my Mom, she reassures us saying, "Don't worry, I am well cared for". For that a big praise and thank you to the staff of Eskaton Lodge at Granite Bay.

He quickly understood how easily my body reacts & was careful not to stir things up, while at the same time presenting ways to strengthen it. He has shown me, often in little ways, things to do to ease pain, that no one had told me about before...that have helped! He also suggested a home-help product I didn't think I needed (but turns out I do), that will help me shower more safely. I have been so impressed w/ everyone from Blossom Ridge. Today I wanted to focus on Cody as he's completed his part in my care. Thanks Cody!
