Headstone for my father and mother

I contacted Rosedal-Rosehill to bury Mom's cremated remains next to my father. The plots were purchased years ago and he was buried in 1992. I have endured nothing but a runaround from Litania in trying to arrange burial for the wife of a decorated (Bronze Star and Purple Heart) veteran. She directed me to complete forms which she did not know how to complete! It's been a horrible experience while I am dealing with the grief of mom's passing and arrangements still not finalized to bury her.

7 months after my mothers death the plot still looks like it was buried yesterday. I totally understand having to place more dirt due to soil breaking down but do it correctly so it's presentable when family visits. I had to go to the office to fill out a sheet for the plot to be maintenance. They weren't even aware that the company came to fix the headstone and that it was no longer at the plot. The lady in the office is reading off the computer when I'm clearly stating no other grave next to my mother has been dug up and it's unacceptable no one has came to rectify this situation. Honestly it's just a serious lack of communication when it comes to then talking to each other it's getting so frustrating....

This cemetery is very beautiful, I know you ask a cemetery is beautiful??? Yes beautiful trees, landscaping plus incredible scenery. The main information center is great plus the staff is incredibly helpful, welcoming and warm. I went to visit my Dad, we cleaned his headstone, we made it Sparkle and Shine. Then we put a little music, started decorating for Easter and then Sophie asked isn't this disrespectful should we not be sad and crying? I responded no Sophie we celebrate great grandpa life and who he is. Sophie said Yay! That's so cool, we danced and made it all pretty. Sophie said I finally got to meet you great grandpa. I lost my Dad when he was 42 years young to kidney failure, he brought me up to be a strong independent most fabulous woman, he taught me to read by the age of three, gave the ultimate confidence of who I am, thank you Dad!

I came all the way from the Bronx to visit a departed loved one and to place flowers on their grave only to experience more grief. I understand that you have to wait sometime to receive a headstone on a person's grave but there was no Id number plate on the ground for the grave I was visiting. I was given a map and the info I needed. I called over a worker to help me cause there was no Id number plate and they still didn't even know where he was. His response was "Maybe he's here!" pointing to a patch of dirt with another Id number plate. I had to leave flowers on a grave I nor them was sure was him. It's disgusting how unorganized this place is and it doesn't look cared for. I took pictures of Id number plates right on top of eachother. How could Id number 419 be right near 440 I ask you??? Not a good experience at all.

Place is nice and very relaxed as to what and how much you can put at the gravesite

I found Terry to be a good source of knowledge and very straight forward. (That is my style). If you are looking to go somewhere and cry on there shoulder, this might not be the place for you. But the intake process is pretty lengthy. It took about 2 hours in total to complete all of the paperwork and making choices about the services. This could easily take 3-4 hours if you are not sure what you want or if you are a very indecisive person. Once the intake was completed and I had left the funeral home, I had Terrys direct contact information and I was able to communicate seamlessly at all times through a phone call or text message. Now on the day of everything was as expected and I was very surprised at the level of service of communication that Nick provided. At one point the flowers that I had ordered from a local vendor had not shown up and he called them on my behalf and ensured to mitigate the issue. The flowers were delivered and I was even refunded for them. Through the service Nick was hands on and available if anything was needed and even helped to coordinate an idea for a balloon release at the end of the service which was initially an idea that I had, but it was not a fully developed idea and he knew exactly what to do and when to do it. All in all I would recommend this company for anyone who needs a service for a loved one. Thanks to the Kowalski family, my family was able to grieve without the grief of drama or issues surrounding the funeral service itself.

It is both a cemetery and an accredited arboretum, with more than 100 identified tree species and self-guided tree tours. The grounds are known for their natural beauty, including wooded areas, a pond, and extensive landscaping. Fairview also serves as a historical record of modern Westfield. While many colonial-era residents are buried in Westfield's older Presbyterian Cemetery, many of the families who helped build the suburban town of Westfield are buried here. The pond, nicknamed "Ghost Pond," was still surrounded by woods when I was a kid in the 1960s. Back then, it was open to the public for ice skating. The scene in It's a Wonderful Life where George Bailey saves his brother Harry always reminds me of those childhood days skating on Ghost Pond. On my mother's side, my family lineage goes back to some of Westfield's earliest settlers. My parents and both sets of grandparents are buried here. In 2023, I worked with the cemetery office to arrange for my parents' burials in their family plot and to have a headstone made and installed. The staff was professional, compassionate, and easy to work with throughout the process. I grew up near Fairview and have been visiting since I was about ten years old. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and exceptionally well maintained. Fairview contains the graves of many of the families who shaped Westfield during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The cemetery includes a notable Civil War section, several historic monuments, and "Old One Horn," a Revolutionary War-era cannon displayed on the grounds. It is also the final resting place of several notable individuals, including Whitney Houston and Dr. Virginia Apgar, whose Apgar Score is still used worldwide to assess newborns. Whenever I return to the Westfield area, I make a point of stopping by to visit family members, friends, and the parents of friends who are buried here. It remains a beautiful and tranquil place that provides comfort while honoring the memories of loved ones.
