From the time we connected with them days leading up to my mother's passing until the burial was more than we expected.. Our family has known Jean for many years and we reached out to her after contacting another Funeral Home and she highly recommended Grace Chapel. Jean connected us to Ansa and everything flowed from there. Ansa walked us through the process and kept in contact with us even when we were concerned about the delay in transport of our mother from NC to NY. My sisters and I explained what mom would have liked and Ansa did not disappoint. My mother looked llike the queen that she was in life. They set up a police escorts and the limousine drivers were the best. If I could give Grace Funeral Chapel negative reviews I would. I attended a service at Grace Funeral Chapel yesterday and it was clear that the staff lacked de-escalation training. They were more concerned with meeting the needs of the one person who was paying for the service. Though I understand that they are financially driven. But in their profession you would expect compassion and respect for all parties that are grieving. I proceeded to call Grace Funeral Chapel to have a conversation with either a director or the owner instead I was contacted by the manager Angela. She actually was the person who was present during the service yesterday morning the proceeded to yell at her colleagues to call the police. Clearly she needs to be trained in the escalation and lacks The compassion to be in the position that she is in. She proceeded to defend her actions and raise her voice while on the telephone with me telling me that my family was inappropriate for a funeral home. Never taking any accountability for her actions which made an already hostile tense situation 100% worse. If you were looking to make funeral arrangements for any of your loved ones or are asked for suggestions for any close friends please do not suggest Grace Funeral home look into further options!! I stand corrected the woman's name who is the manager was Ansa. She is the one who inappropriately handled the situation yesterday and attempted to defend her actions via telephone this morning. To add insult to injury the Director Ashley called my husband in a confrontation manner. Her voice started off at normal tone and than turned in to screaming. She asked if I had called the chapel earlier today to complain. She did not allow him to get a word in. She continued to defend her and her colleagues actions. She sarcastically asked my husband if he knew the law. And went on to say that his mother was his father next of kin! This is very disturbing! Why not leave it alone. It is like putting salt on an open wound. I urge you stay away from this venue!! read more

Grace Funeral Chapels is wonderful. They handled my step-father with care, had him looking like he never left. The minister, funeral director and the rest of the staff did an excellent job with time management and handeling any conflict without bias or escalation. Recently held a service for a very close loved one at Grace. From the moment my mother placed the call, to receipt of the official certificate, Rachel was incredibly attentive and supportive. I could not imagine how difficult it would have been for my mom to organize the services without the care Rachel showed our family. Even along the most difficult portions of the service and planning, Rachel used her warm and humorous personality to ease our concerns. Sadly, I recently had to make funeral arrangements for my son. Funeral Director Rachel made the stressful process easier by working with me from the first step to interment. Our family didn't have a Pastor so she volunteered to read the committal prayer. She was professional, sympathetic, paid attention to detail, and talked about my son like she knew him. She reminded me of items that in my condition (emotional/panicky) I would have forgotten. I highly recommend Rachel for your future funeral needs. read more

I attended a funeral service today and the person sitting at the receptionist table was incredible rude. I came inside the chapel unsure of where the ceremony was being held. I stood in front of the receptionist, she never acknowledged my presence. She kept her head down as though she was either on her cellphone or reading a book/paper and or magazine. It was not until i said "excuse me" that she looked up and dismissively pointed me in the direction of the ceremony. Customer service should be a priority in any business. Outside of her stand offish behavior, I thought the place was clean. read more

Call Grace Funeral Chapels if you want to spend an absolutely obscene amount of time waiting for them to remove your decaying loved one from your house. Watched my employers family be given the run around for a full day by this awful funeral home while their loved one lay dead in their home. I've worked in the healthcare for over 5 years and have never seen this degree of ineptitude from a funeral home. My employers family contacted them multiple times and I was a personal witness to them receiving piss poor, disrespectfu customer service over the phone. I cannot imagine the type of person who would so rudely interact with a grieving family but I can assure you that the staff here did just that. There are many other funeral parlors in the area that will go above and beyond for you, do NOT use this business to send your loved ones home. read more

This is the WORST funeral home ever !! The complete opposite of what they say on the TV commercial they have. The person that claim to be the funeral director is so cold, no compassion, unprofessional and was more concerned about making sure that we let others know that they referred us. A dear friend had his home going at Grace Funeral Chapels. His family had an outstanding balance due for the services. Not only did they put everyone out of the chapel, they told everyone why they were putting everyone out. I can't imagine a more embarrassing and hurtful way to deal with a great loss. First off everything was rushed there was stained chairs everywhere like if people urinated on themselves and the director is a money hungry disrespectful person just as well as her co workers. Whats the problem what because we Hispanic because they were clearly treating people that were there for another service amazing and they were black so what happend? It was blazing hot in there like they were trying to burn us alive! The Funeral Director, Rachel,was very rude from the start. Was more interested in business aspect and rarely empathetic. Was short when asked questions, neglected to mention when she would be able to pick up my loved one. The last straw was towards the end of the service, I saw her snatch off cards on flowers aggressive during the final viewing and upset my niece (daughter of the deceased ). Thank God for Nicole who did service recovery and made us feel better. read more

Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting the staff of Grace. All gracious, understanding, patient and kind. Had not have to go through the bereavement period in a really long while. They assisted us right through the process of getting my 102 yr old grandmother's home going handled. They were of great help with preparing her beautifully and working with another funeral home in the sou which received her. Kudos. Ms. Iliana we love you, and many thanks. I went to Grace Funerals Chapels twice and always thought everything went well. This time I was there due to a close family member passing away. Everything went well and she looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful white and gold casket. Our family was very pleased and we sent her body home to our country, without any problems. I recommend Grace Funeral Homes and the huge parking lot is a big plus also!!! The staff was very helpful from beginning to end in our time of mourning. read more

On Saturday, July 1, 2017, I attended a funeral for my friend's beloved mother at Grace Funeral Chapels. Upon arrival, I was immediately turned off by the lack of organization and communication from the staff. The service was to take place in Chapel B with an overflow in Chapel A. At first I thought, ok that's a good idea, until the actual service began and we all soon realized that there was no feed of the service on the monitor in the overflow room. I don't understand the purpose of an overflow room for a funeral service if you are unable to view the actual service. I suppose we were all supposed to hold hands and stare at the walls. Eventually, we made an attempt at going into the overcrowded, fire hazard Chapel B, but to our dismay there was not even a mic in that room, so you could not hear. A funeral service should be organized and should help family and friends unite in love and rememberance. The only memory I will take away from this day was the total lack of professionalism, courtesy, and organization from the Grace Funeral Chapels staff. read more

Very angry still steaming !!! My friend Price wake was at 3:00pm so I got there at 2:00pm, greeted the lady in the front and I asked her again just to make sure of the time of the wake, she assured me 3:00 pm . Around 2:40 pm I told her I have to pick up my kids around 3 pm she brought out the book to sign condolences and told me I couldn't go in before 3 which I understood with no problem because the family has to come first. Mind you when 3:05 pm comes, she still wouldn't let me in. I was appalled and said why.."oh the family isn't here" SO WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT EVEN AFTER THREE I COULDN'T STILL SEE MY FRIEND!!! Extremely worth !! I left and couldn't wait because I gotta get my kids from school, furious as to why that lady was still telling people over the phone the wake is 3pm, so if more people were to come they would be waiting like crazy. You should CLEARLY tell people "NO ONE IS ALLOWED BEFORE OR AFTER 3 PM UNTIL THE FAMILY ARRIVES". I spoke to a lady director and she offered to call the family long after I was headed to pick up my boys to see if me a good friend of his could go in and pay my last respects....why wasn't I asked this when I was waiting there for an hour ???? Crazy !! I missed the crucial opportunity, as a situation arose preventing me from returning later to pay my respects. Damn ! read more

My family has used Grace three times in recent years and have always been EXTREMELY SATISFIED with the services they provide. The staff is very professional, courteous and kind - they went out of their way to comfort us, both in the funeral home and at the cemetery. We thought their prices were fair and reasonable. my family and I had just lost a brother on Friday May 13th, we went to Grace, thinking they were going to take good care of us in our time of need, No they didn't.. when we arrived the young woman whom greeted us, later on we found out to be the director, never shook hands, never gave her said to us sorry for our lost, she took us to her office, and went over what they would provide, and then gave us a number, never explain what we were paying for...let me cut this short, stay away, they SUCK!!!
