By the way, IT WAS VERY LAST MINUTE, and she was still FABULOUS! As I usually do, I simply gave a price range, a general feel for what I wanted, and said, "Make it lovely." HURRAY! IT WAS GORGEOUS! They even texted me a picture (which I accidentally deleted) showing it had been delivered and was, indeed, perfect! My darling friend, Ms. D, was thrilled! YAY! Recently, we experienced a death in the family. While planning the funeral, I naturally turned to this florist because of the trust I had in their artistry. I visited the studio in person to request a wreath. Before I could even share any details, the designer on-site declined, citing a full calendar of events. I completely understand that schedules fill up, especially during wedding season--but what hurt most was the lack of empathy. There was no moment of pause, no kindness--just a flat, "I'm just being honest." Not even a conversation about alternative options. Just an immediate no. What made this harder was the fact that their website advertises same-day orders. We were offering four days' notice. I wasn't expecting miracles--just a little humanity. More than the refusal itself, it was the absence of care that stayed with me. In a moment of grief, even a small gesture of compassion would have meant the world. Their work is beautiful, however, this experience has overshadowed that for me.

The owner or salesman is very helpful and helped my boys choose some great rocks they even have a neat section in the back that displays UV and fluorescent rocks and minerals. It is really cool. I could do without The awkward pagan stuff. It's just weird and kind of creeps me out. I appreciate various cultures and experiences, but never quite understood the link between rocks and minerals and aging Karens with their crystals and dreamcatchers who wish with all their being that they would be invited to be an honorary member of a Native American tribe.
