My review is based on my own experience and word of mouth from organizations to which I belong. It is an extremely busy office. The front desk staff are great. The credit card readers don't always work for your co-pay. The property management seems no-show at this multi-floor medical building. Their singular elevator is sometimes out of service. The floor is grimy and sticky at times under PT patients' feet. The power goes out in the building with storms. The patients are mostly quiet, polite, older patients who are struggling to find specialized PT options locally due to a lack of PT Specialists. The PTs are the busiest of any practice and seem overscheduled, naturally. Some of the PTs are great. Some are not. Professionalism and sensitivity with patients seem optional for PTs at most locations who have been with Good Shepherd a long time. Job burnout? The problem is Good Sheperd Penn Partners (including Bryn Mawr office) does not regularly email patients patient satisfaction feedback forms the way PennMedicine does in providing patients a collective voice in their care. Good Sheperd should email several patient feedback forms to patients during the PT treatment period and after so that unhelpful patterns can be adjusted. As it currently stands patients collectively have less of a voice in their care at Good Shepherd Penn Partners Physical Therapy.

Fast forward 4wks of 2day/wk with no no-show. Holiday comes and I mix up the days. My mistake. Policy says can't miss 2. I call. SAME DAY. Well guess what, the 2nd eval appt was counted as a no-show even though I already had everything eval'ed and wasn't told I still needed to attend. So they DISCHARGED M IN THE SAME HOUR OF THE APPOINTMENT. They then let me schedule an appointment, then called me 20 min before to say, "WE CAN'T SEE WITH A NEW PRESCRIPTION" Even though the missed appointment was THE DAY BEFORE!

Calls before the intake appointment indicated that they were participating with our insurance for mental health issues. After the intake appointment and an in-person visit (with the owner), it turns out that this is not precisely the case. My son needed to be seen for mental health issues, and the facility and staff are only approved for substance abuse. They knew my son had no history of substance abuse. They are not approved for mental health due to the lack of a psychiatrist (I believe no psychologist either, only licensed counselor) on staff. The owner/counselor stated they thought he would be a good fit for the program, apologized for the coverage misinformation given, and would "work with us." We ended up leaving the practice after nine visits (a mix of in-person and group appointments) as they could never give us out-of-pocket costs/co-pays. They then called and stated they would charge my credit card on file, but they didn't have one. We refused to give a card over the phone, asked why there was no insurance submission, and asked for a statement. After which, we received a bill for full costs, with no insurance submissions and multiple calls for full payment. I didn't sign any paperwork indicating I am their billing office. The director of finance, also known as the entire billing department, refused to submit to insurance, claiming they were not legally able to. If you tell me you are a participating provider with my insurance (for mental health) and are not and know that you cannot submit for insurance reimbursement, I believe you are committing fraud. Stay away!

I found this facility lovely on the outside and lacking , when quality care was most needed. There…read morewas disparity in quality of care form independent living, to nursing care, to long term care and assisted living. Mice and vermin were in nursing home rooms for over 2 years, an experience where a resident was not given accurate medication, and a family member argued with nursing staff when resident was in hospice, and staff reprimands to other staff to not engage family. Regular reports of cold food, inaccurate food delivered and dangerous broken serving trays. Family member had great care from some CNA and nurses, and housekeeping staff in Acute nursing care at Oak, and then to find they were fired. For the prices paid, and promises offered, independent livin is lovely, But when people need most help, this facility fell deeply short. A word of encouragement to spend time checking out the facility. Look behind the pretty surface so you get the caring needed at a tie that it is more necessary.

I'd say "could be better" but really, depending on which you live in, i.e. independent, assisted,…read moreor skilled nursing, you're going to have a totally different experience & so I'm saying "Not good" because for Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing it really is NOT GOOD. FIRST you have to understand that, although it's "the Quadrangle," it's really SUNRISE SENIOR LIVING, a for-profit company that is expanding all across the USA with over 242 locations. So the money you pay in is really used for Sunrise to expand nationally. Once you get that, it all makes sense. Then you need to understand that Sunrise is an REIT, a Real Estate Investment Trust. It's all about the investors making money; it's not about your loved one, or you, getting the best care possible. They skimp in as many ways as they can so the investors make money. This place - beware. The Independent Living is okay, Like all the photos, everything is beautiful. But Sunrise, the Quadrangle, is cheap. The signs at the elevators are so confusing & years ago we asked them to update them & make them easier for residents & for guests to understand. But no, they're cheap. What would it cost them to improve these signs so people could figure out whether they need to go up one floor or down one floor? Pennies. Really, what would it cost them? But my biggest beef is really with the Assisted Living & even more, with the Skilled Nursing. It's all about SUNRISE. When you or your loved one go to AL, building 8, your rooms are smaller, but the monthly expense doubles, PLUS you ALSO have to pay for meals (whereas in IL, the one hot meal/day is included in your "rent." So be prepared to pay more than double what you did, and have to live in a space now half the size. I could go on & on. There is no exercise room in the Assisted Living. So you or your loved one are going to go physically downhill quickly. They have chair exercise but big deal. No recumbent bikes to pedal, nothing. Oh sure you can walk a mile (literally the other side of the property) through the hallways to get to the main building's fitness room, but you might need to hire an aid to walk you there/back; or maybe your paid aid won't even want to walk you or push your wheelchair that far. Expect to deteriorate. The aids are rude. Is it their fault? They're paid bottom barrel so that's what Sunrise hires. And for the most part they're rude to the residents. (The kitchen & dining room staff, on the other hand, was so lovely.) If you get a nice & caring aid, the Quadrangle rotates them so the nice aid you had, and who knows what you want and need, you no longer have. And you have to start all over again telling them what goes where, and w them learning your mother is a PERSON!!!!! My relative, my mother, lost SO MANY GARMENTS there bc these aids do all the laundry middle of the night & and other people's laundry ends up in your loved ones closets or drawers, and your loved ones clothing ends up G-D knows where. The man in charge was so rude. He basically was supporting the hires. He didn't advocate for the residents, ever. Another beef is you don't get an Information Booklet. The rules of this Assisted Living are totally different from the Independent, but the booklet is like white bread. Totally devoid of any helpful information, helpful for the resident, helpful for the family member. I tried for 2 years to get them to update the booklet, even telling them what information we needed, what was unclear about the other booklet, or even put it online . NOTHING. They don't really want you to know. I'm writing this based on the experiences of three relatives and based on my own experience taking care of one of them.

Only the ambulance company contacted me to confirm transportation. I sent her newly filled prescriptions with her and they threw them away, three 90 day scripts. My home health care provider went to bathe her and had to feed her and tell them she couldn't feed herself. Her discharge paperwork had 2 medical conditions that she never had, and they called me for the first time a over a week after she came home to ask if we had her mattress. She was transported there and back by an ambulance company. They were completely incompetent and I wouldn't trust them again.
