A year before my elderly mom passed, this law office, at the behest of my sibling, contacted my mom…read moreand informed her that her will needed to be "updated". The result was that I was no longer the co-trustee with my other sibling, and the third sibling was now the sole trustee of the trust. The previous co-trustees were never informed about the change, and I happened to discover it when visiting my mom. I asked her if she meant to place the trust in the hands of the third trustee and she saud, "Well, that's what the lawyer said I should do". When I called My Eich and asked him about some of the confusing language in the new trust documents, he said, "Ask your mother", and hung up on me. A year later my mom passed, what we all thought would be a simple transfer of the trust assets, and an even split between the siblings, has turned into a nightmare. Eich refuses to talk to any of us except the sole trustee, who apparently calls him weekly, at $450/hr.

Unfortunately, my experience with Tori Freeborn was that of someone she wasn't that interested in…read moreas a client. Maybe there is no real money in helping Trust beneficiaries. I have had a very painful experience with the executor of the estate, lack of communication etc. And as a beneficiary, I didn't know what I could do about it and what to expect when the Trust Accounting became available. The poor woman was worried about her child, which is what she told me when she failed to call me back at the times she said she would. This happened twice. The child was never ill with COVID. But what really got me is when it came time to pay, I had to give them a check or cash, no debit card. They said it was too expensive for the firm, as a small business? During the pandemic, I had to make an appointment at my bank to withdraw the $1,000 I owed her; go to her office to drop it off. The man that came to the door was not wearing a mask. He was unprepared for my arrival, even though I had called twice in advance that morning to let them know exactly when I would arrive. I had to ask him to put a mask on. It took a minute for him to locate one. Tori was in the office, I could hear her home schooling her child on the other side of a glass door just a few feet away. The nice young man explained that she was not going to come out, or even come to the window to wave hello. You see, we had never actually met, due to COVID; so I was unhappy that she couldn't get up from her chair for even 30 seconds. Remember, I was hand delivering 1,000 dollars in cash by hand to her firm. It was an hour long process to deliver this money to her in person. They asked me if I wanted a receipt. Really! That took another 3 or 4 minutes while they worked out some printer difficulties. Ultimately, when the trust accounting did arrive. I realized she had provided me no information on the what to expect in the document itself. I have some questions but I won't ask her! Very shoddy.
