I was having pain in my eyes, and that scared me, so I was nervous to go to the eye doctor because of what it might be. My coworker had a biopsy of her eye and strongly recommended that I go to a doctor that is affiliated with the Ear & Eye Infirmary, so I did. I noticed Dr. Rosenthal was also ranked as one of America's Top Doctors, so I thought it would give her a try. I thought I was going to need glasses, and my insurance doesn't cover routine vision, so I was nervous about tests that would be needed and the bill getting high. Her office staff assured me that my insurance would cover the visit (although two calls to my insurance company yielded the same verdict - it wouldn't be covered). I'm happy to say that I saw Dr. Rosenthal at the beginning of April and I have yet to see a bill! While I was at the office, she explained everything before she did it and while she was doing it (the eye doctor can be a scary place with someone sticking things in your eyes, especially to someone who has only been to an eye doctor once before). She listened to me attentively, asked probing questions about my symptoms, my allergies and even my history with migraines. She diagnosed my pain as a reaction to seasonal allergies and provided several samples of prescription eye drops for me to try out and then get back to her about which works best so she can write a prescription (I'm still using the free samples since she gave me so many). At first I was skeptical about the allergy diagnosis because my eyes were hurting, but she was correct because my eyes have been fine since I started using the drops. Also, she was very considerate of my request to not do any extra tests without letting me know first since I was unsure if my insurance would cover it. read more
