We've seen a few different doctors (sometimes we aren't able to see his PCP) and everyone is very knowledge, cordial and kind. The nurses are all great and attempt to calm my son down who get a a bit nervous as he's only 2.5 (he started seeing his doctor at 18 months when we moved to NYC). At times during afternoon visits when they're busier the wait time can be a little long but that's fine. We are patient and things work out.

The doctor and his staff are no BS, which I think some yelp reviewers have taken as not caring, though he and his staff were perfectly polite and helpful with my requests and concerns. He begins every appointment with a consultation at a desk and then the treatment is in a different room. This strikes me as a workflow filled with care. I had ample time to ask questions and he answered them honestly. He was happy to use the phrase "I don't know" when he didn't, a phrase which some doctors don't seem to have in their lexicon. His prices are extremely reasonable. He was in network for me, but the potential out of pocket costs are accessible. Tisch Hospital charges $4,000 for a rabies shot out of pocket. He charges $400. It's rare to go to a doctor without any worry of ruinous costs. He and his staff have what I would describe as New York attitudes, by which I mean they are honest, to the point, and don't BS you. If you require an extra calming doctor who will tuck you in to bed and kiss your forehead -- I completely appreciate if you do want that -- this is probably not the doctor for you. If you don't need a forehead kiss but just want cost-conscious, informed treatment, he's your guy.

My appointment was at 1130 but I wasn't seen till 12:20, no big deal. I'm used to waiting for doctors. I appreciate the nurse who called me she was very polite. Awesome type of care I received. The room I was waiting in was very clean, see photos. If you're worried about other people hearing you speak with your doctor, then this isn't the location for you. Bathroom Alert: The bathroom was super clean. I like how it was cleaned right after I used it. I am happy knowing I won't get an infection from the bathroom. I like the nurse who helped me when I had to draw a urinalysis. She explained everything in detail. She walked me to the bathroom just in case I had to faint. I greatly appreciate her. I appreciate how patient she was with my responses. I didn't get to see my regular doctor, so I needed to see her PA. I appreciated the type of care I received from her. She is amazing and explained that if I needed to go to the hospital it would be my actual doctor who would be doing the procedure. But unfortunately my doctor is on maternity leave. It's a wonderful thing to not have to sit and wait hours and hours in the physician's waiting room whilst pouring over old tattered magazines on the coffee tables of yore. Plus, with the convenient NYU Medical App on my smartphone: (1.) my appointment was confirmed a week prior to (2.) I was able to fill out those hundred page forms asking for my life's memoirs with my medical history dating back to my grandparents. So convenient in every way! Still, the office staff and Dr. Chiopelas refused to accommodate me in any way, and they acted in the most unprofessional and uncaring manner. Aysha, the receptionist, was rude and lacked basic manners and communication skills. The manager, Jose Rodriguez, was trying to help, but he was ineffective. But I was most disappointed by the refusal of Dr. Chiopelas to even talk to me, despite my repeated requests. She showed a complete disregard for her patient!
