I have to agree- I live in Rocklin and tonight the fire engines came through the neighborhood…read morespreading the holiday cheer, and it just made the night so fun. I remember last year when I saw this for the first time I was so incredibly excited- I called all my friends to tell them how cool it was! It was so fun having the fire engine roll down the street blasting holiday music (Beach Boys- my favorite!) and talking on their megaphone to all the kids. Little kids love fire trucks, and Santa, so it really makes the kids incredibly excited, and us adults feel like kids!

Once, when my kid was about 4, we were at the park on Rocklin Rd that is next to a fire station. We walked over to take a closer look at a fire truck, and the nice firefighters invited us in and gave us a tour and fire safety speech. Then, about a month ago, I smelled a chemical/burning smell in the house, and hubby and I couldn't find the source. Recently, we have had roof rats, so hubby thought that one had chewed through an electric wire somewhere in the walls/attic, and started a fire. We called 911 in a panic. Before they arrived, we located the source of the burning smell. It was a tupperware lid that had fallen on the heating element in the dishwasher. That tupperware stuff does not like high temps, and half of it was melted. We called 911 again to cancel the emergency. Rocklin FD came anyway (without lights and sirens, thank God) and were very friendly and understanding. All this and men in uniform too ! Be still my heart........

Love Capital Park Nannies!…read more So I moved back to my hometown Sacramento and went back into teaching Preschool again. I previously nannied in Los Angeles, but thought I missed the classroom. Boy was I wrong, a previous friend/colleague found out about CPN and the process of her transitioning out of teaching to nannying went smoothly. A couple months later I knew it was time to transition so I contacted and I applied to CPN and my friend was a referral and I had a skype interview with the Owner Rachel due to I couldn't leave work early. The interview went amazingly well, loved Rachel's energy, honesty, positivity and just down to earth spirit. The fingerprinting and anything she needed was sent to her as soon as I could. And we went on from there. My 1st time, interviewed with two families and due to the 1st family not fully ready for a nanny. The 2nd family I LOVED and they LOVE me too til this day. I started with them the end of October/beginning Nov. 2019 and sadly (but great for the baby and family) had to move forward after the baby was accepted into a daycare Sept. 2020. (Still have a close relationship with the family, Love them to pieces). Within a week, Rachel found another family that fit perfectly and they are also just as amazing August 2020. CPN is the way to go if your looking for trustworthy, safe, reliable as well as caring Nanny agency. You'll Love them (especially the owner Rachel)!

Even though I owned a house here for 9 years that was an income property, I never seriously considered to live in it. Thought I'd live in Sonoma until I died. Well, at the behest of my adoptive Roseville family and the urging of my wife I capitulated to move. And after 10 months of being here I'm diggin' it. I actually like Roseville with an 85% approval rating. I like the excellent infrastructure. The roads are mostly in excellent condition. The tap water is drinkable without crinkling my nose. There's tons of retail for anything I could possible need or want. Lots of good mom n' pop reasonably priced restaurants. I have no children, my neighbors who do give the public school system high approval. Only have one major complaint: The driving habits of the local denizens is horrible to the max. Driving the 4 lane wide surface streets often feels like a demolition derby. Too many speeders, too many sudden lane cut-offs that make me jam on the brakes. The massive size pick up driving good ole' boys are the absolute worst. They drive like it's their constitutional right to commit vehicular manslaughter and laugh about it afterwards. My life long Roseville resident 34 year old nephew has been seriously rear ended twice in the past two months by teenagers who were texting while driving. Can't wait until 100% autonomous vehicles become the vehicle norm. Maybe I'll just start walking everywhere but then again I'd fear for my life every time I enter a crosswalk. Love y'a Roseville. My fellow citizens please drive like you respect the lives of others.
