I called this place and left a msg and received no call back. So I decided that I'll give it another shot and called. They answered and ended up speaking with the owner Rachel- no personality. But explained to her my situation. My husband is a firemen and has a rotating schedule. Like many fire departments do. I have one child and one on the way. So I needed some part time help. Every week on the days he's not here to assist me. I felt like I had insulted her or something just by how she answered me when I explained to her what I needed. She acted like what I was asking was a big problem for her and how dare I ask for help with no set schedule. It was absolutely the worst telephone conversation. Then she proceeds to tell me she already had talked to my husband and if I am a nurse? I was confused and told her I have absolutely no idea what she is talking about. In the end because of the lack of professionalism I just ended the call because she was absolutely no help and I know I can find a better place to assist me in my search. Update: Rachel is lack luster in her personality and I enjoy her feedback right away being at that she couldn't even return a simple phone call. Very argumentative as you can see in her response. Contrary to the existing review i would strongly advise against using this service. The owner only has her paycheck in mind and not you or your child's best interests. In our short experience working with Capital Park Nannies we found Rachel deliberately discovered information about a candidate which would be off putting, and not something most every parent would not want in their home. Let along in care of your child. Rachel instructed the person to put their social media profiles on private and to not discuss the issue during interviews. As we all know, nothing on the Internet is private and this information was discovered. Upon discussing it with Rachel she not only acknowledged she knew, but went as far as sharing she did not think it was worth mentioning as it didn't bother her. Also, she stated she advised the client to set her social profiles on private. Lastly, she told me that because the candidate's profile is private that we should not be concerned about it. Holy S-word. Please know this is what you are getting in to when working with Capital Park Nannies. To make a long story short, they will not tell you the whole story, they will overlook key information in order to fill a position and get paid. This review is about three years overdue. I contacted Rachel in June of 2014 when I became pregnant with my second child. She was the only agency in town at the time, and her process was leaps and bounds better than Care.com or other online search engines for caregiving placement. Her interview process is two-sided; she interviewed our family as intensely as she does her nannies. She explained that she has an ethical responsibility to her nannies as well as her clients, and will not place any employee knowingly in a hostile or unworkable environment. Two out of the three nannies I have employed through Rachel were amazing-- one moved, one I fired for absenteeism (not amazing), and my current nanny, who is fifteen months into the job. Even though I ended up having to fire one nanny, Rachel placed me with a temp nanny immediately until I could find and hire my current employee. This process is only appropriate for people who are prepared to act like a real boss-- you have to treat your employees ethically, pay them reasonably (and hopefully legally), communicate well, and do your due diligence. So if you're not into all that, I'd advise you to look elsewhere. But if you are, you will likely be rewarded by the experience of having top quality and professional care taken with your most precious possessions-- your children.
