Dr Newbegin has treated me during this period and what an excellent doctor she is ,her knowledge, helpfulness and communication skills ( essential in a diverse community such as Fawdon ) are first class,she is a credit to the group. The nurses , also , are worthy of praise , they welcome you like a long lost friend and are very skilled with your treatment. The reception team have to bear the brunt of an entire nations problems (appointments ) and they do it with control and politeness . Overall, I am very happy with the service. They always not fully booking appointment for baby , if you book appointment for emergency call in the morning and you got appointment on the same day. Beware do not to much make plenty ask list when go to this surgery, Doctor Andy Ramshaw and Doctor Mondolum can kick you off if you got appointment with them just ask ONLY ONE. This place not to bad for the services but never got service on the Friday evening, even receptionist always not stanby in her chair and busy doing make up for going out.

Thought I'd write this review on the back of having attended this hospital for daycase surgery…read moreyesterday in addition to several outpatient appointments prior to this. Unlike the RVI the Freeman is situated just outside of the city centre in High Heaton/South Gosforth but remains easily accessible by car, bus or metro. It has a lot of speciality services including the regional Transplant Centre and the new build Northern Centre for Cancer Care. I'm a massive advocate of the NHS and am well aware of the pressures but every time I attended an outpatient appointment I was kept waiting for between 1 and 3 hours which is where they lost a star. Waiting areas were cramped and didn't offer any drinking facilities other than water of course and I wasn't permitted to leave to get a coffee neither (which for a caffeine addict was difficult to take!) That said.....the staff are all incredible! Obviously rushed off their feet and yet always willing to go the extra mile to ensure every individual is cared for, particularly on the ward. I was given privacy and treated with respect. Every step along the way meeting the doctors, anaethetists, physio's and nursing staff they would have a laugh with you to make you feel at ease and they promptly organised home prescriptions and follow up appointments. I was in significant pain post surgery and the nurses were wonderful...promptly giving me a cocktail of meds which settled it nicely and they offered me regular coffees/toast. Overall I'd say persevere with the waiting times and try not to let it cloud your overall judgement as once through the doors the care is exceptional and all credit to everyone in the NHS who works hard to make patients like me feel lucky to have such a great healthcare system in place!

This is a modern GPs surgery in Howden.Wallsend. I have used…read morethis surgery since moving from another area a few years back.It's like a breath of fresh air compared to some doctors surgeries. I cannot complain about the service I receive from here,it has always been the best on offer. There are no nightmare receptionists,customer care seems top priority and everyone is treated with respect and warmth. The building is light and airy and very welcoming and has an open reception desk.There are lots of self help and information leaflets available and a notice board area.Plenty of comfortable seating,a childrens play area and toilets. They offer a physio service at the surgery should you be unlucky enough to need it along with the usual health and support clinics.There are plenty of staff to help with queries ect and the whole surgery seems so well organised and the staff efficient and well trained. Always five star service here.

My husband and I have both used this surgery for many years and have never had reason to complain. It is important (when you are 70+ and 80+) to know you will see friendly faces when you have reason visit the doctor.

I found the registration process for Mallard easy…read moreto deal with, and unlike my old GP in Birmingham, Mallard offer registration for an online service where you can order repeat prescriptions to be electronically sent to your preferred Pharmacy, view your existing medical records and book appointments without having to play the lottery of telephoning the surgery at the right time. The surgery itself is one of the smallest in the area, the benefit of which is that you don't feel rushed when seeing staff for an appointment. Nobody likes having to visit the Doctors, but this practice makes visits as easy an experience as possible.

Ashchem Chemists is a great little pharmacy its in a prime location (right next to a local doctors)…read moreso people can collect the perscriptions with ease. Its also great because it has everyday medicines and health products which you may need from, shampoo, to asprin, and baby items. The staff are very talkative and very welcoming.
