Super underrated here in Madrid. The first and last place for original Tapas. We accidentally stumbled in on this place and were blown away. Then traveled to Seville , Granada, and back and STILL preferred these Tapas over anything in Spain. The best ham croquettes and patatas that couldn't be beat in Seville AT ALL ( and we went to a good few spots there). Octopus, tacos(!!!), sangria. Finish off with tiramisu ! A super fun place. The music was great, it was decorated very fun with flowers inside, and the servers were all wonderful! A reservation is highly recommended, but I was able to find one on the same day on their website. The drinks were also good and the food came out quickly. I stopped in to Rosi La Loca for dinner and it was pretty good. We went on the Friday before Easter so the city was already very busy, so I would recommend trying to make a reservation if possible. What we ordered: we split the seafood paella for 2. Our server informed us that it would take 30 minutes to make and asked if we wanted appetizers. We declined since we knew the paella was going to be so much food. They went ahead and brought us some patatas bravas on the house which was super nice (and yummy). The seafood paella was huge! We got it without the baby squids because that is not our scene. The flavor was similar to another seafood paella I have had- it relies on the seafood to carry. The service was excellent! Waht a cool place!!! Very colorfully decorated with hot pinks, yellows, purples! Decor is wacky (fun) to match but very tastefully done with neon lighting to match. (Very impressive, actually!) They have many signature drinks. My sons had the 'El Gato Loco' and 'Doctor Tarrant' (each €12) and they liked them a lot (come out in themed glasses). My wife and I split a pitcher of Sangria which was excellent. We split three appetizers - Burrata Ahumada, Patatas Bravas & Croquetas de Jamon. All three were delicious! My son commented they were the best croquetas he has ever had (high praise since we are from Miami!) and I would agree. (Suggest U order bread as goes good with Appetizers and not included). Dinner entrees were very good as well (great presentation - seee pics) - Udon Noodles dish was probably the best. We also had the Bikini de Rosi (chicken sandwich), Tacos, Albondigas de Pollo (chicken meatballs - mediterranean curry tasting), and Patas de Pulpo (sauteed octopus). All good. Dessert was delicious and worth ordering! We were pretty full from the meal so we elected to share a "Dulce Miss You" which is a mascarpone creme with chocolate cookie crumbles that comes in a smoking espresso maker. Again - as impressive a presentation as the taste. Service was pretty good and wait staff very friendly. We were a party of 6, so they gave us a private room that probably fit up to 7 or 8, so that was nice. The total cost with drinks (including 1 child that ate from the appetizers was €188 (+tip). Good value compared to U.S. for the level of food and restaurant but a little on the higher side for Madrid. Having said that, food was really good, portion sizes were good, and the experience was well worth it! *TIP*: Make sure you book (online) well in advance!!! We had to book 2 weeks out and it was spotty, but we were party of 6. Near impossible to just 'show up' and get a table. read more

Good tapas in a quirky restaurant! This place was packed at 3pm on a weekday during off peak season, so I can't imagine summer. We got in but I've heard they typically have a wait. The tapas we got were all pretty good - gazpacho (with pineapple), chicken croquettes, eggplant crisps, chicken wings and wonton lasagna. My only complaint is the chicken wings brought out a bunch of tiny little gnats that wouldn't leave our table alone, it was annoying. They were able to fit us in thankfully. When we found the place we knew we were in the right spot because of the stunning and eccentric decor. Then we had to try the fun drinks and got the Kraken and the Cat one. Then the food came out and I was so in love with the Udon with tuna tartare that I still think about it today. Someone in one of my travel groups, recommended this place, so I went after the Flamenco show that is walking distance away. There was a couple waiting when I get there. The hostess stated that there would be wait as they are fully booked (it was Tuesday). She couldn't give an estimate of how long the wait would be. She told me I could wait in the line if I choose, I asked if she wanted my name as she had just take 2 people name. She said "sure" and pretended to take it, I only say pretend because Ive made countless reservations and NO ONE has taken my name without repeating or asking for clarification (I have an uncommon name). I waited for an hour (maybe a few minutes more) before leaving. HOWEVER, while waiting a group of 4 came up and was accommodated with a table. I don't speak Spanish fluently, but I understood enough to know when the spokesperson of the group approached the said they DID NOT have an appointment. I believe that the hostess and restaurant does not want or priorities single patrons, nor due they want PEOPLE OF COLOR/ BLACK PEOPLE! I asked to make a reservation for tomorrow (Wednesday) and was told that they are completely booked then too, but 15 minutes prior a couple made an appointment for tomorrow. Obviously a table of 4 will spend more than a 1 person table but if it's first come then be fair! As a solo traveler, woman, and Black woman, & American you hear very often of the racism in Spain. Cute place for sure with great quirky drinks but the service was subpar. You must make reservations but when we got there, we got our drinks ordered right away and then we didn't hear from our server for like 30 minutes so we just drank our drinks, cashed out and grabbed food elsewhere. This is such a great tapas bar. The inside is whimsical and very pink hence the name but very fun. My table ordered a pitcher of white sangria and it was very tasty. All of the crafted drinks seem to come in crazy glasses which is also very cool. The patatas bravos were great and special mention to the pulpo because there was a hefty serving of octopus and I left very satisfied with my meal. I don't know where to start. This was one of my favorite meals in Madrid. We made a reservation though El tenedor and although we had a stroller we were accommodated pretty fast. The restaurant is not that spacious but it is enough. Now let's go to the important thing: their food. Oh my gosh. Your tastebuds but will explode. I don't remember right now everything that I ate but I do remember that everything was spot on, just marvelous. The appetizer, the salad, the main dish, the dessert, their coffee ahahahahah. I wish I had found this restaurant sooner. It is a five star with no doubt. I've had many Paella's (take a look at my reviews) and I'd NOT recommend this one, why: 1) PRICEY: You pay 30€ for two persons 2) TASTE: I generally like it when noodles or rice are a bit chewy and harder but this one was simply dry, bland and not fully cooked. The taste was average and we didn't fully enjoy our paella and even left a bunch of rice there 3) PORTION: Yes the plate looks big, but it very flat so it looks like you are getting a lot but you actually aren't really. You get exactly 4 clams and 4 shrimps. That's it. Rest is dry rice. Overall very disappointing. Definitely a place for tourists as we've seen only tourist in that place. Wouldn't recommend read more

The atmosphere at this restaurant was so unique and special, I loved being there for every second! The staff is very friendly, and all had wonderful personalities. Food was amazing, highly recommend their octopus and their seafood paella. The paella was very fresh, and was served relatively timely. After waiting 10 mins for a simple 'hola' we had to flag someone down to get service. After the lady approached us, she screamed over to the male server who was supposed to serve us and said in Spanish 'oh man! You left these people here! You have to at least say hello' And he responded essentially that he didn't care and that he was busy! The continued their weird exchange but DIDNT KNOW THAT I SPOKE SPANISH.
