In March 2026, after purchasing A9 Sauce and chocolates, I accidentally dropped an envelope with quite a lot of cash in it. I didn't notice for several hours but the owner immediately got on to social media trying to locate me to return the cash. I didn't see the posts online but when I retraced my steps the next day the owner, Mr Higgins, remembered and, after asking me a few questions, returned the envelope of money to me. Absolute 5-Star service! . I ordered two "millionaire shortbreads" online. I paid for both including shipping costs. I then received an email that there was only one in stock. No problem, I will take one. The gentleman who processed my order sent the one millionaire shortbread that they had in stock to me Free! including shipping for Free! - I was happy to pay, but this kind person sent it no charge. We stopped at Rosie Lee Imports on a recent visit to Ventura. There are many things British here, as well as an authentic English proprietor. What caught my attention was the fine selection of loose leaf tea blends on offer. I bought a bag of organic Irish breakfast tea. I can say it is the best tasting Irish breakfast tea I have tasted. We were desperate for Kendall mint cakes to give as holiday presents, and this year, she had them in stock, plus all things Brit. In LOVE with this place. It's been on my list forever. I don't know what took me so long to come visit. Tiny little spot on main st with the coolest owner ready to give you advice on all things tea or tips if you have a trip to the UK planned. Easy to spot as you walk the side walk, you can't miss the Union Flag hanging outside the premises. The large window lets you spot all the goodness that awaits you inside, too. I was looking for a couple different teas to take for my tea party and Susan helped me pick a couple that were a success. I also took home some sausage rolls from the fridge to bake at home as Susan recommended. Delish! Plenty of teas, cups, cookies, cordials, and lots of other goodies. I came back a second time and bought some Christmas crackers for Christmas dinner and a couple of tree ornaments with the "Queen's Jubilee" stamped on them. read more

I shop here for my tea, but there are LOTS of biscuits (cookies) and other sweets, and crisps (potato chips) from England, Wales, Scotland plus Ireland. I cannot leave with a jar of Branson pickle, a couple of packets of salt & vinegar crisps, and loaded down with biscuits of all sorts -- oh and the tea I came in for! I'm lucky to live close by, but even if you have to make the trip, you won't regret it! read more

The cutest little British shop along Main Street of downtown Ventura. Like a lot of places, I just happened to stumble upon it. Spent the day driving around and ended up in Ventura. But have never actually walked around the area. They had parts of Main Street blocked off for through traffic. Which now offers street dining for restaurant and vendor as indoor dining is still not permitted due to covid. So walking along, I noticed the shop. Gave it a go and popped in. The cutest little gift store with trinkets and all things British. Of course, had to look for my shortbread. They only had mini packages though. The sweets selections was great too. It's something about the sweets from the UK that's so good. Harder to get here in the states. Some of my favorite wasn't available but still picked up some things that reminded me of Scotland. The sweet lady that rang us up, believe it was the owners was so lovely. We chatted with her for a bit. And she mentioned that the street closure should be closed for a couple more months. Which is good for the shops to open along the street as some shops may not have space for outdoor dining. Overall, cute shop. Plenty of sweet and other things that is harder to find in your local shops. A little British treat never hurts. read more

I came into this store as a person of color and did not like my experience. When I came into the store I found it off that the Caucasian woman behind the register did not greet me considering there was no one else in the store , it's tiny and it was dead silent. She did not acknowledge me, the only person in the store which I thought was weird but not a large issue. Two white men came in about few minutes afterwards and I noticed she greeted both men and exchanged small talk. Afterwards another man came in and she greeted him as well. After this, I turn to look at her confused if she didn't notice me and she doesn't look at me at all . despite the fact I'm standing in front of her and looking at her she was looking away. What a neat place! I have many friends that are English and they often bring back treats. I've ordered PJ Tips & Yorkshire tea because they told me it was the best. I didn't really know what to expect coming in, I'm glad I did. It's a small shop, packed full from top to bottom. Lots of tea cups and saucers, mugs, tea pots (no kettles) & plenty of TEA! So many teas! They have treats and candies, condiments, canned goods and jams, they even have cleaning supplies. I imagine if you're from England, this would feel like a piece of home. Cashier was very rude. We visited for the first time and got an item. Went to check out with card (we had no cash) and the cashier became agitated and said she gets charged fees on card and we are stealing her profits. She said "Do you even care?" And before we had a chance to answer She said "of course you dont." I've been going here a few years now and I am continually blown away by the quality and variety of the loose leaf tea that is sold here. It is the best tea I've ever had...ever. And the prices are extremely reasonable given the amount of tea leafs that come in a package. The caffeine in the black teas sold here is very well balanced. I feel charged up and ready to tackle my day after having my cup of tea. Yet the energy doesn't leave me quickly like coffee...it's a slow even feeling. I also think my overall health is better now that I've started to drink a lot of black tea. The owner is authentic and lovely. Love this place! read more

This is a wonderful British imports shop in downtown Ventura. The owner was very helpful and attentive. She imports specialty foods in from Britain like cheeses, sausages, canned drinks as well as my all time favorite Branston pickle! She's also got a wonderful assortment of sweets, biscuits (Americans read this as 'cookies') and scone mixes. I saw a cute assortment of English knic knacs like teapots, magnets ("Mind the Gap") and other decidedly British paraphernalia. We need to support shops like this in our area so they can stick around and provide us with the lovely goodies from abroad. I've tried twice in 15 years to patronize this shop and it was the same both times, still I gave it another shot this past week only to find that nothing has changed. I was greeted with the same hateful, ugly attitude from the owner who, when she found out that there were (god forbid!) ICKY, UNWASHED, MASSES in the form of AMERICAN CUSTOMERS - WITH QUESTIONS!!! - in her shop - in AMERICA!!! Was almost beside herself!!!! Her anguish was self evident and must have been unbearable!!! I will not spend any money in that store ever again. I'm no stranger to England, I am the second generation to be descended from Kentish immigrants, who came here for a better life. She is obviously though NOT having a better life, and would most likely benefit from going home. Staying home. And never coming back. If she should decide to come back, she should work on learning to disguise that look of repugnance on her face that so flawlessly telegraphs her sentiments about Americans and how deeply she resents their big, dumb, ignorant American-ness.
