I don't have enough words to express how GOOD Rosita's is. It is a total hole in the wall but nothing short of AMAZING! The food is so flavorful and fresh. I can't wait to try more of their menu. Great food. I tried a completely new item (to me) called a Torta sandwich with steak and chicken. Taco Tuesday special today were $1 crunchy beef tacos. Very flavorful and filling. The location sneaks up on you and they did not have a name in the exterior of the building, but a good crowd in the parking lot. I assume the signage will come- the place looks fairly newly renovated. Maybe some storm recovery in progress. You should try the juices- cantaloupe juice is sweet and fresh. They don't sell alcohol but I think you can bring your own. The quesadilla was also beet tasty. Not sure about the fajitas, I got too full. The chips and salsa were fresh. They have the corn chips- which I prefer to the flour! Drop in for a quick meal or swing through the drive thru. read more

This is a hidden gem in Lake Charles. Seatings are limited and they get pretty busy around noon on Sundays. The food is FANTASTIC, especially the birria tacos! Unlike other soggy taco places I've tried, theirs is crispy. They offer complimentary chips and salsa and several hot sauces to choose from. The food comes out within 15 minutes after you put in your order. There's nothing special about the inside because it's a hole in the wall restaurant. I've tried to come back for more birria tacos on a Monday only to find out they were closed. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed! read more

The service was fine but the food was so bad. Quest was so watered down it wouldn't even stick to the chips. Beans tasted like canned beans and rice had no flavor. STAY AWAY!!! This is the worst place you can go, the parking lot is empty for a reason. The beef soup is nasty, the meat feels as if you're biting into a rubber duck. The waitress told us "this soup is good and meat is tender", that was a lie. The enchiladas taste like spaghetti, nothing like what they're supposed to taste like. Service was horrible. We returned the soup and still got charged for it and the owners response "take it home and make it yourself in the microwave". Rosita's #2 is AMAZING! I love authentic old time Mexican food much more than an attempt on fancy type Mexican food! I am addicted to their menudo! As a child growing up my grandparents cooked tripe and I miss that so much! The menudo at Rosita's in so delicious I could literally eat it every day breakfast lunch and dinner! It's always cooked the same way consistently no surprises! The people that wait on me when I go in to pick up my food are always so nice so friendly! That's a big plus for me because I worked in food service for 25 years and retired from our Parish school system! Being kind and buying good food in a big deal for me! This is the South so many people take offense to those who don't have good manners and I'm one of them no matter how good the food is! But as many times as I've been to Rosita's #2 I have always been treated very nice and cordial! I am very appreciative of that!
