Living in South OC I thought of going by and visit a few galleries in LA county and enjoy some art. Bergamot Station was my next stop. Long behold due to the heavy traffic I arrived there at 6pm and all were closing. I parked at the William Turner Gallery and was walking around taking a peak from outside. A man just came out of the Gallery and was locking the doors and went to his car about to leave. He saw me and was observing my curiosity of trying to take peak inside the windows. Little did I know he is William Turner. I loved the fact how considerable he was to get out of his car and reopen the gallery and willing to give me a tour without even knowing who I am or wanting to label who I could be. I told him: don't mean to intrude,, it's all good. He said listen I hate you come down all the way here and not being able to see anything. JIMI GLEASON: CROSS/REFERENCE was at display. Very strong work. Highly clean and dynamic. Loved every minute of it. Made it short and thanked him for sharing his gallery and the extra time. He responded: of course this I what I love to do at best. The reason I am taking my time to write this is because a man with such an unbiased and welcoming character tells a lot who they are and how they treat people. Little things matter. I as a fine artist create artwork to inspire Global peace. Seeing gallery owners like William Turner with really high end artwork gives me a great impression of their modesty and humility. Fahey/Klein Gallery pays an homage to this very moment showing an interesting collection of photos taken by Dennis Hopper over the years.The exhibit is called "In Dreams", in conjunction with a book that bears the same titles and contains some photos on show here. I love Dennis Hopper as an actor, director, artist, photographer, so once I found out about this exhibit, I had to go and check it out. Fahey/Klein is a decent sized art gallery located on La Brea. Parking is ... street parking, metered in front. You can find 2 hours free parking off 1st, in the beautiful residential area surrounding the place. We found a spot on Sycamore and walked for 1 - 2 minutes. Pretty good! The gallery is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so plan accordingly. They open at 10 am, till 6 pm the rest of the days. Staff is nice, the place was locked by mistake when we went, so I knocked and they let me in. Clean restroom. The space is nice, not too big, not too small, modern and clean look, the photos are nicely displayed. Free to visit! The exhibit is wonderful, has iconic photos taken by Hopper around LA, cool portraits of bands, artists, actors, a great tale of the tame. The exhibit runs till March 21, so hurry up!

Tom is wonderful and has such a cool little shop. He has tons of great options for frames and reasonable prices. The turnaround time for my project was only two days. Tom has worked with some very cool filmmakers including David Lynch and has lots of unique framed memorabilia in the store. It's a pleasure to hire someone for a project like this who not only understands framing, but is a collector and art aficionado himself! I will definitely be returning here for any future framing needs.

I had never been here and found it to be really cool. Just off the 10 Freeway with plenty of free parking, bg gallery is hidden in the back portion of the lot to your right once you enter. There were several artists displaying their work. One artist created a sound box that will speak to you. Another artist painted on vintage clothing. My friend Dan Leven makes these really intricate dimensional boxes. Hard to explain. You need to get over there and check it out! *The show opened August 13 and ends on September 5.

I came to Jeanie Madsen Gallery this Saturday night for an invite-only art show. Though I've known…read moreJeanie's cutting edge fashion creations well since 2005-ish, this was my first time in her newest space. AND IT IS AMAZING!!!! The artists featured this evening were nature-focused: Ana Maria Valdes - branches encrusted with semi-precious gems, crystals and smooth clear stones, lovingly transformed into GORGEOUS sculptures that everyone clearly wanted to touch! The pieces were stunning, and I LOVED them! Jerry Katell - stunning paintings of landscapes - iceberg closeups, moonscapes, ahhhhhh....so detailed and SO calming! The space is 90% art gallery, and all the art was laid out to encourage exploration throughout the space. It was PACKED - and people were definitely appreciating the Ocean Seafood goodies and charcuterie plate, as well as the wine bar. The other 10% is in the very back - and absolutely NOT to be missed! Jeanie Madsen herself has pieces from her ever-changing clothing collection, as well as jewelry from other talented designers. The location is AWESOME - right on Ocean, and next to Hamilton Galleries (also fun to walk through). The courtyard in between has a huge, blue-lit fountain that people were gazing at, and when you walk out of the courtyard onto Ocean, you can see the glowing lights of the pier in the immediate distance. Very cool! I recommend this gallery and fashion space to anyone who is looking for unique, edgy, urban-inspired yet soft clothing, or art lovers. And if you're lucky, you'll see super fashionable Jeanie herself - and fall in love with her and this space.......just like I have!

I'm grateful that such a creative space is only a short walk away from my place in Venice Beach! After all, art makes the world go round, as well as stimulates the mind & dances with creativity! Oct 2019 & March 2023/Edward & Nancy Kienholz: Speaking of Merry-Go-World, it was one of the most fun & wildly popular shows I have attended thus far at LA Louver! I decided to walk over to the gallery solo! I'm so happy I did, such a colorful exhibit with a spinning wheel, blinking lights & music! Imagine, a merry-go-around inside of an art gallery...FUN! Once I stepped inside of the actual carousel to hear my fortune read... To my wonderful surprise, the words displayed said I would be... A rich woman in Paris! Haha! Last night, their word play displayed upstairs was plenty of fun, as they framed the walls! Jan 25, 2023/Alison Saar: While returning home from my walk on the beach, I ran into my neighbor/artist, and she invited me to African American Artist Alison Sars opening at LA Louver! We had a great time! What a show, it was packed! Her artwork made such a huge statement & spoke volumes about African American hair, as well as further messages that commanded the room. A behind the scenes video upstairs of Alison at work was amazing! Happy Meeting: While at LA Louver, I've been able to ask questions & speak to Artist Alison Saar at a Saturday brunch, run into some of my neighbors, as well as attended shows with my neighbors, & met new creative people! In fact, while waiting in line to go into the Merry-Go-World, I ended up meeting someone who's a great friend to this day, which invited me into a whole other world of art shows, museums & events! Imagine that! March 29, 2023: Graffiti/Fine Artist: The Gajin Fujita opening reception was fun: emblazoned with strong color, graffiti & especially the gold leaf of it all rocked my world! There were plenty of stylish people mingling about, both upstairs & downstairs, as the colorful art sparked the imagination of the crowd & conversation poured out excitedly! My drink of choice was a few sips of sake. I was grateful that my friends and I were giving access beyond the gray velvet ropes to the 3rd level to view more artwork of Gajin Fujita! (Thanks, again!) Artist Deborah Butterfield: Her horse sculptures have me in awe! #Love I can't help but take in the beauty each time I spot her work at LA Louver. Christmas 2022, after stepping off of a plane, I saw one of her larger than life horse sculptures while walking through the airport, and it stopped me in my tracks!! Haha! Overall: LA Louver is a wonderful gallery to buy art, browse & enjoy art... and maybe even take a walk on the boardwalk & step onto the sand, as it's right at Venice Beach! Score! In fact, I stopped by earlier today to see the show, once again, in detail & up close, minus the lively crowd from last night!!

Detroit Institute of Arts ran that ad relentlessly on television. Now I can't imagine life w/o it; what's life w/o imagination? LA Louver was the first gallery I visited when i moved to LA. Why? Location, location, location! Perfect when walking along the beach. So whenever I decide to cruise the Venice broadwalk, I try to stop in. Today was no exception. I went down to the beach after a late lunch. I parked east on N. Venice Blvd then started walking to the gallery. From that perspective, I will walk by the adjacent brick bldg first. That's so I can see the mural of the industrialist, Abbott Kinney. LA Louver exhibits are a mix but mostly modern art pieces. You won't be buying anything here most likely because pieces sell for $5,000~1,000,000. Perhaps a 401K for a Hockney piece? I've posted pics of the pieces I liked most ... an amazing oil painting and a bronze sculpture that looks remarkably like it's made of wood. *** A gallery walk is free. I'm sooo glad b/c it is a joy to glimpse. ***
