It was an okay time here. This place has two floors. Top floor is for women and shoes and accessories. Bottom floor was for men and for children and home items. I didn't see an elevator. Cashiers were right up front with security. It wasn't the tidiest of place but they had a lot of product on the floor so you'll likely find something you like even if you have to rummage through it all. Value was decent. I found a hoodie which was unique. I didn't think it was worth the 15 bucks, felt more like a dollar hoodie but I decided to get it anyways. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon around 5pm and it was only a handful of people here. The location isn't the greatest if you want to drive. But it's by public transportation. read more

I thought this was actually a super nice Ross location. I don't go clothes shopping a lot but I popped in here because I was passing by and I found a cute green blouse for like $7. They had a bunch of suuuper cute cardigans and wraps too; if I hadn't been on a short trip with pretty much no suitcase space left I would have been tempted to just buy a bunch of stuff! read more

Was in Denver. Last minute was invited to a business social. I decided to run into Ross to see if I could grab a new dress - didn't want to wear the same outfit from yesterday. The women working the dressing room were AWFUL. Grabbed 4 items and went to the dressing room. Told the woman "4" and held my arm out do she could see the 4. Very rudely she makes me put the items on the rack. She makes a huge effort to count them. Puts the 4 tag on one of the hangers and proceeds lecture me that when I come out of the dressing room I better have 4 items and the number tag. When I came out, there was a new ogre working the dressing room. I had decided to purchase 2 items. I put 2 on the rack, with the number tag still on the hangar. That ogre 1 had placed it on. I politely say that I'm taking 2 items. The woman screams at me WHERES MY NUMBER? I tell her it's on the hanger. She again screams YOU ARE TO PUT THE NUMBER IN MY HAND. At that point I gave my other 2 garments back and walked out of the store. I had never been to a Ross before. And I will never go again. read more

I have never left a review for anything, but I felt compelled to leave a review about my experience at Ross yesterday. I was dumbfounded by how poorly I was treated by the manager, JACOB. I walked in shortly before closing time to pick up a pair of socks. The man at the front door told me they were closing soon, and I told him that all I needed was a pair of socks and asked where the socks were located. The man pointed to the back of the store, and I proceeded to look for my pair of socks. He sent me, however, to the woman's section. As I was looking, JACOB, the manager came up to me and told me I had to leave. I told him all I needed was a pair of black socks, but he proceeded to say I need to leave immediately. I told him that I was pointed in the wrong direction and I was just looking for a pair of men's black socks. He said to "get out, just get out now." As I left, there was a long line to check out. I can't imagine why a store would have someone like JACOB as a manager. I get why the reviews are so low on yelp. It was remarkable. It was so remarkable that I plan on calling the corporate offices tomorrow. The way JACOB spoke to me felt abusive. read more

my first time at a Ross. the security guard said he'd "make me leave" if I didn't get in line at 7:03pm. threatened me for "rolling my eyes" haven't come across someone so unprofessional in a long time. a really sweet girl helped me find shoes for my event last minute, God bless her at least someone had decent customer service. the security guard should be fired and not working with people. read more

No restrooms for customers. I felt treated like a criminal by the personnel - even all the items I took to fitting rooms were patted down. I stopped by from the convention center nearby, quite dressed up, so definitely not even remotely looking like a shoplifter. read more

Not sure I like the environment in the store very much. The prices on the art supplies seem fair but for the pay I get I probably could not afford most of the stuff they sell for what it's worth. I usually don't buy but the store is still dusty and dingy, and the overhead lights are bright, not what I'd expect for a retail store. I'm usually a fan of Ross. I bought a nice BCBG printed top for $10, a BCBG hoodie for $5, a pair of (uncomfortable) Nine West black pumps for $15, a Liz Claiborne leather purse for $5, a set of Nautica towels for $5, gorgeous serving plates for $5 each, and a set of giant coffee mugs for $2 each. No, these prices are not type-o's; things are really cheap at Ross. However, I have beef with this location because it's like a madhouse. Walking down any aisle, I unavoidably trip on clothes, hangers, loose shoes, and people's kids...and I'm not even wearing my uncomfortable high-heeled pumps. Babies roam around like buffaloes while mothers shop. There is a really strong odor at this location. I have no idea where it comes from...old suitcases lying around everywhere? babies' poopy diapers? their moms' B.O.? The cashier line is usually long and slow. Every time I've visited this location, I overhear "Security, please go to [code location]." I bought a pair of shoes at this Ross on Friday May 28th that I wore one night, they were uncomfortable & I couldn't keep wearing them, so yesterday at about 6:15pm I try to return them. She said she cannot accept a return. When I told her I planned on buying another pair of shoes here anyway and asked if we could do a store credit, she tells me "We can't. That's our policy. But hey look on the bright side you have a new pair of shoes!" That was insulting and no one trying to return an item wants to hear that, so I dropped the shoes down on the floor and left. She runs outside after me yelling "Take your trash with you next time!". So I decide to tell her she could have easily avoided this. Then she follows that up by saying "Get out of here I'll call the cops & tell them you were smoking on our property". I don't even smoke. What she did horribly unprofessional, that's illegal. I hope that $40 pair of shoes I can't wear was worth it. I still need new shoes, summer clothes and furniture for my new bedroom which I planned on buying at the Ross up the street, but after one of your employees threatened to lie to the cops about me, I'll never give any one of your stores another dime. read more

About the same crowd you'd find at the now-defunct Daffy's. A few nice things but an overall weak selection. Suburban versions are usually better. Still, I walked out with 3 very decent shirts, each priced under $15, so the trip was successful. Amusingly, fitting rooms signs warn that shoplifting will be prosecuted. From an out of town guy. I love this place. I came during the colder days and this place was perfect for me. In California we don't have much heavy coats and this place is prefect for those warm days or nights. I was able to found a few warm jackets and coats. I didn't want to go crazy because I'll have to lug all these things home with me. I ended up just getting a coat. This place has 2 stories and a lot more selection than your typical Ross. Although parking here could be a challenge here. I came during a time where there's no one which was great. I was able to find street parking fairly quickly. Weird to see, with a big store like this they are very organized compared to other Ross. Can't say I found everything I came here for but Ross are a hit or miss. But if you find it, it's a great deal. read more

Being back downtown for work I already know this will be my stop in place. You know, not a place to linger, but a place you stop in and see what they go in. Ross is hit or miss, but when you find a treasure it is always a deal - so I keep coming back. This one is a little grimy. I don't know. It is just disorganized. I'm from out of town, and back in my town I did not need to ask permission to use a fitting room. It was raining outside, and I need to change my shirt. I went in the fitting room downstairs and I was stopped by employee. He started to insult me and call me disrespectful. He proceeded to say how poorly raised I was, which is a direct insult to my family. I tried to explain it was a misunderstanding and that all I was trying to do was to change my shirt. But, he attacked my character even though he didn't know me. I think this is unacceptable and very rude that he had the nerve to say stuff like that. You should never say that kind of stuff to another person and he needs to be held accountable for his rude behavior. For those reading this, he's a short, older Latino man who works downstairs. I'd stay clear from him because he's extremely disrespectful and has no class whatsoever. read more

I was so excited to see this store a short walk from our hotel! Ross is my one of my favorite stores! When I walked in I was surprised to find a bare, half-empty upper level. There wasn't much to see in the women's and shoe department. Downstairs, in men's, they were fully stocked. But, that didn't help me much. I stopped by several times during my trip, hoping they'd get a shipment in, but upstairs remained bare. Thankfully, TJMaxx, just a half block or so away, saved the day! read more

I never come here with a specific item in my head that I need. I pass by some racks and just start browsing. No matter the time of day, this Ross is ALWAYS packed with people. Be patient and polite. When someone sneaks up on you and grabs something over your shoulder (this happens to me a lot. I'm a bit on the short side), either make a big huff and stomp away, or loudly say, "Excuse you." Gets the job done. I do agree with the others... this Ross store has some kind of musky odor. I have no idea what it is, but I fondly think of it as "Ross." If I'm in another building with a strange smell, I automatically think of it as "Ross." In the words of Marcy Playground, "I smell Sex and Candy in here." The entire women's section is usually a disaster. Hangers, censors, and tags all over the place. Shirts and pants just laying in the middle of the aisle, as people just step on or walk over the clothing. I almost sprained an ankle trying to pick out a shirt. The women's shoe department is ALWAYS a mess. I go to my size, but then I realize that every shoe size but the one I want is in that section. So I have to go up every single aisle looking for my size. Frustrating, especially when 30 other people are trying to do the same. When I go downstairs to the men's section, it doesn't seem that messy. Good job fellas for not being crazy messy like the females upstairs. Ugh, men are cleaner than women? What has this world come to? Oh yeah, it's come to Ross. I hate trying on clothes here because it seems that none of the locks actually work. There's old gum and graffiti on the walls, and someone could just walk into my dressing room. No thanks, I'm not an exhibitionist. If you plan on buying something, make sure you have some time to spare. Every cashier's line is dangerously long and it just keeps on getting longer. Not only that, but they're pretty slow. I had time to knit a sweater and read a decent amount of the Da Vinci Code. SLOW. And LONG. So if you have some time to spare and can put up with the riff raff, come on in! read more

I describe this place as a clothes-implosion. Explosion? Seriously. I've been in here three times (each time hoping for the best, and not ever quite finding it). It's always completely packed and in almost total disarray. But I still go. Why why why? Okay, to be fair I went in this evening (searching for a dress to wear to a charity event. If you like to search for finds, this is the place. You have a 1 out of 50 chance to find a trendy name brand here. Other than the usual brands they carry (Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Dianne V, Betsey Johnson, Addidas, Perry Ellis, and esp the ghetto fab brands etc). Their buyer gets the last choice, but is lucky enough to get some really good finds. Sales people are courteous. Though a stop in is worth the look here just to press your luck. So good luck!!! If you are looking for the high end scraps, the buyer for Ross at the Colorado Blvd/70 frwy has waaaaay better selections, almost worth going just to see the Neiman Marcus, Nordstroms, Saks and other fabulous brands... I just had a bad experience few minutes ago. The cashier Lorena fluent Spanish and very unprofessional and rude. The entire time she was rushing me and my parents to pay out at her time. My parents are fluent in Spanish also and she was not available to help them. LORENA was charging whatever she wants and she give me an attitude when I told her she was made it a mistake because she mixed up our transactions and when I ask for a supervisor she was still argue with me and not let me talk...who is the customer???Bad experience and I hope the staff focus more in customer service. It's a ross. It's a ross downtown. No parking - so be careful how much you load up on! I usually go in on a lark, this last time hubby needed long sleeve shirts to go under t-shirts in the winter. We got 4, along with some dog treats and something else, all for under 40 - and he got to carry the bag home! Definitely an interesting shopping clientele, but 2 floors and plenty of stuff to paw thru looking for a bargain. read more

I've been a few Ross's and you can definitely find some good deals here. This location on the 16th street mall feels a bit like a prison. There are cameras everywhere (I get it), the fluorescent lights everywhere (ugh).. the store is depressing. I stopped in yesterday to look for some sneakers for my daughter. She is growing so fast, I have to buy them often. The store was clean and organised and I was able to find some cute shoes in her size but there wasn't a ton to choose from. I found a shirt and nightgown too but I chose them our of about 20 items in her size available. I'm not sure if they needed to restock or there really isn't that much for a size 7/8 girl. The checker was friendly and helpful. I love Ross, but might keep going to the other locations instead. read more

Do you like to dig? If you do, you're up for some good bargains at this Ross. Just know that you really do have to dig. I've found crystal stemware at a song, home decor at a steal and clothes at prices so low, it will knock your socks off. The downside? It's crowded, scuzzy and careworn. You'll often find screaming children crawling through the aisles or even under the changing room stalls. The place is messy, and organization can be lacking. So if you're in the mood to dig, go dig. Just know that you may get a little dirty doing it. read more

Conveniently located downtown across the street from a light rail station. I come in here looking for small things I need for a cheap price. However, lately when going into the store, I'm constantly being followed by the security guards like I'm going to steal one of their items. As if I can't afford a $5 dollar or so item. Selection does have what I'm looking for sometimes though so it's not bad other than the security thing. I don't like the one in Englewood, but I'll go out of my way to go there just to feel a little more comfortable when I'm shopping. read more

I love Ross! Not this location though! What's the closest Ross store to me, only 15 minute walk from home. Despite that I won't shop here anymore. Although there's plenty of clothes to choose from in this location. The selection of shoes jewelry and purses and bags is horrible. Don't even think about buying a dress at this location! Ive noticed lately as well that it seems like Ross is shipping the real low quality bottom of the line merchandise to this store. I go to the Ross in Englewood now or the one on South Colorado Boulevard. They seem to have the higher-quality better label items available. Does a Bose stores also have a much better selection of shoes purses dresses and Jewelry. I used to be able to going to the store and find something on the Fly on my way to work. Now I don't even try if your stuck downtown in a rush, TJ Max is right down the street. read more

Normally, I love Ross. My mom and I even have an x-mas tradition of going there Christmas eve to shop for each other, and usually find all kinds of odds and ends and good clothing bargains, and have fun doing so. But this Ross was the saddest I've ever been in. The selection was just awful, the lighting painfully bright, and overall it just felt really depressing. I only bought a hat there because I was foolishly under-prepared for the dip in the weather and was desperate for a bit of warmth. it's a-ok if you have a shopping problem like i do. seriously, i love stores like this because i like to buy things, but i'm living on student loans, so i really need to be picky and get the best deals i can. i came to this location when i first moved here and got a few things for my new place for supa cheap. but i went back a couple days ago in order to replace what i call my "summer-time cologne" since my acqua di gio got ganked by airport security. yes i'm still bitter. anyway, because of my lack of money situation, i decided to stop here very quickly since i only had a quarter for the meter and pick up something light, refreshing and clean that was under 20 bucks. i went with a bottle of lucky. a 3.4 oz no less for 18 bucks. it's not the gio, but it will do. i prefer the south colorado ave location more because parking here is always a bitch and it's always a mess, like spilled soda on the floor, clothing everywhere, people running into you mess. thank goodness i shop in the men's section, from reading the reviews below, the women's section sounds dangerous. read more

Some kinda mix up with my bank and their system about my refund, which caused me to freak out we about 10pm last night, that was straightened out somehow when I woke up this morning... Don't know how, but was. So, if it happens at all to anyone else, just give it a little time before you get mad. The selection seems decent, or at least comparable to most other locations for this chain. The surprise for me was the size considering the location and also how run down and dirty the location is. Doesn't downtown (and/or the 16th Street Mall) deserve a better version of Ross than this? I think it does. Considering it's location this should be a flagship store for the brand, but really seems more like an afterthought. With the other more boutiquen-like shops that dot the landscape on the 16th street mall Ross stands out only for it's prices and not the actual store itself. This place smells funny if you go during lunch time but the dust settles before nightfall and it is quite relaxing to puruse the aisels looking for that sepcial something whether you need it or not. Let's be honest most of the things I buy here are not necessities but that is the beauty of it. Among the recent items I have purchased, I've got to say my favorites have been my green "cahsemere-like" shawl, my "Burberry-like" baby blue print blanket aka poncho aka Native American Costume and my Carlos Santana open-toe chic gray 3 inch heel platforms with little crystal encrusted jewel on the top. I was visiting Denver and making my way back to my hotel from the 16th St Mall before heading to an evening conference session. I had some more time to kill, so I decided to stop in. As a small person, I appreciate that this store has a petites section. I was able to pick our four items for purchase even though I was looking for nothing in particular. The cashier and I laughed about my apparent love for blue since everything I purchased was navy in color. I don't know how that happened! But they were all great pieces. I have meandered thru this Ross with no real purpose too many times. The store is very good at making you believe you could get scabies if you shopped here regularly. Somedays, the shelves look like second tier retailers came and vomited all over the store. On other days, you might find just what you are looking for. One thing that I have noticed is that more and more of their employees walk around wearing "Loss Prevention" vests. Apparently, they are worried that someone might steal some of this crap. That is kind of like seeing "the club" locking the steering wheel of a 1993 Plymouth Neon. Sad. read more
