Everyone says it's the worst in town, and for some of the same reasons that they complain about it we might have considered giving them a three-star, but in the end we went with a four, honestly because I basically felt bad because it's one of the better locations we go to and it doesn't deserve quite the amount of hate that it gets. Soooo they say you get what you pay for. Usually I buy clothing but today I chose Phone Car Holder. There were only two to chose from on the shelf. When it was put together, we discovered it to be defective. I returned it no problem. I found a different holder and purchased it. The installation was fine but it will not stay attached to my dash. Everything bad you read about this company on the Internet is true. Stockers are summoned at 4:45AM by a rude but amusing phone call of a deranged, power-starved manager the day before. (Every time it's a different person calling you, though.) Virtually non-existent super-short breaks. Filthy sticky break room with no windows. Extremely low pay for the kind of hard work you do. Most of it is heavy-lifting, & they don't put the AC on soon enough so imagine doing that as if you were in a sauna in this Texas summer heat. I think that is a human-rights violation right there. The employee log-in computers were more often not working than working, so I don't think they paid me properly for all the hours & work I put in. The girls & ladies I worked with were very very nice, I liked them very much, with some exceptions, the management/your superiors are like a slave driver, mean & no respect or considerations at all, nothing like the company motto claims. The short fat one was giving me a super hairy eyeball all the time for no reason. They must be insane as they are never kind or responsible enough to tell you what you are supposed to do beforehand, and only yell at you for making honest mistakes afterwards. (Some others were nice.) Is it just mean or stupid or what. I also have a sneaking suspicion that this storefront may really be just a front for human-trafficking depot, as almost no-one back there understood a single word of English, not even a simple yes or no, like they just arrived there yesterday. Someone needs to look into this. Good thing I just happen to know some Spanish so I actually knew what they were saying. As for the work condition, it is extremely hazardous. The stock room is too small for what they are doing, full of trip hazards & whatnots, with the girls flinging & trying to use the boxcutters but they don't really know how to handle it, all in that small confinement. They never have enough tools with some mean girls hogging all of it, so the rest of us were forced to make do with something else. Like I said, both the OSHA & Texas Workforce Commission and maybe even the FBI need to look into this miserable excuse of a store. You wouldn't survive there if you're not a hard-working rough stuff like me. Oh and by the way, you are on call, but they never call you after like two, three weeks, with progressively dwindling hours. Is that even legal? No respect for work-life balance there whatsoever. My recommendation: avoid like plague. I pity them, it's all they know. I had fun though. Sorting & putting stuff on the shelves were like a fun brain-teaser game. (And many of the shelves were either broken/crooked they wouldn't sit flat, adding more unnecessary challenge for you. I fixed some up out of the kindness & righteousness of my heart, but didn't get paid for it.) It's just amazing with that kind of work ethic and questionable behavior they are still in business. When I walked in I was greeted by the man in the front who does loss prevention for this location. It was fine up until I noticed him following me around the store, at first I thought I was overreacting so I intentionally moved from one department to the next and sure enough there he was. What's most upsetting is the fact that he only started following once my boyfriend came up to the store to meet me. My boyfriend is covered in tattoos and a POC and I can't help but feel as though he was being profiled. Needless to say we left the store and did not end up purchasing any of the items in our cart which we left by his station before leaving as we were so uncomfortable. I will happily drive the extra 20 minutes to the other location nearest me to ensure a much more enjoyable shopping experience. read more

Really very rude woman (black, average height) was working by the fitting room. Terrible long wait at check out. They have about 9 cash registers and only 2 cashiers. The long line was barely moving. My feet hurt after standing in line for too long. read more

What makes it the worst is how they throw things on the shelves without thought or shove it anywhere including the floor! It's pretty dangerous in my opinion. I'm not the kind a person that likes to be forced to do stuff. But I'm almost insulted to just HAVE to be FORCED to give Ross 1 star. There is no other store that I hate more than Ross. This is the worst organized store in department store history. Nothing is where it should be and the signs are just hanging to show people they know how to hang signs. Racks and racks and racks of unorganized clothes and clientele who obviously has unorganized closets at home. (Okay I know I'm not the only person who has gone here and notice that plenty of the merchandise is on the floor from kids running through the isle OR shoppers dropping stuff and leaving it on the floor. You do stuff like this in public then you do the same at home.) No matter the time of day you go, you have to suffer that crazy line. 5 cashiers and 1 line that wraps around useless merchandise. This store needs a major makeover, carpeting, a manager who cares and about 300 mannequins and shelves to help make stuff look better and more advertizing. I'm sure there are some good hidden deals in there somewhere, but if if I have to dig for it, I would rather pay much more money to save me the time. Called in advance to see if they had trouser hangers. Got Alicia, manager on duty on the phone. She was the rudest woman I had came across at any store . Not only did she tell me they didn't have hangers, but that they never sold hangers. Her attitude was stank and cocky. I kept repeat over and over that I had bought hangers from them in the past, but Alicia was so full of wanting to be right that it was pointless. Of all the Ross's I've been to, I really think this one is the best organized store of them all. You know what I mean? Like I know you've been to one that looks like a tornado hit and all the looters came in. But you know, this one always seems to be fully stocked and organized with dresses. I've had the best luck finding summer dresses, cocktail dress, and casual dresses. I do love pairing casual dresses with cowgirl boots and I always find an awesome selection. I don't seem to have much luck with their homegoods department or men's cool shirts. But if you're looking for a dress, check this location out. You're likely to find your size and under your budget. I've been on a hunt to find needed items for a job project, even though I did not find what I was searching for, I always tend to find a purse that catches my eyes or jumps into my basket. This Ross was not as fulfilling to my plus size figure, but did have a great variety to fit your needs. Staff was friendly and to my surprise there was NO line. Well things are back to the way they were! Although Ross redesigned the store aka moved some clothes around the place is a mess. You can't find anything without having to thumb through the entire rack ooh not your size but every size . I did find a cute t shirt dress quickly brought it home to laundry. But whyyyyyyy Ross must we have such a disorganized store? It attracts the type of patents with screaming kids and running through the store. This location is incredibly dirty, disorganized and dusty! There was trash in almost every cart and there is so much dust that your throat starts to itch after being there for a few minutes. If all that isn't bad enough, the lady working the dressing rooms was going off on two young girls. This place is such a disappointment. read more

No customer satisfaction at all, Today at 9:10am in Houston tx store 0334. Store management "Claudia" told me they don't need my business that I should go elsewhere just because I asked for help. They are rude and forget that they should care for the customers. Last night I purchased 5 items from the store when I got home I was missing one item so this morning I drove all the way back to the store to inquire about my missing item, sure enough it was found next to the cash register. Management, a lady with "Claudia " on her name tag, treated me as if I was the problem when I had to miss work and drive 30 min to retrieve an items that the store "mistakenly" left out of my bag. This is probably the worst Ross that I have been too. I've been to a lot of Ross stores & this one is just ugh. I also used to work at a Ross back when I lived in central Texas so with that being said...I can blame nobody but the CUSTOMERS. I don't understand how you can fill an entire cart full of clothes, home goods, opened snacks & then just leave it there for an employee to rack or throw away? (I may be venting for the the two years I endured at Ross while in college, but oh well!) Where in shopping etiquette do you learn the habit of picking up an item that sort of interests you, then tossing it wherever it may fall?! And don't get me started on the kids. Look, if you're gonna just send them to the toy section to entertain themselves so you won't be bothered while you sort through clothes THEN LEAVE THEM AT HOME OR WITH SOMEBODY ELSE. Could not complete a sale because the cashier and the assistant manager/knowledge person did not know how to process a VISA debit card as credit. They have the same card processing machines as every other store, but yet they wanted me to believe the problem was that I was trying to use a VISA debit card as credit.
