Convenient location in a larger-sized shopping center. In Manassas, the more you can avoid traffic, the better. But the store itself was...haphazard. Nothing was organized- clothes seemed to be put back anywhere, with sections and sizes being largely irrelevant. It was very messy. Stuff all over the floor, shoes mismatched, etc. I liked that they had some pet items and the prices were considerably lower than toys from big name pet stores. I found one or two brand name items in the skin care/cosmetics section that I ended up getting. I would've gotten more, but most things had no expiration dates which weirds me out with things I'm putting on my face. Unfortunately, most of the items were either previously opened/ broken/tested by other shoppers. Terrible Experience - Management Needs to Take Action I arrived at the store at 10:20 PM --well before the posted closing time of 11 PM -only to find the doors already locked and the staff refusing entry. At least four other customers were also trying to get in. This is completely unacceptable and a blatant disregard for both customers and company policy. Closing early means lost revenue, poor customer experience, and damage to the store's reputation. If this is how the staff regularly operates, the administration seriously needs to step in. Management should investigate this issue and consider replacing employees who don't respect store hours or customer service standards. I hope someone in corporate sees this. The manager at this location CHEATS customers out of their shopping experience by closing the store early. The Ross website states this location is to stay open until 11 pm Monday - Saturday. The manager had the nerve to say they're allowed to close the store early to WAX the floors!!! It's not only FALSE advertisement of operating hours but complete BS. When I come to this location, she ALWAYS tries to close the store 2 hours early and when no one listens to her she walks around talking under her breathe about the customers not leaving. Upper management has no clue this is going on. From the second I walked into the store, I thought I was being punk'd. It honestly looks like the store is going out of business. There were a few people walking around with cart loads of junk and I'm wondering how they were even interested enough to go looking for it. Nothing is organized. Hello, I had a bad experience in the Ross store in Manassas on Dudley manor rd. On Friday 12/30/22 around 5:00 pm. The manager itself try to charge me more for a jacket that had a ripped off tag, even tho I had proved that the tag did belong to the jacket, after that she insinuated that I was a lier which is totally unacceptable specially since she had throw away the tag so I can not make a formal complain. Not sure what happened to "the customer is always right" at this store, instead I got threatened with calling the cops and being call a lier! read more

I have not been fortunate enough to see a Ross store that I actually liked. I've heard old wives tales about really good Ross stores with an abundance of items to browse through. Instead, I've only seen Ross stores like this one with bare shelves, random empty hangers and "loss prevention" standing at the door grilling you when you enter the store. This particular store fit this description and was slightly worse than other Ross stores I've been to; Maybe it was the day before shipments or something, but the store shelves were so bare and everything was all over the place and very unorganized. This was my first time in a Ross store. They are the largest national competitor to TJX Companies - the company that owns Marshalls and TJ Maxx. Ross is similar to both, being an "off-price" department store, except that it seems smaller. First, outside of clothing, they really don't have much else to offer. (I love Marshalls because they have all kinds of neat stuff at discount prices - especially kitchenwares) And the store was oddly understocked ... there was literally enough space in the middle of the store to fit a car. When I pointed this out to the wife, she concurred that it was odd. Outside of that, it's pretty much the same stuff you'll find at Marshalls. I did like that they had more stuff for the plus size (i.e. fat) people like me than Marshalls has. It's pretty much the same clothing-wise with perhaps a bit smaller of a selection, but gets a star less than Marshalls for having not much else to offer. read more

They also have an excellent home collection if you are looking for interesting decorative pieces. I feel sorry for those who give this store poor reviews. I can buy 3 cute shirts here for the price of 1 anywhere else. If your looking for clothing I would def. say to go here rather than TJ max or marshalls.. I have seen on a number of occasions when they will say "Next" for another customer and then repeat it using an overly loud and rude voice just because there was too much going on for the customer to hear them the first time. This store is a joke. Take your time( and your money) and go to the Gainesville Ross. Way better customer service, and selection that is nicely organized and not scatter all over like this one in Manassas. I bought a bra and panty set that had dried up cum/secretion all over it. I tried the bra on but not the panties since I'm a grown ass women and am aware of what size my ass can fit into. I literally got to the car, found this nastiness and walked back it to return. The manager or whomever she was gave me a hard time as it I would wear and return in this condition. She was rude and blunt until I fired back and got loud, correcting her insulting accusations. Second trip, I bought a pair of women's guess heels- cute print but once it sat in a bag for two weeks, in my closet, I decided I would return. The shoes were frayed and there was gum at the bottom but I figured I would purchase anyway because they were shoes and fro a really good price. Again, I walk into the store to return. The young lady who assisted me was nice. She observed the shoe for a few seconds and went over to her manager, Sherry and mumbled something. I then hear Sherry say loudly, " oh no those can't be returned" in disgust and never addressed me as the customer to express her concerns. What pissed me off is 1) she did not address me but made sure she said it loudly so I could hear 2) she inappropriately directed her employee to come over to and let me know she couldn't return continuing this trend of terrible customer service 3) I bought these shoes in THIS shitty condition ( after being denied additional discount off when i thought to ask since it was clearly damaged when I first bought them) 4) if I couldn't return them, why put them on the shelf in the first place - who is checking the condition before putting this on the shelf? I share all of this to say again, save your trip and time and go to Gainesville or another location! Im a frequent customer at ROSS, but today was the final straw at this location. The young Hispanic female attending at the dressing room today Sat January 20, 2018 around 2:45 pm - 3:00 pm was extremely rude. Customer service does not exist here. They have some good items from time to time. Cheap kids toys and quality clothes. Very limited selection for men's shoes unless you want crap that will fall apart in a month. Many of the curtains they sell have holes in them. Yes, holes. Because of the way the curtains are packaged or repackaged the plastic thin ties binding the curtain to the paper foldout with all the brand information create holes in the actual curtain. Also they put a security tag on the curtain itself when removes the mark and hole remains on the curtain. Is this ridiculous or what? I bought two sets of curtains and both ha this problem. I brought the first pair back and asked the return exchange clerk about it. He basically ignored me an offered no guidance. It was obvious that he was either an idiot or a robot. I actually asked him "so you have no input ? No original thoughts on this? Your just a robot?" Lol. No response. A little customer care would have been expected and ensure that I continued to shop at Ross. Now, I most likely won't ever. read more

I LOVE the selecetion that this ROSS has. I shop both Gainesville and Manassas stores but this one in Manassas always seems to have a much better selection. The lines do get long and they should call more people up to check customers out, that would be my only suggestion. I have never in my entire life been treated so rudely by an assistant manager or any other store personnel as I was last weekend. My husband went to exchange a sweater with receipt and two throw blankets with another receipt. The assistant manager refused to let my husband return the sweater because she believed the receipt description did not describe the sweater properly even though the attached tag had the same SKU number and price as our receipt. She even took my husband over to a scarf to show him what "lace" was. I called the manager, went back to the store (another hour wasted), and that assistant manager was to do my exchange. It's a very long story, but that assistant manager should be fired for twice lying that day: once to her manager and once to me. It was a horrible scene and very upsetting. Upon arriving home, I called the District Manager. He supposedly was going to meet with both employees that afternoon, though I will never know the outcome of that meeting. I swear to God, the cashiers here are the RUDEST bitchiest people I ever met. They love treating their customers like children every time I come here and NEVER smile or have manners. One time some young lady snapped at my mom for not standing exactly behind the "wait here" sign even though she was close enough. Today a different lady lectured us about how we needed to stand behind the sign even though there was nobody behind us anyway. Then when some lady came and stood there the cashier was like "see, she's standing where she's supposed to be." What are you, our fucking mother? She also didn't say thank you at all. Since I moved here, I find alot of suits here and always find something that works for me. The selection is very good and I picked up a few pieces of furniture. I would give it 5 stars but the cashier was very rude and act like she did not want to be on the job. Overall, I will still shop here, one bad experience does not mean it always be that way. They have a nice big parking lot, which is nice. I will mention the store is a bit unorganized at times but the good selection makes up for it. read more
