This is a HORRIBLE store! The so-called "security guard" was less interested in the alarm going off in the shoe department than he was running his mouth and laughing with staff. I watched the woman rip the security cord off and set the alarm off. The dude literally watched me purchase a pair of shoes. He DEMANDED I show him my receipt. I don't appreciate being treated like some sort of criminal. I went and found a couple of pairs of pants and a belt I wanted to try on. I get to the fitting room and they tell me I can't take the belt back there. I try on the pair of pants as I was originally wearing gym shorts and I come back out to try the belt on. They have an alarm tag on the belt. I asked if they could take it off and they said to go up front. They take the tag off the belts I picked out and they don't fit. When I went find a belt that fit, I saw another pair of pants and a shirt that I wanted to try on. I went to the fitting room for a third or fourth time and they ask me to show them the items and put them on the rack. They give a third degree about having to have them on hangers and after they out the two pairs of pants back on hangers (that I was planning on buying) they're like go back to the room. I try them on and they don't fit. When I go out, I put the two pieces of clothes on the rack that I wasn't gonna buy and they're like you need to put all 4 pieces of clothes on the rack. I showed the clothes and was like I'm buying these. She preceded to tell me that all the clothes needed to be on the hanger and put them back on after she counts them and checks the pockets. When I got to the front, there was a line that wasn't moving so I just threw the clothes on a shelf and walked out. I had $50-100 worth of clothes that I was gonna be buying. I went to this Ross a few months ago and bought some underwear. On the way out the door, the alarm started going off and security checked our bags. They did not find anything and we left. Today i opened the box of underwear and noticed a security tag inside the box. It was the kind you can not take off. It is the cashier's job to take off the tag because the tag warns you that it can cause harm if you try to remove it yourself. I sent my fiance to Ross to ask them to remove it and explain the situation. The Manager, Teka, very rudely rejected us and told us we must have a receipt. I personally do not keep receipts, especially from months ago. She gave so much attitude when she told us we can call her district manager Travis or Trevor. I do not see how this Ross is okay with doing their job incorrectly and making someone pay for something they can not use because the tag can not be removed. This is unnacceptable and the staff really needs more training in customer service. The manager showed no remorse and made it clear that she did not care. This issue should have been resolved by them since it was originally their mistake. Now I have no way of using something I paid for. It actually seems illegal or like false advertisement to sell a product that can not be used due to something you "accidentally" left on the product. read more

This location of Ross was a pretty good one. Some of the clothing was out of place, so I moved a few items to the end of the racks to be replaced. I found a fantastic work dress and a beautiful top to bring home to North Carolina. Overall, I enjoyed my shopping experience. read more

It's absolutely the place to go if you need a spatula, some old Paula Dean branded whisks, oddly shaped glass containers, a flagon, a 1-armed hello kitty with fingerprints embedded in the plastic, oddly very decent plates, a small screaming Armenian child, one shoe in your size, spaghetti, clothes that are alternately expensive, or not so much that look like they should be at a 1980's garage sale. You can find designer knock-off colognes, plastic knives, lobster bibs, scarves, a depressed 28 year old man wondering why his girlfriend is going through a pile of garbage, misplaced clothes by the sack full, long lines, people arguing over prices to return things, and a security guard or two. I've got to say, I find this place interesting in the way I find museums interesting "why would someone invent such a thing?". There's a lack of cohesiveness however that makes it not so much a store as a garage where things were priced by someone who didn't quite know the value. I think the place used to be significantly better, but my time in it over the years it's degraded significantly. I realize it's a dumping ground for overstocked items, but it looks like the last days of a going out of business sale pretty much constantly. Don't buy anything there you haven't tried on. If you do, imagine your salary, imagine how much of it you'll be flushing in a 20-30 minute wait for 3 people in front of you. There's never a time I've been there where there wasn't a line and a pileup caused, usually, by one of their customers. Add to this the insanity of the parking lot, and you've got a place that's sort of on my not-visit list... or at least park as far away as is possible. read more

Ok, yes, this store is gross. Unfortunately many discount stores, such as this one, are filthy. With that said, I had a clothing emergency (am I the only one who has serious trouble finding a strapless bra that doesn't end up sliding down around my waist?!?) and HAD to find a bra that would actually do what it was supposed to do...support the twins. Not only did I find one to suffice for the time being, but I also bagged a great deal on a super cute Calvin Klein dress. ^awesome^ But, I didn't stop there. My other finds included some workout wear, and several cool, 'just had to have' items for my precious pooch! BTW, be careful of the woman working the dressing rooms! She reminded me a bit of the soup nazi from Seinfeld. Scary. read more

TODAY YOU PAY! BWAHAHAHAHAHA! It was approximately one week ago that I discovered that my local Ross store had somehow deleted my personal, photos in favor of their own corporate glossies. How sweet. NOT! Although my photos were unfavorable, at least they were accurate and honest. The corporate photos were not even close to resembling the actual store. So fast forward to this week and guess what? Karma comes a-knocking because I visited this Ross in an entirely different state and I found the same mess that Ross does not want photographed and posted. Well, too bad!! If you don't want this mess posted, then change it by hiring enough people to handle the problem. Also, If you want customers to respect your store, you must first respect yourself and adopt policies and procedures that show you care. I'll preface this review by saying I love to 'treasure hunt' at places like Ross, TJ Maxx and (maybe someday in Nashville - PLEASE!!!) my favorite; Nordstrom Rack. I grew up trying to find cheap 'trends' for back to school at these places, as my parents gave us $200 and we had to make due. That being said, this is the worst Ross ever, which is mighty mighty unfortunate as its 2 seconds from my house and in any other case I'd be there regularly. Its always been dingy and had long lines, but lately its included the following: Zero selection: it looks like its going out of business but its not. I can always count on a cute dress here, but lately its been mumu's rejected from my old Girl Scout leader and a pant suit my granny would eschew from her 'church line'. Additionally the entire wall that used to be full of useful small items like running socks, hair bands and panty hose is literally barren. Customer Service: Um, there is none. I recently returned a dress on the 30th day (I know, my bad) and still received a flimsy paper voucher for my 'credit' - they cant even offer a gift card. Like I'm not going to lose a 1 x 2 inch piece of paper? I also waited in line for 25 minutes while some guy sat behind the desk right in front of me filling out paper work (he was a manager). Priorities much? Blech, the aisles are always awkward, the sizes never in order and the 'loss prevention staff' are obvious and super creepy. Look, I'm obviously not in Nordy's and don't expect as much, but this place has gotten so low brow and ridiculous I will save my bargain finding fun during trips to Portland/Atlanta for H & M and the Rack. read more

Let me preface this by saying I've only heard of Ross before, never seen one and I'm a huge fan of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Burlington Coat Factory et al. I'm the kind of girl that will dig through racks of clothes any day to find a great piece at an even better price. Not here. This place looks like a tornado went through it a few years back and they still haven't recovered. Literally the overhead signs say "Active wear" and you find career wear, nice try. Also as a last ditch effort I started just finding a rack and it was just like they have a woman's clothes department, with swim, outerwear, sportswear, juniors, all mixed together. Not sure why there are poor reviews for this place? But you get exactly what you should expect. It is after all a discount clothing store. If you have some patience you can find some great deals of some real good clothing. With that said, it is going to be a bit of a mess in there, so be prepared but who goes clothes shopping for anything other than getting new sparkly clothes so you can go run the town. Its not a bad place, I am not too snooty to shop here either, maybe the others feel they are too good to shop in a place like this? Does this location even deserve 1 star? The lines are INCREDIBLY long all the time. They will have 30+ people in line(seriously) with 2 cash registers open. Walk around and what do you see?? 4 or 5 "employees" straightening head bands or belts. Basically doing NOTHING to help with the line. I will NEVER go back to this store. Every time I have tried to shop there the lines have been horrible, the place is so dirty, and incredibly unorganized. I've been to this Ross about twice now. First time, I needed some socks so it was in and out but I still noticed that the employees aren't cheery or friendly. They just check you out. Second time, I went to look for a few tops. I noticed that the selection was skimpy and it wasn't very organized nor clean. 2013/027 I've never been to a Ross as sparsely stocked as this. Where were the narrow aisles among the clothing racks I have come to expect? The aisles were large enough to drive a small car through. I wasn't here for clothes, but as with the other locations, they made up the majority of the sales floor. I was here looking for a new pillow, and didn't find any goose down/feather ones. Not that I expected to. They did have lots of polyfill. I ended up buying one at Burlington and intend to come back to Ross for the cheap pillow cases. Messy, disorganized, kind of my personal nightmare. I'm not usually much of a Ross shopper anyway (to be upfront about it), because the thought of 100 different dresses on one rack and having to sort through all of them is NOT my thing. Some people are bargain shoppers. Some people get anxiety in disorganized stores packed of stuff. I'm the latter. Do I wish I were an amazing bargain hunter? Sure. But it's just not me. Typical Ross you'll find in other states. They do hold a lot more options of women's clothes like shirts, dresses, and skirts. They hold a lot of iconic brand items like Disney and Marvel. There other selection of home goods, toys, etc was a different story. Prices are cheap as usual. It's close to their Walmart and other shopping centers. read more

I go to this place atleast once a month, and I have been a customer since 2008. I like the baby clothing and toys section. I do find some good brands for almost half of their original price once in a while. However, there are times that there in almost no inventory and I barely see baby cloths or toys. One thing that I can always find here is my favorite purse. I almost bought all of my purses here. There are some other household goods, like curtains, carpets, kithchen stuff, some beuty products, shoes. But some times the inventory is to the minimum. As for the store, it is not a very organize store and the lines for checkout get very long sometimes. The stuff are ok and some( but not all) are professional. When it comes to returns, always have your recept with you and make sure what you have bought is not being used atall. They are kinda strict for returns. All in one, I think the store could and should be more well managed and organized...with all that I would recommend checking out Ross, and I think It worths checking it out. You may find pretty good stuff for very discounted prices. read more

I went into the store not looking for anything in particular. I was not greeted at all. One of the employees almost walked right into me without saying anything like 'hey didn't see you there', 'sorry', 'get out of my way'. As a store that depends on customers, it might be wise to have good customer service. Another incident (same guy if I am not mistaken) happened when I was near the chair section. Yet again nearly runs me over. I see "Loss Prevention" on his vest and I get it. The job is demanding especially in a store that is so disorganized. One of the best things for Loss Prevention to do is make sure things are in their place. Then you will be aware if something is out of place. I do not go into places wanting to serve but I had to report that no one in the store appeared to have any type of customer service training. I could compared it to my Cracker Barrel experience barely 20 minutes prior. I held a complete conversation with one of the ladies in the store and wanted to support company because of her. Cracker Barrel's main focus is food and they still had better customer service in their clothing department than Ross. Please get it together Ross! read more

Every time I come to this store, the lines are outrageously long and there's always someone either rude or not even paying attention working the dressing room. I guess I just settled thinking this was how they operate, and come on my days off (when standing in line forever matters slightly less). What's worse is, they typically have only one, 2 if you're lucky, cashiers working at any given time. I really love it when they have 5 or 6 employees working on hangers or whatever while the line is 20-30 minutes long. Last night I was treated so poorly, I will NEVER return to this location. (I come at least once a week). As everyone knows, Ross isn't exactly known for its organization...so when I grabbed a pair of shorts, thinking they were labeled "S", and on a rack with all the other smalls, and didn't even think twice about trying them on, I was a little irritated when I got home and found that they were actually a size 5. Woops. No big deal, I just had to find another outfit to put together, and I'd just return them. I have never had a problem in my entire life returning ANY purchase-even without receipts you can get a store credit at almost any store. However, last night I came to this Ross with my receipt, shorts WITH ALL THE TAGS STILL ON THEM, and original bag they were tossed in just TWO DAYS PRIOR. When I walked through the front door, there were at least 20 people-if not more-standing in line. I made a face of surprise, and the cashier Amanda at the front said "Should know better thinking you could just run in here" and laughed. I thought it was really weird of her to say, but I went ahead and got in line since I had driven out of my way to return these. 20 minutes pass by of people who don't understand personal space while I'm standing in line, and t's finally my turn. I approach AMANDA'S register, after she had wasted my and everyone else's time in line chatting it up with the ladies in front of me, and say hello. She pulls the shorts and receipt out of my bag and makes this face as if she just opened a dirty diaper. She asked me if I had a cat. I said 'no do I look like a cat person?' And giggled. She then says "I am not returning these. You clearly put these on a dog or something." I then calmly tell her that I thought these would fit and got home, realized they don't. She said 'so was there anything wrong with these?' and I said 'No they just didn't work'...she then says "So there's nothing wrong with them, but you want to return them?"..at this point I'm thinking "WTF, Do I need to give a written statement or something when returning an item??"...I said "I'm just trying to return them, they didn't work. I tried them on and they don't work. That's all." She then tells me I am clearly trying to pull one over on her and wore them. (PLEASE keep in mind at this point that not only is the ROSS tag still on these, but the brand tag that sits over the hip is still on these, and that I would've had to go on stage wearing these, and that's a ridiculous assertion). I just stood there totally confused...and she said "look these have little wrinkles right here, you clearly wore these"...At this point, my blood is boiling and I've already started mentally typing out this online review, and I tell her 'this line is really long, and you're trying to confront me because I didn't steam, iron and press, then lint roll these stupid shorts? You're kidding right?"...She said 'I can take this shirt back in here if I can check to see it hasn't been worn but these shorts were worn'...SO, I ask for my crap back, throw it in the bag...drive 30 minutes to the next Ross, walk in, am greeted warmly with no line, and was given a refund immediately with no questions asked. HOW HARD WAS THAT AND WHY DID I NEED TO BE QUESTIONED LIKE I WAS ON TRIAL! THEY WERE $10 SHORTS!... AMANDA....you have no business ever confronting, questioning, or accusing a customer of anything....if you even suspected someone was up to no good, you get a manager..or loss prevention..you NEVER start a debate..it's not your job to police people. You're there to provide a friendly face and complete transactions. That's it. I am so insulted and will never return here EVER again. read more

I honestly despise shopping at this location because of the multiple encounters of rude employees. What I will say is you can occasionally find good deals. That's the only pro in my opinion. Which the cons outweigh the only pro I see. Every time I had a bad encounter with an employee, it was always a fitting room employee. The first time, my mother and I were waiting at the fitting rooms and saw a woman in front of us in line turn her cart around appearing as if she was leaving the line, so we ask the employee at the time if I can go in and try my clothes. The woman who we thought was done was called by the employee. They weren't done yet. She said with a tone of attitude, "She's not done." My moms said, "I thought she was done." The employee persisted to argue and went off on this temper tantrum. My mother got upset like any customer would, and told the employee she won't buy anything. The employee raised her voice to a point where another employee came running over to see what was going on. The other employee was laughing and encouraging her toxic behavior.We get so upset and immediately exit the store. Do you see how the situation didn't require any attitude nor arguing? All it required was an explanation and clear communication, but this employee had absolutely no professionalism whatsoever. The second encounter was a different employee and occurred when I was exiting the fitting room. I didn't want the clothes I tried, so I put them on the rack. The employee said to me, "what are you doing." She then speaks to me in a degrading manner and says we put clothes we don't want on this rack (this rack meaning the other rack)The customer then laughs with her. I exit. Again, there was no need to be degrading and lack professionalism. All there was needed was communication. The third encounter was me also not knowing that I had to have my clothes hanger on my desired items. I took them off as the last time that's what we were told to do. The employee started to get rude and raise her voice . She said " next time what you do is" and then switched to saying, "Here at Ross we". She knew she got an attitude and was in the wrong by quickly switching her tone and wording. You shouldn't speak to someone in a degrading manner because they don't understand or are confused as you change your policies frequently and aren't consistent with it. One day, an employee at this store will catch an attitude with a customer who doesn't play the attitude game and will make a scene and speak to higher ups. Don't disrespect people who invest their money in your store that brings you a pay check over not knowing something when a little understanding and communication is needed. I won't be shopping here again. I will look for another Ross location. read more

I'm completely in shock by what I saw when I walked into this Ross. It was a befuddled mess in here! Before I even walked inside I could see the checkout line stretched all the way down the aisle. I've been to Ross before when I lived in Texas and it was a great place to shop. This is nothing like that store! Clothes were everywhere and not even in the right order or size, shoes mismatched and looked like they were already worn...it was bad. Even the patrons inside looked like they could've been featured on the People of Walmart site. I won't be coming back to this location. I'm hoping the Ross in Franklin is much better.
