Wish I could give 0 stars this place sucks. Came in to find deals and the store was an absolute MESS ! Not to mention my daughter and I had to wait in line for over 30 MINUTES!!!!!!!! When another cashier came her attitude was nasty My daughter also had to wait by the bathroom for 20 MINUTES!!!!! to be let in and she said it was disgusting in there. The workers are extremely rude and unhealthy too. I saw one of the workers just standing on her phone and another worker had his behind popping out of his pants The whole place is a mess! It's been a while since I've been to one of these stores. I came here to accompany a family member to help her with the holiday shopping. This place is really clean, I love all of the variety it has clothes wise especially since it has better marked down prices then from what I've seen at every other store and even a few thrift stores. I was in the New Lenox Ross last week just for a backpack. The cashier was having some problem with a return, so she was trying to call the manager on the walkie talkie and phone, but not getting any response. About 10 minutes later, after 2 people walked out because they were sick of waiting, this lady manager comes out and doesn't even apologize. I would have left, but I needed the backpack. Almost every time I've been in this store, there is a line of people with only one register open. Today I went to return 3 pairs of pants that my son purchased 2 weeks ago that didn't fit. He lost the receipt so I thought I could get a store credit. I guess they have a new rule that if it is over $19.99, you can not return it without a receipt. I'm a big fan of TJ Maxx.i usually don't have a lot of success at finding what I'm looking for at Ross. This Ross is very hit or miss. Last winter there were barely any winter coats and this year I hit the jack pot and was able to get a new winter coat. They are pretty sparse on the home goods side of the business. This location always seems to have a decent selection of dresses. read more

They never have anything-- and I mean ANYTHING, compared to the other Ross' stores. They need to have better shipments sent over to stock that store because it is disappointing and the windows are filthy to the point you can't even see inside of the store (my seven year old daughter pointed it out) read more

I stopped by the store to pick up a ceramic planter. This was a extra large planter and super heavy. I asked the female manager if she could get me some help in picking up this heavy planter and carrying it to my car. She was rude and right away started to state the rule. They can help me up to the curb but not help me load it into my car. I then asked if I can put it on hold and come back later in the evening with my husband to pick it up? She refused to do this too and said "we only hold apparel" Everything she told me was a lie,because I had previously been to the Tinley Park store, where they not only put this item on hold for me but also promised to help me load this up in my car. This manger was rude and basically did not want to make a sale. When I complained she told me to too bad. Rude people like her should not be put in management position. I love this Ross because there are maternity clothes!!! And they're really cute and cheap. No where else in this town has maternity except for a really tiny section at Target, and even tinier section at Kohl's. If you're expecting, try out Ross!!! read more

Store floor employees were not friendly. Shopped and waited in checkout. Two registers open, when one finished with her customer she asked the other if he wanted to him to take care of me. He said, no, he would do it. Waited another five minutes without acknowledgement. Finally put my things down and left, again without being acknowledged. This store is constantly selling damage goods, bad merchandise, pieces missing out of sets ect and it's kinda what you expect for the prices to be so low. In this case you just do your best to look through stuff as thoroughly as possible to avoid the headache. That joke of all this is when you try to return something for the condition you bought it in they will try to refuse it"saying we can't put that back on our shelves like that." Please that's exactly why everyone is always getting bad stuff from here. Hey Ross this is new lenox! We like our stuff nice and not constantly having something damaged or used then you guys act like your too good to take the junk that you sell back! No wonder everyone is always next door at TJmaxx! I disagree!!! I have brought back 1 item that didn't work when I put batteries in it and they took it back just fine. They even apologized for that. Maybe it was how you presented yourself? I did not give 5 stars because sometimes it is messy but that is more the customers being pigs than on the store, especially around this time of year. I'm from Manteno and think it's the New Lenox customers who make the mess!! Ross is a great place to shop from my experience anyways. I find that their prices are slightly higher than the TJ Maxx next door. Also, staff seems generally less enthusiastic about working there, not too helpful. One other thing that bugs me - I've now encountered this twice, on Saturdays. I've arrived to the Ross New Lenox store at around 10-15 minutes after 8:00am to find the doors locked and not open to the public, despite advertised times at the front door and on their website. The first time, I called the manager who hurriedly opened the doors for me, to which I entered and staff looked annoyed that they had to start the day. :/ The second time, I did not reach the manager but a staff member who corrected me and stated the doors didn't open until 8:30am, but that they'd open the door anyway. What? Why advertise 8:00am then not open your doors?!? That was kind of it for me, not necessarily negative experiences or positive, moreso just enough to convince me that going there just isn't worth it. read more
