First time customer, long time customer! Wow, what a diamond this store is! We walk in and we are greeted by Hailey, who helped us find the TWIRP dresses on the upper level. She let us look, then answered any questions we had! She helped us carry our selected dresses to the fitting room and then helped my daughter try them on. We were stunned on the more than exceptional customer service! This beats going to a department store any day. They adjusted a few loose beads on her dress and steamed it for her and we went back and picked it up in a few days. They also put down the dress and school, so there are no duplicates. You must visit this store!! My friend and I traveled to the suburbs from the city to find a dress for her to wear to a fancy ball at one of Chicago's museums. We tried House of Brides first and it was a major bust in every way. Luckily, I searched for a formal wear store on Google Maps and found Pink Slip--I had never heard of it before, but we decided to try it. We were warmly greeted when we walked in and helped by two of the girls working in the store. My friend is in her late-20s and needed something more mature, but that didn't stop the girls from trying to find the perfect dress for her. The selection was great so it's not surprising that we ended up finding the perfect dress. The entire time we were there, we were treated so well--we almost didn't want to leave! As far as the rest of their clothing/jewelry selection, we found a few things in their new every-day section that we loved. And there's jewelry for your everyday or formal needs here as well. The price of their clothing is very, very reasonable. If you go somewhere else, you'll find cheaper quality dresses that cost much more money. (like we found at House of Brides.) Or you'll find dresses that just aren't formal enough for a formal occasion. So, go here first if you need a formal dress--you'll find the right one and you'll have a great time doing it. read more

This boutique creates a fantastic environment in which to shop for a dress and everything that goes along with it. The stock and the decor are very trendy and feminine. Different types of product are separated into different rooms of the renovated house so that prom gowns are separate from party dresses and jewelry and other accessories are separate from everything else. It makes it easy to see everything and view the entire selection. The house itself is very cool. The outter rooms have been converted into large dressing rooms with plenty of space to try on a poofy prom dress. The windows are large and there is plenty of natural light so you're really going to be able to see how you look in a dress. It's a great environment for trying on multiple dresses because you feel comfortable and if you're there to accompany someone else who is shopping, there is a place to sit while you're waiting. In terms of the customer service, you really can't go wrong. I've been to this boutique twice, once when I was shopping for myself and the second time when I was going with my sister while she shopped. The first time, the boutique was packed with customers, but we still received personalized service and didn't have to wait long for a dressing room. The second time, we were one of maybe 2 or 3 groups in the whole boutique and we really had a great time. The woman who was working with us really knew her stock and knew what kind of dresses to bring based on my sister's description of what she wanted. Overall, if you're looking for a fun shopping experience and stylish clothes and accessories that are current and fashionable, this is a great place to go. First of all, this was an awesome experience and my daughter is disappointed that we didn't know about this shop before. It was purely by chance that we even found Pink Slip as we live about 45 minutes away but I'd drive it again multiple times. How we describe the shop is - imagine walking into a shop and seeing dress upon dress and not those that you'd find everywhere. As my daughter tried on dresses for Prom, they gave realistic feedback on which styles looked good on her and were honest about those that were less attractive. We had visited multiple stores and this was so pleasant and we both left smiling and happy. The dresses are unique and are in the same price point as others....in fact, her dress was actually less expensive than the ones we were shown at some Bridal boutiques and at Von Maur. Simple alterations and the dress bag was included which also was such a change from what we encountered. I purchased my daughters prom dress from Pink Slip on March 14, 2020. The stay at home order was literally put into place the next week. Due to Covid-19 the original prom was cancelled. I was very upset to learn Pink Slip would not give us a refund on the dress that was unaltered and still being stored at the boutique. I understand they have a no refund on prom dresses but these are not normal circumstances and I spent a lot of money on that prom dress! I tried reasoning with the owner and explaining that it's not fair of them to keep people's money during this crisis on a dress that'll never be worn at this point. Laura was unreasonable! Bad business in my opinion, they can resell those dresses next year when things are back to normal. I have a very large following and I've advised everyone i know not to shop at Pink Slip. It's unfortunate they're more concerned with money and have no empathy for these kids who will never be experience a traditional prom. Very bad business!! read more

They have a variety of dresses and prices that will fit anyones style and budget. My mom has even gotten a little black dress from here. They also have an inhouse designer who did custom dresses for my friends wedding which were fabulous. She also does reasonable alterations on any dresses purchased if needed. I went to Pink Slip yesterday for the first time with my daughter who was looking for her prom dress. It was a truly WONDERFUL experience. This was our second attempt at dress shopping, the first was at Peaches where we spent 3 hours and left empty handed, fighting, and completely overwhelmed! Let me say, the customer service here was INCREDIBLE. We had one sales girl that took her time with my daughter, looked at her body type and got her to try on dresses she would have NEVER tried on at Peaches. At Peaches they were so busy it was like a meat market, dresses coming and going, grabbing them out of the dressing room, throwing them in the dressing room. Pink Slip was NOTHING like that, and because of that experience, it allowed my daughter to be open minded and really look in the mirror at herself and at the dress she was trying on. It was such a pleasant experience. My daughter was also allowed to use her cell phone camera and take pictures of the dresses as she tried them on...a BIG NO NO in the other boutiques. She lit up with a smile when she realized she could ask advice of friends and see pictues of herself in the dress instead of just a mirrow view. In fact, Peaches makes announcements over their system telling you no phones are allowed and if you are caught using your phone you will be approached by a worker and referred to their special "cell" designated area...REALLY? We purchased our dress from Pink Slip yesterday. It was a dress my daughter would have NEVER tried on if it was not for our sales girl. Another sales girl walked by when my daughter was in the mirror and said she looked stunning. My daughter was ALL smiles, not teary eyed like she was leaving Peaches. We will NEVER go anywhere but Pink Slip again for dresses! It is only February but my daughter has already spied the dress she wants to wear for Homecoming next fall! One month ago I signed me granddaughter up for their modeling day. Hair, make up, pictures by a photographer in a dress you picked out. One Wednesday November 7 U called t verify our time for picking out a dress which was supposed to be Thursday evening. Left a message with phone number but never received an answer. On Thursday afternoon I called again and gave my granddaughters name and was told her appointment was set for 5:30 that evening. When we arrived my granddaughter was taken into a dressing room and given two dresses to try on for the event. I then asked about the times and place we were to be on Sunday. It was at this point I was told oh you're not even on our list. Imagine my surprise. I took a day off from work to be there for her on Sunday. I was told there was a long waiting list so the chances were slim and none that she would be involved in the modeling event. Meanwhile my granddaughter is trying on dresses, and I had to go back and tell her there was a mix up and she was out of the event. I was a little surprised to find her wearing a red cocktail dress not appropriate for a 14 year old girl. I learned they picked out the dresses not the person who was to wear them. My question is if she knew we weren't gong to be in the pageant why did she tell my granddaughter to go back and try on dresses they had provided. This thoroughly stinks to high heaven. She was devastated and embarrassed and I was more then angry. I bought her homecoming dress there and was a little taken aback by the small rooms overcrowded with dresses and the amount of people waiting to try on dresses with no where to sit. One chair was available. After a 40 minute wait we were finally shown to a dressing room, this is not acceptable. They told me to come back in three days to pick up dress as they had to press it. I returned in three days to pick up dress and they escused themselves because they had to locate the dress. In reality, as I found out by walking through the rooms, they were busy ironing the dress. The ball was dropped somewhere. I bought my older granddaughter homecoming dress at Peaches in Chicago. It was worth the drive. No waiting to try on a dress and plenty of sales help to bring you more dresses from their warehouse. Having plenty of dressing rooms (25 at least) helped the situation. If they are going to advertise a modeling pageant they should limit the number of girls who sign up and when the limit is reached shut the site down. Don't leave girls who are looking forward to this event hanging in the wind. The fact that she told us our appointment was at 5:30 and gave her dresses to try on only made thing a lot worse. An embarrassment that could have been avoided. They have plenty of beautiful dresses but after being treated so badly I'll make the trip to the city. read more
