No reason to have a refund line if you're not going to close it off when you don't want people using it. Only 1 person in purchase lane, and me in refund lane. After several more people got in purchase line, Kayla, cashier, tells me only one line today and I need to move to the purchase lane behind everyone else. Why not just call me up and issue the refund, seeing as I'm now upset over extra wait time. Instead she starts talking about me to two of the cashiers while I'm there. And when I get in the other lane, two young girls her age come up and get in the refund lane and are immediately taken before the rest of us. (I'm a senior - maybe she has an issue with older people....) When Kayla rang me up, she didn't even know my card went through and told me to run my card again, while the machine spits out my receipt. while I was in the fitting room i had a pair of pants that went missing as well as my shopping cart. All I had was a simple request the check the cameras after scanning the floor and no sign of the pants, long story short they did not check the cameras and I went home without a gift to my mom. you would have better luck hiding you cart instead of trusting the employees. This really is a disappointing Ross Store. I'm not going by one or two visits. There was a time this store was worth a visit but I would say every time I have been in it for the last few years it has been an utter waste of time - to the point that I now just skip it. It often appears to be half stocked. It generally looks disheveled. So the overall vibe that they are expecting petty theft is off-putting: security at the door, locked down restrooms and double checking the amount of items I take in the fitting room. To be fair I haven't taken in anything to the fitting room in over a year so that policy may have changed. I say I have two items, you put them on a rack in from of the associate and he or she confirms it's only two and let's you in the fitting room. There was a time it was hit or miss like all stores. There was a time I could count on getting a pair of Seven jeans or a not-needed knock knack for the house. Now if someone have me a gift certificate to Ross I would be very hard pressed to find anything at this location. If you stop in I hope your shopping experience is better/luckier. read more

Yesterday afternoon I was in this store. I saw three employees the entire time in this extremely busy area. Traffic jams on every road surrounding the stores, and you're forcing your minimum wage cashiers to deal with probably 75-100 customers in the store at once and a register line out the door. I Had to step out of line because I cannot shop at places which abuse their low wage workers by putting them in this situation. If you don't have enough staff, the responsibility cannot fall on your lowest wage workers. That is abusive. read more

You KNOW I'm going to find a Ross where ever I am. And so I did. This is a new store in a newly developed area. The store is clean and well stocked. The associates.. well, they're mostly university students and most don't want to be working in retail. Enough said. I was there with 2 friends and we were looking for dresses for our up coming cruise. The two of us decimated the selection that might be available to us... and we found a few things. But in the end, neither of us found a cruise dress.. What we did find was something that looked absolutely HIDEOUS on the hanger, but once on the body... it was fabulous. read more

Horrible customer service. I bought a Wallet at the store that actually leaked some kind of oil onto contents. of course I had tried to use it before discovering that it was ruining my Social Security card and other ID papers. I pulled the receipt out of the garbage can, put it in the wallet (stupid of me) and took it back to the store. The clerk was disgusted with my receipt even though I was trying to explain to her what happened. The oil had actually erased the numbers from the receipt. She kept saying - no refund - no refund. I asked her to call a manager who was even more rude than she was. The manager and the clerk kept rolling their eyes at each other. Horrible customer service. I even had my credit card statement that showed the purchase, but to no avail. When they discovered I wasn't leaving, she left me standing there for about 10 minutes and came back and said her boss could give me a store credit. Unfortunately I'll have to go back to the store one more time to use my refund. read more

I've just recently relocated to the Sarasota area, and was really glad to see Ross Dress for Less stores here. I've grown to rely on them in the area I came from and have been in a beautiful one in Tampa. I have been pretty disappointed in the products on the shelves in this store. I'm surprised given the location and all the competing retail in the area - but the shelves are bare, the items there are opened, broken, and there's very little to choose from. I really hope this stores picks up and stocks a wider variety of items from clothing to accessories, to bath/body .... read more

This Ross store is the worst one I've ever been to. It's very messy and disorganized. The staff is very rude. The store always looks like it's half empty. They don't carry the products that usual Ross shops do. I would go to another Ross and do not waste your time on this one. read more

I have to agree with the majority of these reviews. This store is incredibly light on product. Especially shoes and pants.

This location doesn't have a lot of stuff. Some of the products are opened. It's very unorganized and dirty. Prob won't be back.

Bought new dress shoes....after a couple weeks of wearing them, the leather or whatever it is, finish started bubbling and coming off. They would not return the defective product because "I had worn them." Of course I wore them, that's why the defect Manifested itself!! read more
