My wife and I went to Ross furniture looking for a mattress. We had a great experience visiting Ross Furniture. We were helped by Josh who was extremely knowledgeable of the products and very low pressure. He really tried to make sure we were well educated so we could make a proper decision. He gave us time to look around and when we had questions, he was more than happy to assist. The store itself is in a historic building with 3 floors. There's a variety of wood and upholstered furniture. The prices seemed very reasonable. When we were looking at mattresses, we looked at brand that was 100% American made (right in Hartford, CT). You can tell that Ross is about about quality and selling furniture that will last. If you're looking for furniture, definitely check them out. I purchased a mattress from Ross Furniture in December of 2019. I waited approx. 6 weeks for the mattress to arrive. After a few weeks I noticed that it was getting lumpy in places, so I called them. They told me that they couldn't come out till after May 1st due to Covid-19 restrictions. Finally, they came in May and inspected the mattress and said it was defective and that they would order a replacement. Here it is Sept. 25, 2020, and it was to be delivered this a.m. BUT, they just called to inform me that it was a mistake and it didn't actually arrive! I am furious! read more

Though the mattress is great quality at a fair price, what we really appreciated most was the no-pressure sales atmosphere while we made an important decision. As another plus, their delivery was earlier than expected (yet still flexible to suit our needs) and the staff was courteous of our living space while setting up/removing our old mattress. I bought a sectional couch here and I could not be happier with the service that was provided. From buying, to delivery, to setup of the couch the service was impeccable! The 2 gentleman that delivered the couch were polite, and accommodating to the things that my wife and I wanted done with the setup of our living room. When we were in the store itself picking our sofa the sales people were not pushy or trying to upsell us, it felt like the only thing they wanted was for us to be happy with the piece we picked out. We always try to buy local, but this time did not work out. We bought an expensive recliner that is defective and Ross Furniture will not return it to the manufacturer. They feel we should accept it as not perfect, but the price was not imperfect. read more

I cannot recommend Ross enough to anyone looking for furniture. I just moved to the area and needed to completely furnish a new 2-bedroom apartment. Over the past two months I've been in Ross probably 6-7 times, I've furnished my entire apartment, and I get comments from everyone that comes to visit how nice my furniture is ("It's not IKEA!"). Everyone at this store is so friendly - I feel like a member of the family. Nobody ever made me feel guilty about walking away from something or tried to convince me to make a purchase I didn't want. And best of all, they're very good about negotiating prices for multiple items, they helped me get 12 months free financing and they deliver everything free. Have furnished 3 houses with Ross. Could not be happier with the quality and service.

Sorry, but I would not recommend this company to anyone. My husband and I were excited about ordering a full size reclining sofa with a matching reclining chair. We chose a material that was named ALLIGATOR because of the alligator looking pattern. It was fun, funky, red and different. As normal, we waited 8 weeks for the pieces to be delivered. I looked them over as they were delivered. At the time, everything looked fine, but after a few days I really noticed that the furniture makers pulled the pattern so tightly, you couldn't even see the alligator pattern, it looks almost completely flat. I had also noticed that the matching chair looked the same way and it was so uncomfortable, it hurt my back and tailbone. My legs even fell asleep. I called Ross Furniture and told them I was unhappy with both pieces, especially the chair. Within a few days they came to pick up the chair. I went back to the store to choose a different chair. I decided on a LA-Z-BOY electric one with a totally different pattern because I didn't want to be disappointed again with them changing the look of the material. We had to wait another 8 weeks for that chair. When it was delivered the wrong cord was delivered with it. I was told there was enough charge on the chair I should be ok until the new electric cord was ordered and delivered. We had to wait many days. I had to call several times to see if the cord had come in. When it finally came in, we ran over to the store to get it. It didn't dawn on me, but my husband picked up on it right away when the salesman knelt down to get a cord that was attached to another chair. He said to me...."that is a used plug". I said,..."no It's not, they ordered it for us" My husband said,... "if they ordered it for us, why did he knell down to get that off another chair and why did it had a price tag and dust on it instead of coming right out of a box or bag". I didn't think anything about it until we got home and, once again the bloody plug didn't work and then I realized my husband was right. I called back AGAIN and this time the son of the owner took care of me. Several days later he delivered the correct plug for the LA-Z-BOY chair. That chair is so unstable and the material has faded so badly, it looks like it's several years old. I feel like it's going to break at any moment. The sad part about all of this is, we had to move out of state, so there is nothing that can be done. VERY sorry we bought from them. I think we would have been better to hold onto our 18 year old furniture and I'm VERY sorry I didn't return the full size sofa! read more
