Every time I visit (initial, follow-up with general treatment, and follow-up with specific treatment) I always get to see and talk to Dr. Schwartz. Appointments don't take too long, however, I'm never rushed, can ask as many questions as I need, and she explains everything is detail. She's extremely thorough and kind (which is a nice touch when you're experiencing pain or discomfort). When I called the office for my MRI results I received a call back from Dr. Schwartz within 5 minutes. I should also note how WONDERFUL the rest of the office is, from the front desk to the nurses. I've only visited the Wisconsin Ave office which is in a large office building with other practices. Parking is $5 for the first hour and I've never needed more than 1 hour.

I initially saw him for orthotics. Dr Firestone was tireless in making sure that the orthotics were exactly right and called the manufacturer numerous times to have them modified until they were right for my foot. I also saw him for a painful toe. His treatment quickly and gently resolved the problem. Most recently a neuroma was causing pain and hindering my ability to take the long walks that I love. After carefully examining my foot and my orthotic Dr Firestone felt that a modification to my orthotic would help resolve the problem. Dr Firestone personally sent a picture to the orthotic manufacturer detailing exactly what he wanted done. He will contact me when they are ready. I know from my previous experience with him that he will not be satisfied until " he makes it right for me." Dr Firestone' s expertise, empathy and tireless pursuit of finding the best treatment for my foot problems has earned my kudos and deepest thanks!

I had to get a bunionectomy surgery. There were several appointments leading up to the procedure. Each time, an analysis was performed and I was provided details on what the cause of my pains were and his recommendations on how to solve it. The receptionist was always kind and professional. Even the operating team in the hospital had perfect customer service. I am grateful beyond words that my pain was able to be resolved. He also provided post-op laser procedures twice a week to expedite the healing! 10 stars Out of 5 because everything was just the absolute best!

The biggest downside is that they don't accept insurance. You can try to get reimbursed by your insurance after the fact but that didn't work for me (and I have pretty good insurance--Blue Cross PPO). I had to discontinue care because I just couldn't commit to the out of pocket costs when there are other doctors in the area who do accept a range of insurance plans (in fact this is the only doctor I've visited in the DMV that won't take my insurance). Would love to return and hope they change their policy!

Both times the front-office staff were friendly and answered my questions, and were very understanding that I was a couple of minutes later than planned as I couldn't find the right office! (It's on the lowest level of the building). It turns out that the parking is really convenient - there is a garage directly opposite the building, and if you go in through the building door, the office is just there on the left. I saw Dr Ross both times, and he is absolutely in the right profession. He was calm, friendly, fully explained the problems with my feet and the procedures to deal with them, and reassured me (I was really nervous about getting my toenail seen to). His assistant was also really friendly and professional, and made me feel at ease. I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews - my experiences were great, and I will definitely go back if my feet cause me problems again.

We saw Dr. Michael Matthews for orthotics and made it very clear that due to past orthotics being…read moreto flat and collapsing very quickly, that we needed a higher and stronger arch support. Dr. Matthews agreed, but when we received the orthotics they were identical to the previous one, with no arch support. We also purchased the athletic shoes that Dr. Matthews suggested and found that the orthotics were too short so that they slide around in the shoe. The office requires that no one other than the patient can pick up the orthotics, which means taking time away from work to do so. And in the end, no one at the office is capable of determining if the orthotics are a good fit, so it becomes a colossal waste of time. The Dr. is not there to check the fit. Then you need to make another appointment with the Dr to change the prescription of the orthotics and the saga continues. Endless time back and forth and office staff that are not at all helpful.
