This was the first time I've dealt with a funeral home and it was nothing like the horror stories I've heard about other funeral homes (high pressure, over-selling, over-charging, etc.) Chris, his family and associates treated my mother, our family and friends with the utmost respect. They went out of their way to bring comfort to my mother, and I really appreciate that. Also, this was probably not the usual for Beach with my Dad dying out-of-state and then being buried in yet another state after conducting the local funeral, but they knew what to do and did everything right. They quote you prices for service but the correct process is you should be given a itemized price list and you pick what you want. And not what color you burying the deceased for the casket you are suppose to pick the casket. Each item of service should be itemized with a price not the word included. Death certificates are 10.00 with the health dept and she charge 20.00 with no explanation of why. If any of the above has happen to you more than likely you've been overcharged and should contact the Funeral Compliance office in Tallahassee at (850)413-3039 to file a complaint. To be taken an advantage of in the time of a love death is the lowest but if everyone file a complaint this can be stopped. I filed a complaint. UPDATE: MY COMPLAINT WAS COMPLETED AND AFTER THE INVESTIGATION THERE WAS A FINDING OF 4 VIOLATIONS. Gleason Park is a lovely place to visit. I always feel safe there; there are plenty of people…read morearound but not too many that it's crowded. I also see at least one Gopher Tortoise which is fun. There are several walking paths (semi-shaded), work out equipment, and they are in the middle of adding another playground. There are a lot of benches along the walking paths and around the lake. Plenty of parking and there is even a (smaller, mostly lap lanes) public pool.
