They helped fill in gaps the church couldn't cover, helped us plan a rosary hour at the wake, and handled every detail with real care. Even something as small as picking up my sister's ashes was made to feel heartfelt rather than transactional. Having now worked with them for both a non-Catholic and a Catholic service, I've seen firsthand how knowledgeable and adaptable they are across different religions and customs, they never made either experience feel like a one-size-fits-all approach. The facility itself is clean, modern, and spacious, with plenty of room to set up photos, flowers, and memorabilia. They also did a wonderful job running our slideshow and background music during the services. Pricing felt fair, and they worked hard to accommodate our budget regardless of the size or complexity of the service and nothing felt rushed or upsold, just genuine support when we needed it most. As an out-of-state family member, I traveled in for the initial planning, but they've continued to be responsive and helpful with everything I've needed since then, never making the distance feel like an obstacle. It first opened its gates in 1956 as Brevard County's first memorial-plan cemetery. It covers roughly 40 acres and offers traditional in-ground burial, mausoleum entombment spaces, cremation gardens, private family estates, and a serene veterans' section with avenue-style flag displays. The grounds are very pretty and meticulously maintained and give a very serene feel to the area. However, its location directly adjacent to active Florida East Coast Railway tracks can create unfortunate timing issues; freight trains pass with surprising frequency and the sound as they pass are loud enough to interrupt outdoor services at the most inopportune moments. The entrance road is narrow, and parking is limited and somewhat chaotic during larger funerals, often forcing most people to park along the shoulder. Once inside, navigating the grounds on foot can be tricky--because it is an older, full cemetery, graves are placed very close together with few defined walkways, making it easy to accidentally step over burial sites while trying to reach a tent for a service. Despite these practical challenges, this remains a wonderfully dignified, attractive final resting place with over sixty-five years of local history that is a great place to have your loved ones laid to rest.

In order for that to happen they want to charge me $5500 in addition to what I am already paying for my space. That's more than I paid 4 years ago. So basically, they want me to pay more than double to move less than 2 feet. Oh, but they offered me 10% off. I sat for over an hour sobbing at the site of where my grandmother is apologizing that there would now be a stranger between us because of greed. I tried. I'm in education and I just can't afford to pay more than double. The manager called later that day about the fiasco and misunderstanding and asked if he could call the next day. That was a week ago and crickets. It would have cost them nothing to move my space over. They still would have had my current space to sell, and, likely to a family member had they done the right thing and treated me with a little bit of humanity. The family was looking to buy 3 more spaces so the whole family was with her. After they showed that greed was the only thing that matter to them, the rest of the family is out. At this point, we may be moving her and finding a better place that cares. There has to be a place with more humanity. I am absolutely gutted and heartbroken.

(In this case, parent had advanced Parkinson's disease and was confined to a wheelchair in a nursing home with no ability to speak or write). Not only was this parent's single-family residence liquidated, with all of its' contents, the other long-deceased parent's ashes were buried, against this parent's express wishes to have the ashes scattered in the Atlantic Ocean, in a burial site that was arranged front to back, rather than the more conventional side-by-side. Adding insult to injury, the parent's ashes that were now buried had the wrong name engraved on the shared headstone. It took years of litigation, with multiple Florida law firms on retainer, to redress this horror-show. The entire Total Long-Term Care Consultant Services gang belongs in a Super Max correctional facility with no chance of parole.

What I received instead was inaction, condescension, and a kind of hostility that was all the more disorienting for being wrapped in a polite tone. I made contact through ordinary, appropriate channels. Rather than being met with care, I was treated as though reaching out was itself a problem, as though someone in crisis asking for support was an inconvenience or a concern to be managed rather than a person to be helped. Underneath the performed warmth, was nice nasty condescension and a clear message that my needs were too much. That message was delivered in a way designed to appear reasonable while it was delivered with contempt. I also want to name something about how this center staffs its support. Partnering women in acute crisis with graduate trainees is not appropriate. People reaching out at the worst moments of their lives are not practice cases for the next generation of mental health professionals, but that is exactly what it was. As a client, I was treated like material for someone's training rather than a person receiving care. When the support you reach for is structured around the learning needs of a student rather than the immediate needs of the person in crisis, the person in crisis is the one who pays. And I paid for it. When Heather, a supervisor became involved, the experience got worse. Her tone had a thin veneer of pleasantry that masked dismissiveness. I was talked down to, treated as though I didn't understand my own situation, and steered through a process that centered the center's procedures rather than anything resembling actual attention to the person in front of them. I was never asked what I wanted or needed. It was framed as help. But it was not help. I was managed out the door while being told it was for my benefit. There is a particular harm in being failed by the very people whose stated purpose is to support you, and in being made to feel that your reasonable need for care is a red flag. At a moment when I was already carrying more than I could hold, this added a fresh injury on top of it. I left more hurt than when I arrived. Care is not condescension delivered with sarcasm. Care is not deciding someone's course of action and calling it a referral. Care is not treating a person in crisis as a liability to be handled. Care is not handing a person at their most vulnerable to someone still learning the job. Whatever this was, it was not care, and I would caution anyone reaching out at a vulnerable moment to know that what you find here may not be the support you are hoping for. It's another dead end with grant funding. Very disappointing. The women of Brevard county deserve better.

I was provided with free group counseling on a weekly basis for about two years. The group was…read morespecifically focused on a type of trauma I survived as a child. The group members, leader and curriculum helped me understand so much about my family dynamics and how the abuse was allowed to continue for a decade. I have fewer nightmares. I have developed the courage to distance myself from certain family members, to set boundaries and enforce them, to release feelings of shame and guilt I'd been carrying (unknowingly) since age 4 or so. The process took a lot of work, time and heartache, but I am much happier now than I've ever been. I have an indescribable sense of freedom now that I've released the feeling of 'owing' people for allowing me to live. During the time I was attending classes here, I was also heavily involved with Codependents Anonymous. I highly recommend that group in tandem.
