My handyman was struggling with the GFCI circuits in the kitchen and also the furnace was not powering up - and had an error code about polarity. I hired an HVAC company who told me I needed a new board or a new system (for the low low price of $7,000). I had an inkling the problem was maybe electrical, and decided a second opinion on the furnace was a good idea since the system was not THAT old and I needed to address the GFCI circuit anyways. So I went on Yelp and found Cal Paso. Alex was my tech. And he did an ace job! He troubleshooted the GFCI problem and came up with a great solution for our hundred year old home where *nothing* is standard size or ever easy. His solution worked and even made the property *better* for the tenants by giving them more outlets than before. Then he went to the attic and solved the furnace issue. And technically there were two minor wiring issues involved, and if you've ever troubleshooted anything, it can be hard to figure out what's wrong when there's more than one problem! But Alex did. I will absolutely, 110%, use Cal Paso again. They saved me from an HVAC company who couldn't troubleshoot at all and was going to gouge me with a new system. And they made everything BETTER than I expected, at a fair and reasonable rate.

When the work was done, they broke my water pipes three times. At no point was a mention of reimbursement of what was broken by them. I WOULD not recommend them to anyone doing a small project at your house, they will overcharge you, make you waste YOUR time, and break your stuff without offering to fix it.

There are apparently two 110 lines buried in a ditch which runs underground, not in a straight line, and more than 600 feet from the PG&E power pole to the house, then another 400 feet up to the well. No one knew where the lines were, not the previous owners who still live locally, nor the neighbor ranchers whose been there 70+ years. The power went out to our well. No other electrician in the area could help or had the equipment to trace the underground power lines. Mike Roach not only traced the line, found the break, split and put in a new junction box to fix, but he did so timely. The 220 to the well was fixed and we had regular power working at the house again. He came out, found the problem and fixed it. It was not cheap, but this was over a year ago and there have not been any additional issues.
