However that quickly changed when I went into the store looking for something simple, batteries, and overheard a conversation between a middle aged woman and a couple of the employees, where the lady was clearly complaining and bad mouthing other employees. I later found out that woman is not just their boss, but the Owner of the business. To talk about your employees in that fashion is completely unprofessional and unethical. I won't repeat the exact words I heard, but they weren't pleasant. Every time I go into this store the staff is always helpful and polite so it was a complete shock to hear. I refuse to do business with someone who treats their employees like this. As a long time customer service professional, 40+ years, it was less than. Treat your employees with a little more respect and basic human kindness, it does wonders for morale.

I was barely acknowledged, asked where bulbs were and I was greeted with a response that reminded me of when my kids were teenagers and they huffed and rolled their eyes. Then when I returned empty handed and asked if it could be ordered , I got that x. After listening to the conversation with the boss I knew what was to come, started to get but thought it just isn't worth it. I wonder if customer service is . I know life is very tough now. Prices are high, wages are low and we are greeted daily with more designed to divided us and keep us agitated. Having to work under these conditions tests the best of us, we should remember it doesn't take any more effort to be kind and we are the ambassadors for our businesses. How would you want your employees to be if you were the owner or manager?

On the other hand, Rossi's in town is very welcoming to their customers and the people bending over backwards to earn your business. I came looking for large dry goods, storage containers for pasta/legumes, but ended up doing a grocery shop while here. You can find pretty much anything you may need. As with the Gualala Supermarket and Surf Market, prices tend to be higher because of the remote location. Definitely recommend if you are looking for frozen items - as their selection is broader/cheaper than what you see in Gualala! Open daily from 8am-7pm, great place to get staples or odds and ends for the home.

As I understand it, he started working with James Krenov when Krenov was at the College of the Redwoods - Ron making blades for him and his students. I've only purchased a few of his blades but I will certainly continue to buy more, as I can afford them and as I need them. They are so much better than others I own. They hold a great edge and are wonderfully thick, preventing chatter. I've made Krenov-type planes around his wooden body plane blades and love them. I can't wait to get one of his spokeshave blades as well. And all the rest, to be honest. I've got a crappy block plane that I want a Hock blade for but the blade would cost more than the plane by far. It's not that the blades are that expensive, it's that I bought that horrible a block plane. I'll wait and make another woodie instead. I've recently purchased some good steel and made a couple blades myself. While they turned out better than the stock blades I own they really aren't nearly as good as the Hock Tool blades. I also didn't save any money by the time I add up all the tools and heat treating stuff I needed. It was fun, but not a great saving. Ron Hock has also written a great book on sharpening tools of all sorts. In my few calls there I've spoken to both a lady working there and Ron Hock himself and both were helpful and friendly.

The clerk rather rudely put the cable in front of and pointed to the A part of the cable. Got back home and learned I should have asked for an A and micro cable rather than the C end. I went back to the store and the "manager" came out and refused to take it back due store policy of not taking electronics back. The this was in the span of 30 minutes. I had the receipt and packaging undamaged. What a horrible store along with rude staff! The clerk actually started laughing at me. I am 69 years old and am not used having such little respect. Went to ACE nearby great friendly and helpful staff and well stocked store. Definitely recommend ACE v True Value/ Radio Shack.

Thankfully this Radioshack has the exact battery model I was looking for and saved us in a pinch. I would recommend visiting this Radioshack for battery or emergency items during your travels. Pricing is also reasonable but in general, I feel tourist towns like Fort Bragg have everything slightly marked up so expect to pay a bit more for your battery here than elsewhere.

I recognized one of the workers, she helped us with a couple extra set of car keys in the past. Her name is Desiree she told us about the Astro program. It sounded really good, we qualified. The program is simple to sign up for and it rewards those who have rescued a dog from a shelter. We did our shopping and then returned a day or two later.... As we were walking in Desiree spotted us, stopped what she was doing, and came over to help us out. If you haven't seen the pet section at Mendo Mill/ace hardware you need to... it's really sweet.... We found out that Desiree is in charge of that area.... There are so many cute/sweet touches. Desiree just has the kindest way about her.... She took a sincere interest in us and our dog, just like the previous visit . she had great recommendations, answered all our questions. Desiree let our dog try a couple flavors of the treats that came with the backpack/food as part of the Astro problem. There are pics of customers animals, there are pics of pets who recommend their favorite toys, treats, etc. it really touched me after the passing of our bulldog, we bought her a bunch of the kong toys over the 2 years we had her.... Everyone at Mendo Mill has always been great to my wife and I.... Desiree was our rockstar the last 2-3 times we went there, and my wife and I will seek her out - you should too.. He was yelling at us saying "we have 20 minutes" while we were shopping, which made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. When we checked out, he threw our change at us instead of handing it to us respectfully. His attitude and behavior were unprofessional and upsetting. I understand employees may be stressed or trying to close on time, but customers should still be treated respectfully. I wanted to bring this to your attention because the experience was not okay.

Amazing customer service…read more Gualala Building Supply is my new go-to whenever I have a home-repair question. I've called and visited in-person a number of times to ask about supplies and what time of year to undertake various projects. As a new homeowner, I am realizing that home ownership entails constant upkeep projects! Most recently, I needed firebricks to line my wood burning stove. When they did not have enough in store, Gualala Building Supply promptly ordered more and called me directly when they arrived. I appreciate their employees making themselves available for recommendations, as well as their follow through on orders!
