I had a string of vintage pearls that I didn't know if they were real or fake. Lost as to what to do (they needed restored either way) I called Kays. They said a test to do this would be $200, bla bla bla. They then suggested that yes it was crazy, maybe try Roth Jewelers. When I called Roth I got someone who was helpful and knew what they were talking about, they said bring it in we'll tell you. The pearls were fake, but we ended up taking numerous vintage rings to them for resizing/fixing and they have been nothing but perfect every time. Resizing is generally about $55, they'll clean rings for free and give you an assessment for free (if its real, what stone is what). We had a wedding ring from the 1950s that was so worn the band looked uneven. They had to cut the band and redo that part, but the price was reasonable and the work flawless. I am fairly new to the area and needed to get my mother's wedding ring buffed and cleaned. I took it into another jewelers in the city and was told by a sales associate 2 small diamonds were loose and would take 5 days to get completed along with a large charge. I didn't want to take that long so I looked at other jewelry stores in the area and found Roth. Took it to them and was treated great with the in store jeweler completing it while I waited. FI bought a amazing ring from them. had one issue I took it in they knew the ring took it and fixed it while I waited within 5 mins ring was back to looking amazing. Was really disappointed here. I had a man's wedding ring that no longer fit, and needed to be resized. They measured it, and told us when to come back. The ring had a really cool surface finish on it, and they didn't state that they would be buffing most of that off. So when we got the ring, that's the first thing I noticed. But they responded that it had always been that way, and we hadn't thought to take photos ahead of time. Then I tried the ring on. It still didn't fit. At that point in time, I wasn't sure what to do. They could resize the ring again, but a lot of its emotional value was gone. We paid and left, but it was really sad. You really don't want something like that to happen to your wedding ring. It's probably ok to something new here, but not for service. We won't be back. read more

I took my 90 year old mother in to have a "gold" locket repaired. The locket was given to her by her Grandmother. She also had an old clock from her Dad. From the outset, the clerk was dismissive and rude. Her first words were "If that's a clock don't even take it out of the box. We don't work on them". Mom then showed her the locket and she quickly told her it was not "real gold" and can't be repaired. The clerk was correct, it is gold plate, but her disrespect was crushing to my Mother. We left with Mom feeling very upset. You can be sure no one from our large extended family will ever step foot in Roth again. read more

Hands down the best experience I have had. I recently found out I had a chip in my diamond. I went to where I purchased it from and was not happy. I ended up going to Roth's. Kevin met 1:1 with me for over an hr. He gave me a punch of options and I couldn't have been more pleased. I ordered a new diamond and within 2 days he had me back in the store to pick out the one I wanted. From there it only took 2 days and I had a brand new ring. I had to choose a new jeweler in town and decided I of course wanted one that's locally owned. Last visit was to have a stone replaced and the ring restyled. The staff was so knowledgeable and helpful in assuring me what would look best. It turned out beautiful. They carry my favorite brands in watches & crystals. Seventeen years ago, my husband and I purchased our wedding rings from Roth Jewelers. When we bought it, the process was explained to us and we were not rushed or pushed into buying anything other than what we wanted. I was able to look at and try on various styles to see what was most "like me". I LOVE my ring and had a wonderful experience purchasing it. I currently live in Chicago. Last week, I noticed that I had lost the diamond from my setting and couldn't find it. Fortunately, it was insured and I was travelling to Waterloo to visit my family the next day. I spoke with the manger, Kevin, on the phone and stopped by Roth's as soon as I was in town. He showed me a comparable diamond (which was actually even higher quality than the original) and explained the process to get the new diamond and the setting repaired. Two days later, Kevin called me and let me know that my ring was finished and that I could take it back to Chicago with me. It looks brand new and I even teared up when I put it back on my finger-it took me right back to my wedding day! It is truly as beautiful as it was when we bought it! (When we picked up my ring, my mother also got her ring cleaned and the prongs checked in just a few minutes. Her ring also looks brand new!)
