As far as second hand jewelry, coins, and music equipment are concerned this is probably the #1 place in Cedar Rapids. I've been in this location a handful of times--not really looking for anything in particular, but just to browse and compare prices. They have a very large well-curated collection of items for sale. I would say they're competitively priced. Not sure if they also accept offers, but it's worth a try. I also appreciate that they actually consider what they bring into their shop; they don't buy/pawn everything all willy-nilly, thus cluttering up their shelves. Store is well maintained and clean. Every staff person I've ever spoken to at Siegel's has been very knowledgeable. I didn't experience any pushiness here and found it to be a pleasant experience. If you can't find what you're looking for, I bet they know someone who knows someone. Buying local = great customer service. Siegel's is a CR staple. I took in 5 bars of 2.5g of 99.9 24 k gold just to see if I could get the base value of solid gold. I Went ahead and agree on their offer. They gave me 50$ less than what each of these solid gold bars are . I even discussed the actual Worth and value of this gold . And solid gold is worth its value. Not undervalued. I visited this shop 6 weeks ago. Spent about a hour with Carol, she told me when the owner came back from vacation she would call me back with a price of a 2 CT. Diamond I wanted made. NEVER got back to me. I should have figured. While I was there looking, she cut me off pretty fast after I had tons of questions. I wanted to get the ring just right. Maybe it was to much for Carol. We looked at several rings before deciding on a nice bridal set. I fell in love instantly, but when I looked at the price, it was well out of our price range. The woman helping us assured us we would not pay the tagged price. We paid about half of what the marked price was! At no time did we feel pressured in buying something we didnt want. They were honest with their prices (we looked at another bridal set that needed sized up 5 times, adding $250 to the total, when the bridal set we purchased needed sized up one size for almost the same price). Do NOT go to this business. I had a ring repaired and 3 days later lost 2 diamonds! After I got it back, I had it 5 days until I lost another diamond. I took it back in and got yelled at and told that gold is soft and diamonds fall out!!! I have lots of diamonds, and they never fall out! I have never been treated so badly by a business, He finally told me (through the yelling) that he would fix it. I went in to pick it up on Saturday and went straight to a REAL jewelry store. I had them look over the ring (5 minutes after I picked it up from Siegels) and was told one of the diamonds they had replaced had a chip in it AND the diamond that was just replaced was LOOSE!! I finally wised up and had professionals do the work! So I paid Seigels to do the work, and now I'm paying again! At least the jewerly store I took it to stands behind their work.
