Got an oatmilk latte with cinnamon and honey and it was really creamy and yummy. I enjoyed the conversations with baristas and the coffee was pretty tasty. Nice comfortable seating and vibe inside

This was so close to my hotel that I had to try it. It was really the Lox toast pics on Yelp that brought me here! The front counter person was so nice and friendly. Every time I had questions he was so informative and friendly! I wanted to try the Darjeeling earl grey with steamed milk and a touch of honey (I know it's a "London fog"). It was fabulous! I also got the whole milk latte and the lox toast. It had veggie cream cheese, salmon, cucumbers and picked onions. Exactly what I needed after my long flight the night before and a workout. It was kinda crowded around 1:15pm ish and died down a lot around 1:30. There were a lot of people using their laptops on the benches inside and limited seating outside. I was able to snag a bench top inside looking into the parking lot. Great first mini meal in State College, PA!

5 stars for cold brew coffee, cold brew tea, customer service, and modern interior design. Their cold brew is very, very good. Whichever roast that is of their coffees is worth getting at your next visit. You can taste and smell every profile indicated in the description - even my coffee disliking friend took a sip and said "wait, is this what coffee's supposed to taste like?" Yes!! It is!! If it's made well - as they do as Rothrock!!! Just a small note though - I was rather disappointed in the latte. Compared to the cold brew the flavors and aromas just weren't as prominent and actually tasted incredibly weak. There should have been a shot in there but half the time I was drinking it wondering if it was just milk/foam with a kind of slight coffee smell? I'd also maybe forgo their food options unless you're really hungry. They are all beautifully presented but the the flavors aren't all that good. BUT LOVE THE 6 GRAIN BREAD that they use on all their toasts/sandwiches. It they just sold the bread I'd buy it. So - get the cold brew coffee, cold brew tea is good too, and I'd recommend that you get other coffees cold or hot without any additions like milk or syrup because just the coffee they make is good and extras would just muddle the beautiful complexities. And see if you can just get their toast. :)

Nice little place that's clean and friendly. I wanted a coffee that was strong but had a little whisper of lavender and I got just that. The lox toast was substantial and filling, lots of good flavors together. Parking is easy and convenient. The only reason I take off a star is price point. It is far too high. Not enough competition around so they're getting away with it but 15 bucks for a coffee drink and lox toast is a bit outrageous. Overall recommended though and will return to try other things.

Clean, bright, friendly and super trendy littl coffe shop in a plaza in Atherton in state college... not something the students will walk to but a quick drive over by car. Interior is light and bright- staff was friendly. Prices seem on par for hip coffee shops, decent food choices and hopping at 8:45 on a Sunday morning. If you come much later may be hard to grab a seat as it looked like folks were hunkered down to work

In addition to coffee and tea, they offer breakfast sandwiches and pastries, along with locally made goods such as flavored balsamic vinegar, customized Keurig pods, candles, and chocolates. The main area has standard tables, while comfortable couches and chairs are tucked away behind a vault door. They offer a regular menu as well as a monthly rotating board. *Egg, Cheese, and Sausage Sandwich: was served on an everything bagel. While nothing stood out as exceptional, the components were serviceable. The egg was slightly dry, and the sausage was salty and greasy. The bagel was fluffy, but the overall texture was quite soft throughout. A sauce would have added depth, spice, or acidity and improved the sandwich. *Sweater Weather Chai: was a seasonal blend of chai and hot cocoa. Although it leaned sweet due to the cocoa, the spiced chai still came through clearly. It was a comforting and rich drink with deep chocolate flavor. *Nutcracker Chai: another seasonal offering. The chai was once again fragrant and warming with subtle praline notes. However, it could have been served a bit hotter as it arrived slightly tepid. Bason Coffee Roasting offers great ambiance and consistently good chai. I would likely pick up a sandwich elsewhere nearby and stop here primarily for drinks.

I've spent a ton of time in serious coffee shops from Shanghai to New York with Q graders and baristas with bonafides. Alabaster can stand up to the best of them. The coffees we tried were fantastic. The Rwandan was delicious and the roast complimented the natural expression of the beans. My dad got the Ugandan which was awesome as well. I grabbed a bag of the Salvadoran beans to take home, and it brews up an amazingly clean and interesting cup (I used a V60). One of the better cafes I've visited in the U.S. with a roaster that knows what they're doing. On top of all that, the tahini date banana bread we tried was seriously good and wasn't a premade, mass produced baked good like so many cafes have resorted to in recent years. On top of that, the cafe was beautiful with reclaimed wood tables. We were traveling with our dog and they allowed her in because she was well-behaved. Nice people, awesome cafe, world-class coffee, and seriously good pastries. Keep up the incredible work! I will be back to Williamsport for more.

There were plenty of outlets along the walls, which made it relatively easy to study. There was a lot of foot traffic, but the overall ambiance did not get too rowdy, providing pleasant white noise. There were a few seasonal specials, but otherwise the selection was not very large. The tea selection was rather small, especially considering it is part of their name. Drinks came out extremely quickly. There was a dish tub near the entrance to drop items off after finishing. I tried their seasonal egg nog cappuccino, and it came out lightly warm. The egg foam was not overwhelming and the spiced notes were well incorporated into the drink. It was not too sweet and gave me a pleasant buzz. I hope to see more diverse tea options in the future, but the overall feel and quality of this cafe were great.

I saw online that seating inside is limited, so we went early; good thing we did. The service is very friendly, the employees work together as though they are family. The Sawhorse Cafe, Williamsport Pa…read more The breakfasts are pretty good, as is the coffee. I'd say a 5 or possibly 6 out of 10. The space is small and cramped, with an unfriendly "woke" vibe. I've gone there on and off for a few years hoping the vibe might change to be more welcoming, but It hasn't. The last time I was there, I brought my wife for a relaxing breakfast together. There was one table left. I put my phone on the table and got in line to order our food, so when the food comes up we aren't standing there holding our food trying to eat standing up. The two girls in line in front of us waiting to order did the same exact thing, as their 2 purses were on a table and were in front of me in line, as did another man that I know was in line with his hat on a table. However, they decided to humiliate and embarrass us, telling us to take our things off the table and order first before taking a table. Even though we've done it many times before and most people do. We unfortunately were their petty examples of the day. We got out of line and left and spent our money at another breakfast spot that is equally as good or better, without the stress, humiliation and woke attitudes. We will never be back to The Sawhorse Cafe in Williamsport Pa, and I will be sure to tell my circle of friends about my unpleasant experience so they can too decide if they want to eat there. Maybe with less people coming in, we can help your seating dilemma.
