Ordered 10 tons of screened black dirt delivered for vegetable garden and flower beds. Dirt…read moredelivered looked literally like it had been scraped from a demolition site. It was full of concrete debris, asphalt pieces, plastic garbage, rocks and had enormous clumps of mud. It clearly had not been screened, which means tons of additional labor and contaminants in my garden. Contacted 1st Rate and was told there was nothing wrong with what had been delivered and they refused to do anything to rectify the situation except to charge me $200 to remove it. As it stands, I have a huge pile of junk dirt in my driveway, which I now have to give away to whoever is willing to take it. If First Rate Excavate can't be trusted with something as simple as a delivery of screened topsoil, I DEFINITELY wouldn't hire them for larger projects.
