I'd often come visit her at her home by taking the subway from Main Street to Chester. A few Saturdays ago, I took line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) from Victoria Park to this station. There was an announcement that the line was closed at Woodbine heading westbound thanks to a trespasser at a station west of it. Shuttle buses were to be deployed. However, when the train that I was on reached Woodbine, another announcement said that trains were running again. I got to Chester. I walked up some stairs. I ended up on the east side of Chester, in a new building. I walked through a Presto kiosk. An older woman was sitting nearby and asked me if trains were running. I said yes -- that they were running again for the last ten minutes. She thanked me. She went through the Presto entrance and headed down to the subway. I remember the original part of this station, which is still located on the west side of Chester Avenue, north of Danforth Avenue. If you need a human to help you out with directions or transit fare, it's best to go there. The new building that I exited and ultimately entered to get back to Victoria Park station is unmanned. The last time I was in this area, I parked on Chester Avenue for free and walked over to Cinnaholic, which is the main reason why I hang out in this area. I noticed heading back to the station that there's a Green P parking lot next to the new building. Cool! I liked taking the subway here and back. Because my trip was less than two hours, I didn't have to pay heading back to Victoria Park because it was considered a transfer from one train to another. (484)

The station has always been clean. Presto gates were installed in 2018. There are two Presto pay kiosks. The station was modernized by 2021. There is a very modern building and entrance on the east side of Chester Ave (the main building with a live TTC staff is on the west side). Beside the new building is a large parking lot with a few accessible parking spots. There is free WiFi. The station is wheelchair accessible with the use of elevators. There are no customer washrooms. There is paid and free neighbourhood street parking. Review 2023-079

I used to transfer from the 72 bus to the 501 Queen streetcar, and vice-versa, growing up in the Beaches. Back in the day, I frequented Towers and Consumers Distributing (I'm really going back in time) at the northeast corner of Gerrard and Carlaw. Gerrard Square was a block away, so I'd shop there as a teen. As an undergraduate, I had physiotherapy in the same plaza as Towers. The downside was that Towers had closed down. There was a Food City next door. Knob Hill Farms took over from Food City. The last grocery store that replaced Knob Hill Farms was No Frills. This entire plaza is gone to make way for Gerrard station on the Ontario Line, a rapid transit line. These days, the entire bus platform at Pape station is shut down, also due to the Ontario Line being built. Only two buses stop at this station now: - Pape 72 - Pape 972 (night line) My manager and I were reminiscing about the Don Mills 25 bus. He remembered it coming out of Pape station. I thought it ran out of Broadview. We are both right. Due to the bus platform shutdown, this bus has been rerouted to Broadview station. It was nice to reminisce about this station when I was riding the subway to get to Chester. Good memories. So much change! (485)

Wow how this station has changed since way back in the day when it was just like all the other stations on the Danforth. Pape has a new look both inside and out. These days that's not common at all. It seems that TTC has really spruced up this station for whatever reason but it's nice and Pape has a bunch of buses that run out of it basically 4 more than the others nearby that mostly have 2. Pape station is actually a bit north of the Danforth at Lipton Ave and Pape. The south west portion of the station has a tiny Tim Horton's as part of the station. It's not a half and half inside and outside the station set up like the McDonald's at Dundas West but it's s tiny, busy little stand. The bus loop around entrance is off pape and the buses drive clockwise around to Lipton Ave. The 25 Don Mills travels north along Pape to the Leaside Bridge and east on Overlea before turning north on Don Mills road with a connection to Don Mills and Sheppard to the 4 line continuing north all the way to Steeles before looping around a few small side streets before turning south. The 185 Don Mills express basically travels the same route but only stops at certain bus stops. The 72 Pape bus runs south from Pape station on Pape ave turning right on Riverdale and then left (south) onto Carlaw and follows Carlaw all the way to Commissioners Street and goes west on Commissioners basically to Cherry before looping back around. The 81 Thornclilffe Park bus goes north on Pape ave to Millwood and turns right at Overlea and loops around Thorncliffe Park drive. This bus route is rather short but has a lot of high rise buildings that it services. There's been rumors that if there is to be a downtown relief line (subway) built that Pape is considered one of the stations to be a terminus. If that happens the use of this station will increase dramatically.

There has been ongoing construction in the area for over a decade, but now it's very easier to navigate inside the station and in/our of the station. The station is wheelchair accessible and has elevators and ramps, making it easy for everyone to access the platforms. There are designated waiting areas and accessible washroom. The station is conveniently it's connected to shops, restaurants, food court and grocery stores. The TTC staff are on-site, available to answer commuters questions.

It's a subway and bus station so there's really not much to rate here. It is small and easy to…read morenavigate which is a definite plus but it also means the station doesn't really have anything about it they makes it very special. It's got a bunch of leaks in the roof which means the TTC usually has to put out bins to catch all the water when it rains or the snow/ice melts. There's an elevator which is great if you can't use the stairs or escalator and need another accessibility option. There's a tiny newsstand on the floor between the subway platform & the bus platform and there's the cool Ossington Dots art throughout the station (read the plaque to learn more about the piece). Gave the station 3 stars cuz as I said above it's pretty average so it deserves an average score. Happy trails transit riders!

Normally along the Bloor-Danforth subway line (it's called line 2 these days, but the former is far more meaningful), a subway station is on or steps away from the street after which it is named. Greenwood is an exception. Greenwood Avenue is a good block west of Linnsmore. I spent a couple of summers in this area. In grade 7, I broke away from taking Cantonese in the summertime to focus on fun activities, such as calligraphy and badminton. My mom felt that I was revolting. My reasoning was that I was taking Cantonese on Saturdays throughout the regular school year, so why not try something different? I won. Yay! Anyway, calligraphy and badminton were offered at Lakeview Secondary School, which was roughly south of Greenwood station. The school became Catholic a few years later, as I recently drove over to check it out. Greenwood station had one bus coming in and out of that station: Greenwood 31. I had the option of taking that bus down to Queen Street East, and then hopping on the 501 streetcar to get home. The problem was that this bus didn't come as often as the Coxwell 22 bus. Instead, I walked along Monarch Park to Coxwell and took that bus to get down to Queen Street East. It now has two routes coming in and out of the station: Greenwood 31A and 31B. The former goes down to Queen. The latter goes further south to Eastern. Buses run every 20 minutes on weekends. They seem to run every 13 minutes during weekdays, which is significantly better than when I needed it. Figures! Sadly, this station does not have an elevator to support accessibility. It does have escalators. Coxwell, the station to the east of Greenwood, is your best best for accessibility needs. The station looked pretty quiet when I was briefly passing by. I saw one person come out of the station. It looked nicely kept and clean from the outside. (35)

Back in the day, this station was strictly a part of the Yonge-University-Spadina line, which is now line 1. The Sheppard line (line 4) wasn't built. When line 4 had arrived, this station needed a more meaningful name to indicate that it was a hub for lines 1 and 4. So, Sheppard leads because it's the original name on the Yonge line. It's also the namesake of line 4. When I worked at Yonge and Eglinton over a decade ago, I'd travel from Bassarion (line 4) to Sheppard-Yonge station, and then transfer southbound on line 1 to get to Eglinton. During rush hour, when I did this transfer, I always felt like I was a fish swimming upstream because commuters would be coming at me in the opposite direction. I don't miss that part of commuting during rush hour. Commuting during off-peak hours is less stressful! The passport office is near this station. I remember leaving work for a few hours to get my passport renewed. It was convenient taking line 1 to and from this station. It's also convenient that you can get to Yonge Sheppard Centre without going outside. This station is connected to this shopping centre, which helps when the weather isn't the greatest. This station has four floors. I remember accessing levels 3 and 4 the most to switch between lines 1 and 4. There are stairs, escalators, and elevators to get you to all floors. I never used the elevators, but I know that they were wheelchair-accessible. There are bus routes that you can catch from this station. The 97 Yonge and 84 Sheppard West have been around for eons. Due to line 4 being in full force, you catch the 85 Sheppard East bus from Don Mills station. It used to depart from this station when line 4 didn't exist. I haven't been to Yonge Sheppard Centre in ages. When I visit this area these days, I normally drive and figure out where to park. I'm contemplating parking at a TTC lot and coming here by subway instead to change things up. I also like reliving my past commuter life. (500)

But this is also the path for the Yonge bus line. There is no free WiFi and no customer washrooms.
